"Kraken," the new XBB.1.5 COVID variant, explained

With a new winter comes a new COVID-19 variant. The XBB.1.5 is the most transmissible version of COVID-19 yet, and is rapidly becoming the dominant strain of COVID-19 in the United States, particularly on the east coast. Because our communities are resort communities and international destinations, new variants of COVID-19 move through our community quickly. It is critically important for you and your family to stay up to date on your vaccinations, including the new bivalent booster.
XBB.1.5 is not the variant presently ravaging China (that is the original Omicron variant of COVID-19.)
