I had Omicron BA5 in September with long covid for 6 more weeks from HELL. The actual COVID was very strange, with most of the symptoms listed, but it doesn't cover how strange everything was, causing a terrible distortion of reality and senses. It would take too long to explain, but I believe the damage to the autonomic nervous system (causing panic, extreme anxiety, and loss of regulation of sleep so my body would not go to sleep) was worst. I am so afraid of getting Long Covid again! I was so grateful to be "normal" again after about 9 weeks.

It was odd, I just suddenly started sneezing continually for a week with a very runny nose, a slightly tickly throat and some slight sinus pain (which has continued despite no other symptoms). I live in the US (PA) and have been participating in the Zoe tracking study since mid 2020. I am fully vaccinated. I had no cases of URIs from May 2020 until the end of 2022. The last few days of December, I had some nasal congestion and a mild sore throat. I tested myself and it came back negative. On New Years Eve, my nose was running nonstop, and my throat was more sore. I woke up after midnight and decided to retest, since I had a pile of expiring kits. I couldn’t believe it when I saw that I had tested positive. After another day or two, I was pretty much back to normal, although my throat was still a bit scratchy, like a tickle in my throat, and sometimes I’d start coughing when I tried to talk.

My symptoms began on a Friday evening three weeks before Christmas, I had been invited to a Christmas reception but felt too tired to go, didn’t think to test for COVID. Same for Saturday night, a Christmas party invitation, felt too tired but went anyway. Had an appointment to view a property with my fiancé on Sunday, an estate property in the country so an hours’s drive, felt pretty good, and refreshed to see this beautiful property with Mountain Views. But then I got home and suddenly symptoms became like a flu. After a terrible night, terrible body aches, unable to breath, and the worst sore throat I’ve had in my life, I took a test the next morning and it was positive. I thought after 5 days it would pass. Phoned my brother, a doctor of internal medicine, who suggested that I give the temperature and congestion a few days to clear up before resorting to antibiotics (I very rarely take antibiotics). Fever left, congestion improved only slightly but didn’t show signs of infection. Recover finally took 5 full weeks. I’m 68 but in excellent health, like someone 20 years younger. My fiancé, 66, tested positive 2 days after me and is still Ill 6 weeks later and was hospitalized immediately because he is immune compromised. This was a monster. Be careful. We are both fully vaccinated and boosted with bivalent booster.

My hubs and I had Covid in Sept for 10 days-2 weeks. Myriad of symptoms…sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, fever, body aches, initially. More cold like symptoms days 5-10. Ironically, our dog got sick within a few days of us. She had swollen lymph nodes, which vet thought might have been left over infection from minor dental work 5 weeks earlier. She also had a temperature. Treated her with antibiotics/anti-inflammatories. She never really got better…2 weeks later she became neurological. Rushed to ER Vet, where she seized and passed. Necropsy was done…encephalitis (infection of the brain). Cause unknown. I’ll always wonder if it was Covid. She was 8 yrs old, otherwise healthy beforehand. RIP my sweet JoJo.🐶😢❤️

So, I tested positive Jan 2nd. I had it for about a week. Jan 7th I got a negative test. It’s was still pretty brutal though this was my third time. My bivalent shot was in mid Oct so it waned. I’m still dealing with a pretty stuffy nose but it comes and goes. I don’t know what variant it was. I didn’t have a fever, but I felt exhausted. I had heart pain which worried me. I developed a hoarse cough a few days in, but I could feel it stopping at my throat. It didn’t go into the lungs this time. I didn’t lose taste and smell. I had thick glue snot again but not in the lungs this time. I attribute that to being fully vaccinated. I also had a headache for a few days. It’s funny though. I had weird sneezing a week before I tested positive. It was very strange excessive sneezing. I was told it was just a cold, and because of that, my immune system dropped and I got Covid. But my theory is, that weird sneeziness was pre-Covid. I’ve heard constant sneezing is a very early warning symptom (only) for those who are vaccinated.

I had 2 vaccines and a booster. I started feeling itchy throat and coughing on January 4. Left work and came home with a fever. Tested but it was negative. That was Wednesday, I continued to run a fever, stuffy nose, loss of appetite to the point I was drinking mostly all day, hot tea, water and coffee only. My husband heated me up a can of chicken noodle soup that I have eaten before and it tasted horrible, I ate it because he was worried about me not eating. Friday morning still had fever of 101.5 and he brought me coffee like I drink it, just milk and coffee, it was nasty. I asked him if it was new coffee or what he did different since it was not good. He said I didn't do anything different and his taste fine. Now I did have headaches with this too. Saturday I got an appointment to get tested at covid rest site after fever went to 102.5. I was positive, also had bad muscle aches and chills, add to that the loss it altered taste. I followed CDC guidelines and stayed home from first symptom except going to test site. I now have a dry cough, mucous so thick it is hard to get it to move but the worst is the lack of moisture in mouth and a burning throat. I drink twice the amount of water and peppermint tea so I normally do but the throat just gets so dry my voice cracks and my throat burns. I wake up at night with my mouth do dry I cannot swallow until I get water in my mouth. I have never had this problem in my life. I am praying this goes away soon. I do not know the type I had as far as the variant but I do know it affected smell and taste.
My daughter just had it too and she did not have fever as long, did not lose sense of taste or smell. Had more runny nose and cough that was productive and sore throat. She was not vaccinated. To date my husband remains symptom free.

Food tasted nasty too. I did get over most of those symptoms mainly after 6 weeks, but definitely it took its toll on my neurological system. I lost quite a bit of muscle mass, although I have all my strength back. Strange, because I am 10 lbs. thinner due to smaller muscles. I am still trying to add protein and find ways to build my muscle back since strength training isn't increasing the mass. I think COVID did something to the actual structure of my muscle fibers.

The most recent data update includes samples taken January 3 - 9, 2023. During this sampling period:
The total viral RNA load in wastewater entering the (minneapolis/st paul) Metro Plant decreased by 12% last week compared to a week earlier.
The contribution of BA.2 sub-lineages to the viral RNA load entering the Metro Plant increased to 32% last week, while that of BA.5 sub-lineages decreased to 70%.
BA.2.75 and XBB subvariants are both subsets of the BA.2 lineage:
BA.2.75 made up approximately 4% of the viral RNA entering the Metro Plant last week, down from 5% a week earlier.
XBB made up 27% of the viral RNA entering the Metro Plant last week, nearly doubling the previous week’s level of 15%.
BQ.1 subvariants are a subset of the BA.5 lineage. They made up approximately 56% of the viral RNA entering the Metro Plant last week, down from 62% a week earlier.
Summary: XBB sub-lineages are replacing BQ.1 sub-lineages in the Metro Plant service area, but the total level of virus decreased, week-over-week.

Thanks. This looks like a really good way to measure what’s happening. The best part is reporting the total viral load which allows calculating which variants are actually increasing in absolute terms (and thus allowing projecting into the future what really counts; not relative percentages but instead, actual rate of new infections plus percentage of population already infected for each sub-lineage.
If only CDC provided regional/local data on how much each lineage has infected the population percent wise plus how many are becoming infected percent wise plus data on what percent are reinfections by new lineages in people with natural immunity to other lineages, then accurate projections would be possible. But our CDC is not interested in natural immunity.

In Britain there is tracking enabling a "educated" 1 infection for every 15 people here and 1 infection for every 20 people there peak in almost real time and with what variant. Your first cranial nerve is your olfactory nerve (sense of smell). It's usually skipped in a physical exam and they focus on Cranial nerves II through XII, but with COVID cranial nerve I becomes relevant. It's SARS-2 and it's just got around to doing what it couldn't do in 2003, be transmissible in human populations (Ask Gilead Sciences, they know, boy do they know. They know what remdesivir/VEKLURY doesn't work on.) Spanish flu started out as a horse and donkey flu in 1842. The Apache and US cavalry had to fight on foot. A large portion of Boston burned in a fire. Then, somehow it made the jump close proximity or another intermediate host. There's no magic, it's just a virus migrating into an agreeable population of hosts to infect and reinfect and reinfect and.. well, you get the idea. It's just exploiting our ignorance. I did home COVID test 1/4/2023 negative. Next day repeated tests reported as invalid. On 1/6/2023 used another type of test I had and tested positive. I started on Paxlovid that evening and took my last dose 1/11/2023. Tested negative 1/13/2023. Today I seem to be coughing more and head congested. Hope I am not among the 6% that can have rebound infection/symptoms. Being in Southern California where XBB.1.5 is reported as 4% probably BQ.1.1 but do not know.

The biggest problem with this method of tracking symptoms is you have to look at what type of person is using Zoe. How old are they, socioeconomic group, etc. My husband and I are 56 and 66, we got covid the beginning of January. It was really bad, including fever, chills, cough, congestion that you couldn't get rid of, stomach issues, vertigo with nausea and POTS. We did at home tests. Who was tracking our symptoms? No one. We are just now, 4 weeks later starting to feel a bit better. I don't feel that any of these reports of symptoms are at all accurate.

Caught COVID for the first time in March 2023. Dry cough, nausea and vomiting were my symptoms the first 3 days, then a low grade fever with a sore throat. It felt like I swallowed broken glass. Lasted about 6 days. Tested negative by day 10.

Had original omicron as a first covid Infection last year e d of February. Got sotrvimab....which gave me a strange taste/smell in my perspiration....think I might have again...lots of muscle and joint pain and same smell as after sotrvimab....better after a couple doses of ivm. No upper respiratory symptoms at all.

IVM really works. Been using it off and on for long covid for years now... Got Covid again recently, took IVM again (Higher dose as per the FLCCC recommendation) kicked the virus in 5 days. Mild symptoms and no lingering long covid (from that infection).

No, the absolute TOP symptom is massive panic and paranoia among the fully-vaccinated. Our office supervisor kept on e-mailing EVERYBODY if one person is out with COVID. She kept on telling us to mask up for one week until we get a negative PCR result back 3-5 days after the initial exposure. So much for "safe and effective."

HANG ON, I am in the middle of SW UK! 25 yrs farm girl 70 from Idaho. Very perturbed abt the Tim Spector- ZOE app I down loaded but was only for the vaxxed as far as I could tell. But I followed for the map reports of numbers and excellent graphs. then the Gov support stopped the funding when things calmed down. the UK has not collected data from rapid test reports or passed out free tests for months and months! Testing of variants discontinued I assume not worth bothering costly. As of April 5 2022, I was one of 1 in 13 in the country that had it simultaneously. My NHS medical clinic said they did not and could not know which variant was dominate at the time! Same for any medical source our drug stores no one knew or seemed to care. I asked the best sources ended up assuming BA.2 sp? Had it hard and thrilled to get it and over, not Vaxxed.
ZOE indeed attracted unbelievable adherents new to even mob/cell pH use. Our demographic is much older than States Boomer gen. They jumped on group think and are still marveling at new to them gut biome advice being promulgated lately by ZOE.
Obedenient scared to death pensioners (retires) on the property line, knew our near collapsed medical system could not care for Few let alone the cradle to grave free services. In one all rushed to get as we say here 'jabbed'. 'Nanny state' we were quickly the best protected country for the elderly and they still are lineing up over and over for boosters of the useless bivalent MNRA, in total faith.
the country has been had!!! By a Boston based company, right place right time who offered a service Gov supported for a time......I am annoyed Clever Capitalism collected an enormous mailing list now SUCCESSFULLY selling into the UK some of the first nutrition knowledge many have ever considered!! Brilliant if your a stock holder!! I just am ashamed or jealous?
Tim Spector talked to us daily for months he IS the trusted Good Guy Voice and NO one but this skeptic dug into what was going on!!
Bty The UK both loves and resents the states then copies them faithfully in all fads.
I hope to end up back in Idaho and doubt health care manages there either. But do not take UK data as though it is accurate NO one knows unless they are sampling sewage in major areas. One can not find out anything. NHS low paid medical system relies on emigrant drs and agency nurses. half staffed at best, open positions for 10s of thousands.... NO one will still go into the profession the government keeps demanding performance outcome counting by under staffed employees. The sympathic public will do anything to protect the hospitals not the best health care choice!!
Totaliser socialised need is the only game and Anerican private companies moving in fast for those tiny % able to "go private". Folks die waiting for everything and do it politely 'nanny state' sadly had an extra BAD lesson. No matter how compliant and obedient.
SORRY to rant I just did not like the innocent being duped by a scam imo.
    Patricia mid Wiltshire
