This man’s voice and diction is PERFECTION! Every syllable is pronounced, every consonant is pronounced… Everything is crisp and perfect, and yet he still sounds human. Very likable. This doctor is 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 for videos!

I think I read the avian influenza in cows has an affinity for the receptors in the mammary glands and humans have that same type of receptor in their eyes. If this is true, then it means it does not have the ability to infect nasal passages or respiratory cells, at least not yet.

I heard this as well. Specifically, I believe it came from Vincent Riccolla' podcast with Dr. Griffith citing either CDC or other source.

I'm not sure if the regs state this or not, however at this point Ag Department and CDC should propagate regulations requiring hand and eye personal protection as well as hand disinfection after dealing with cattle as a precaution. Also, a quick field test and a reg requiring 'isolation' of infected animals from the herd should be mandated. In the areas of human transmission from cows or other domestic animals random animal testing as well as referral to county, state, federal Public health or all human acquired eye infection with samples mandated for testing when conjunctivitis is found in a human (independent of whether cow influenza is the suspected cause or not). The idea of locate health care being required to take and submit sample swabs is to determine whether or not the variety of bird flu eye infection is a background effect that is only now being picked up due to increased surveillance or if we have a more exotic disease transmission newly occurring and quickly detected due to increased Public health scrutiny for Avian influenza. Is is possible this is a surveillance affect with random cow transmission of avian influenza to human conjunctiva being a historical occurrence.

Let's hope that human-to-human transmission never gains traction given that the world has effectively surrendered to COVID-19.

SARS and MERS outbreaks both were contained. The last 10 years + of political hysteria and politicalization of scientific issues was and is a disaster, stupidity and the ultimate example of 'herd mentality' leading the lemmings to run off the cliff w/o regard for facts. Had COVID-19 occurred prior to the late 1990's , I believe the infection might have been contained or the government unfettered by both the depressing and misleading affects of internet and 24 hour news MIGHT have limited the exposure of the American public.

    How many cows were infected?
What was his job on the farm?
It's every pink eye infection showing up on the doctor's office being tested?
Are the farm dogs being tested?
They put vitamin d in milk but are they checking vitamin d levels of the cows themselves?
Any mention of the vitamin d status of the infected guy?
There are studies of vitamin d in the eye and inflammatory responses.
    Could you look into that?

@@mballerit does not appear to be killing cattle, as it does birds and other mammals. I believe in cows it is attracted and found in the mammary glands which is why the production and quality of milk is negatively affected. In other animals it affects/infects different tissues. Some animals are asymptomatic, too, but can still carry/transmit the virus, similar to what were learned about SARS-COViD2-2019. It has killed quite a few cats on dairy farms, but cats also hunt birds. Birds may share water sources on a farm with cows, sit on the feed and eat some as the cattle are eating, and sometimes chicken poop is mixed into cow food (ick) as a cheap source of added nutrients. The virus is in bird urine and poop, as well as their tissues. It has been more deadly as is jumped from farmed birds to wild birds. That is my understanding.

Why blame anyone! Humans are not the brightest at times mistakes are made. If the forest fire smoke was extreme perhaps a mask was in order while lawn mowing. Ranting at a neighbor usually doesn't end well. There is always hope for tomorrow 😉
