What a timely video! I leave in two days for Greece. It’s a solo trip I take every summer for a workshop and R&R! I have two dresses, three pants, five tops, a hat, umbrella, two swimsuits, three sandals (sturdy ones for slippery steps and hiking (Mephistos and KEENS)) and roll up totes for groceries (I’m staying six weeks and have food allergies so I cook for myself most of the time). Toiletries, beach towels, swim shoes I buy there. One checked bag, one small roller bag for incidentals and my workshop supplies. I pack early and go through my stuff a few times taking things out! I have so many connections, small planes with steps luggage needs carried up, and ferries, that it’s necessary. This year especially I find the trip complicated and long. I’m calling it my Odyssey! It’s always worth it! Have a wonderful time!
Great video. I am going to Greece in October. Wherever I travel, layering is important. I bring a cartigan as well as a light weight "travel" raincoat and umbrella of course. Everything mixes and matches, solid color tops and pants. Although I'd love to wear more attractive shoes, I tend to be practical, knowing I'll do a lot of walking, I wear comfortable shoes with a "good" grip along with "slip" on casual shoes. What I find handy is a very small back pack for the day trips we'll be doing. Everything fits in a small "weekender" suitcase.
I travel to Greece for 6 weeks at a time with carryon only. I always bring a white pashmina with me for warmth and cover up. Also as I travel later in the year, I pack a light down jacket in a zip case. Takes very little room and is handy if I get stuck somewhere on the trip home :)
As a Greek man. I only take the essentials, and military roll everything. Twice the clothes, less space occupied. And only take the essentials. Now that it's summer. Take only shirts, t-shirts,and maybe a long pair of pants just in case
Thanks for some great advise. My trip to Crete and Corfu is planned for the fall of 2023, 5 days each, and will be my first trip abroad. Saved your video as a great packing reference. I actually started my list already. The large scarf was genius for so many useful reasons ….. ✅……. it’s now on my list. Thanks!
My suitcase is an Osprey Meridian, they don't make anymore. The toiletries are on freebie pouches from make-up purchases. The foldable bag is Longchamp. The unwrinkleable jacket is Cabi but it's several seasons old...the material is ponte so look for that.
Thank you for this vid! Greece is on my 5 year list💜. I also take a very small umbrella and as i go solo a lot i also bring a 1000 lumen small compact flashlight (comes in handy for safety as it can be temporarily blinding and when i was in costa rica it helped me to see a really large raccoon that was on the dark path from my room to the main restaurants lol - i was able to go back where i came from to let it go past)
I've traveled quite a bit and it amazes me that some women wear uncomfortable clothing while on a plane especially if its a long distance travel. I always wear either jeans or leggings on a flight.
A very informative video Jocelyn, we love it. By the way, you look great, you have that sparkle in your eyes. Travel is back. Sending you guys lots of love😍😍 Harriet , Jim and Yuki. Richmond. Va.
Hi Jocelyn! Greetings from Vero Beach. I love your channel and enjoy the great info you & your husband provide. MY QUESTIONS: What type of container do you put your jewelry in so it doesn't take up lots of space? What jewelry do you bring? I don't want to stand out as a tourist with my clothes and jewelry. I'm going on a Mediterranean cruise either in the spring or fall & it will be my first trip to Europe. The best of success to you & your family.
I have a small cloth jewelry roll. 1. I don't take anything of much value 2. I keep it in my carry on. Do not pack important valuables under the plane!
We are so curious if you have a power converter you recommend. You showed a pink dryer/straighter in one video and it didn’t work in ours when we last went to Italy. Love LOVE your videos.
Cant wait to go back to Greece. Did a ionian island tour and squeezed in Delphi and Athens too. This time i want to do Crete and maybe a few Cyclades islands
When you talk about the dress that’s at the tailors it says “how the make a great airbnb” but I can’t for the life of me find that episode. Is there a link?
Wow cool Greece is on my bucket list! Is there anytime I’d tear where airline tickets aren’t quite as expensive and would you recommend that I do a guided tour w ferry’s and different cities ?or just book things individually?
We'll be headed to Greece next month for 12 nights and traveling with carry-on only. It will be our first time there and we are really looking forward to it. You said carry on but then you said you will check your suitcase? Is that only on the way home because you'll be bringing lots more stuff home?
What is the brand and name of the folded bag you mentioned as your carry on? I’ve watched it twice and can’t seem to identify it and it’s not mentioned in the information section of the video
Excepting some basic clothing, don’t get anything for a Greek vacation. One thing though: diet 2-3 months before going in Greece as the food there is to die for…
As a Greek person my advise is bring sunscreen!!!!! for love of god, if I was given a cent for every completely red and burned tourist I have ever seen I woyld be filthy rich so please sun is dangerous!!! Also bring COMFORTABLE shoes because probably you going to walk a lot. Bring clothes for sunny and hot days but bring and something for the evening and night that probably is going to be a little windy sometimes. And most important have fun 😊❤️!!!

It would have been nice if you mentioned the brand of bags, toiletry kits, unwrinkable jacket, etc. you use.

Awesome video and Happy Memorial day weekend
Thank you
This video is EXACTLY what I need! I’m going to Greece in October and you gave me the confidence to travel with just a carry on. Thanks!
I'm going in October also, first timer here. Hope you have a great trip!
OMG THANK YOU!!!!! I am going to Greece in a few months and was waiting to catch a live stream to ask this very question! haha

I saw a 'travel expert' recently recommend wearing a romper on the plane. 🤣🤣 what a stupid, stupid idea. Can you imagine in an airplane bathroom? 😅

thanks for the note about tampons, would never have though to check that in advance

MUCH LOVE FROM RHODES HELLAS(GREECE).
Love the suitcase! What brand is that?
I was wondering too...
Osprey Meridian. They don't make mine anymore but the Osprey wheeled Transporter is a close substitute.
Wow cool Greece is on my bucket list! Is there anytime I’d tear where airline tickets aren’t quite as expensive and would you recommend that I do a guided tour w ferry’s and different cities ?or just book things individually?
I love the idea of carry only. But I always wonder how you pack so much in and keep under the weight restrictions for carry on.
Roll it all!
