Hi again, I just read some of your replies as to weather in first part of October. I will pack a "light" cardigan and I have a travel lightweight rain jacket with hood. I'll bring a mix of sleeveless and shorter sleeve tops too.
That's perfect! It might get a bit windy, so a light cardigan will serve you well.
Can you recommend any of your favorite stores to purchase a bathing suit or coverups while in Greece ? Specifically in Mykonos, Milos and Santorini?

If you love them - you definitely can. I just got back from Naxos and Paros, brought with me 1 pair of high heels and ended up wearing sandals the entire time. However, I did see a few girls in heels. So it's a personal choice.

How do you bring home a beautiful straw bag if you already have a carry on without crushing it?
I would go for the one you can easily fold without crushing it. Same for the straw hats.

I would recommend to watch this video where I go into more details: ruclips.net/video/O4Hbp8Kawas/видео.html But overall for men I would recommend linen/ cotton shorts, shirts, pants and t-shirts. Also, loafers, tennis shoes, hats and sunglasses.

What weather can we expect if visiting in mid-October?
I'm glad I clicked. I'm planning on packing very light for Greece, and you just reminded me that I can SHOP when I get there! So, now I'm inspired to pack EVEN LESS! I'll definitely get some linen pants, maybe a swimsuit and cover up when I get there. (I always just buy soap, hairgel and conditioner at my destination, saves so much space).

It is not advisable to pack one like that to steam clothes! It is space consuming!

Yes, you can definitely swim in November, especially the first half of the month. Usually, you will get a mix of warm sunny days and rain, so I would bring a good mix of clothes.
Hi, I am so excited to go to Greece early Fall and have never been there. (I've been to Italy many times). I agree with you about mixing/matching outfits. Mostly visiting the mainland, but will also visit Crete. I am looking forward to tasting Greek wines.

Thanks for a great, informative video! Should I be buying all my linen clothing in Greece while I’m there? I have a hard time finding much linen here in the USA. I guess I should just leave room in my suitcase?
Good question! Also, i wonder if they have bigger sizes in linen aswell
@@moongodess639 just came back from Greece and larger sizes aren't common. The largest size I ever found is 42 which is like an xl in US sizes? Unless it's a British shop like M&S for example expect not to find many large sizes. I'm a size 8 US and even I kinda struggled to find something cute in my size (I'm kinda curvy). Note that I'm talking about the Greek Islands, Athens would probably have a larger range of sizes!
Hi Patti! I recommend to all of my clients to get linen in Greece or Italy. Here you will find some amazing options, top quality and much better prices comparing to the U.S. So, definitely leave some room in your suitcase ;)

Hi Keila! It's still nice and warm in October. I would bring a good mix of clothes though, as the temperature tends to drop during the evenings.

The weather in October is nice. You'll most likely still be able to swim and enjoy sunshine. If it rains, it's usually just short showers.
All linen and some cottons makes my skin itch, I am more comfortable wearing viscose
In your experience, are a lot of the shops closed in October? My family and I plan on visiting Greece mid to late October next year.
Depends on the island, but most of them are open until the end of September.

What do you wear around 3rd week of October in Greece?
Bring a good mix of clothes as it will be warm during most of the days and chilly in the evenings.

It's a long story.... But I first came to Italy when I was 19. I did a study abroad for a year at the American University of Rome. And then it took me over a decade to figure out how to get back to Rome and actually build a life here.

How huge is the culture shock between nations , and do you have any black friends with experience that you can share ?
You would have to definitely create your own monetary opportunity or get transferred with a job to Italy as finding one here is pretty much mission impossible. Unless, you teach English. The culture shock depends on the person but there is definitely one. I do have a few African Americans friends here and they are doing very well. Hope that helped.
