The fact that a Toyota Camry is even touching $40k in America is ridiculous… think about that.

I like this version but I think I would still get the Accord as it is well refined and the hybrid system acts like an EV so it is well refined as well. Mpg goes to Camry though poo

I was just turned off by the Accord's options/packages in the mid trim space. For around 33~34k, accord (sport hybrid) options are just not the right priority for me. No leather seats, no heated steering wheels and heated seats, but I'm being forced into 19 inch wheels and sunroofs.
For the same price I can get the Camry XLE without options.
The accord options for 35-37k has some pros and cons, it avoids the pano sunroof on the Camry and gain memory seats and it's cheaper (also parking sensor). But Camry gain ventliated seats and upgraded speakers, rain sensing wipers and HUD.
Only at touring is where accord options becomes compelling, but it's just too expensive for me at that point.
Accord is more refined, but I don't find Camry to be particularly lacking, especially in that XLE trim with smaller wheels and softer suspension.

I have the xse with premium plus package like the one in this video but in white with the black roof. It's a comfortable car to drive and has great power and gas mileage. As much as I love this car, I do agree with the review. I too also noticed the center armrest sides sometimes dig into my arm lol The car is loud on the freeway above 70 mph and the build quality is not what toyota used to be. I do love this car so I'm going to keep it and am working on sound proofing it. I've already replaced the loud bridgestones which helped got rid of some of the road noise. Recently added sound deadening to the wheel wells and that quiet down quite a bit on the freeway. I'll get the doors done soon. I chose this over the accord hybrid because I wanted the 360 camera and pano roof, something I've always wanted. Plus I personally prefer the look of the camry over the accord.

Did you change the tire size though? Should have gotten 17 inch tires for a quieter ride (or even 16).

I’m currently renting a base LE during my trip, drove it an hour to my destination through Atlanta and actually impressed by it, especially to be the base model. Full of features, and plenty of pep for a hybrid; only issue I have is its immense body roll, but otherwise I see why it’s still the best “automotive appliance.”, especially having owned 3 as a HS/college student in the 80s/90s, when I was a true “Camry enthusiast.”

I wonder how the steering is. Is it lighter, or is it heavy like the old version of the Camry?

Charlie, Apparently, the Australians🦘 are hopping mad because they can't get their Camry with 'Ocean Gem' turquoise paint or AWD.😡
I know for a fact Canadians 🦫are damn incensed because they can't get a Camry LE. 🤬
We are going to have to politely agree to disagree about those ridiculous 19" rims. After all, this is a prosaic Camry not a Porsche Cayman. 🤣

The grill like dash kills it for me. The front grill is not big enough already, they have to put more grill inside.

I would add the lack of headroom as a major con. I just cannot fit in the vehicle, and it is even worse with the sunroof.

🇺🇲. Great look at the new Camry. I pick up a SE with extras. I never expected a WOW from it. Solid, dependable, reasonably affordable. cost effective. Limited maintenance. Longevity. But never WOW.
Unless somebody was saying wow look. That refrigerator has wheels.

Not saying this is not true but either you just got a bad apple, or you may have got previous year model, or you came from a luxury car at which point Camry feels loud and unrefined. Not defending Camry either though but just saying, for most people who were used to drive 10 year old RAV4s and such, this is really a refined and tech heavy car.
