Follow along as we continue to develop a little homestead in the mountains of Appalachia.
Haha, this neighbor cracks me up "it will be alright, let the kids test it out" ....lol
I know you have had a few challenges, but your new life looks like it's agreeing with you and your family.
I'm starting to like those 2 buddies of yours Jeremy 😂😂😂😂
Rick Ross - And we’ll name them ‘The Barn Boys’. 🤣
Lol, "it'll be alright, well let the kids test it out" that's awesome!
"It'll be aight, we'll let the kids test it" lol
looks like lots of fun. good to see the whole family out and about.
Yowzer! The three amigos attached the clampey thing to the tree saver, the do ma flatchy and the thing-a-ma-bob and made a zip line! Looks like fun!
A zip line on your own property? I’m jealous. You crazy kids
Y'ALL ARE ADVENTUROUS, SMART, BOLD, BRAVE, DETERMINED, CREATIVE, UNSTOPPABLE, AND A TAD CRAZY :)
I WOULDA JUST PUT IN A POOL AND CALLED IT ENTERTAINMENT. LOVE THE ZIP LINE THOUGH.
What a great new toy to have in your back yard ... was loads of fun watching the set up and especially learning of times gone by from the old homestead .... im sure many a night will be spent sipping over that old creek ... a big thanks to "Zipline Gear" for providing the entertainment ..
😊👍🏻😉
Came for the cooking videos way back, stayed for the Jamie-style house remodeling lessons.
If you see pyrite I’d pan. Gold is often near by.
Cool zip line.
So cool, love you guys and you always have the best informative videos. Nice to see some fun happening👍
Good old fashion fun! No batteries, no electronics. The water hazard (AKA pond) will make for an awesome addition on a hot day. Can you use the spool that the cable came on to wind up the retrieval rope? Attach a carriage bolt with a PVC pipe handle to the spool and hand crank the seat back up?
That’s a darn good idea 💡👍🏻
@@Guildbrookfarm On my setup as a kid, we had a full length retrieval rope but had the shock cord integrated in to it as well. That way you don't need the third tree. It was all at the top of the run too, nothing but an emergency stop block at the bottom. All attached to the trolley that way it's out of the way.
Good to see you all having a good time!
Hey, it's great to see you guys, and good to see you having fun! Now get back to work. :)
we had a graduation party at a lake for my niece and they had a zip line about 250 feet that went over the lake . had too much fun you guys will too.
I like seeing old homesites like that. Might be worth someone's time to hit that one with a metal detector. Also, gold can be associated with iron pyrite- don't know much about NC's geology though.
Last, but not least; this has to be one of your all time coolest videos. Zip line over the crick? Hell ya!!
We’re definitely taking the metal detector down there. 👍🏻
@@Guildbrookfarm Sweet! Good luck. Find something good and give us an update.
This makes me think of one of those "Hold my beer and watch this" viral videos. Fun!
Nothing better than a zip line! Woooo hoooo! Good times, good times! Lol! Read the directions!?! What’s up with that!?!
Looks like a lot of fun! Hope things are going well with your family and future home building.
that is such a cool gun holster! 😍

What fun! The guys did great getting that up & going. Very cool!
Bahaha!!! I just almost spewed my coke! "It'll be alright. We'll let the kids test it out." That's awesome! I've been planning a zip line for a while now, but haven't settled on buying parts and piecing it together or buying a branded kit. Keep us informed. :)
Looks like so much fun! Really cool!
what fun, and what a beautiful setting for your recreation.
Omg! So much fun! I'm officially jealous! Btw, your friend is hilarious!
I love your neighbors! Beautiful spot and great video!!
:) You never run out of new Ideas :)
I lived in North Carolina for six years and really I did not have a good time living there. But one of the really good times that I did have was my husband and I are panning for gems in the cricks in North Carolina. At the time we had our precious puppy Ada who lived to be almost 13 years old and she was a boxer. Actually she was bought at this family owned a pet store that has it been in business for like 40 years. It was right outside of Asheville I can’t remember the name of the town.
Good neighbors, beautiful location. So nice to see you all having some fun, (after all your hard work). Loved the bit at the end ("redecorating- ehh")!😄
momma's got some muscle..........and a gun.....beautiful. enjoy the new toy guys.......remember,it can also be used as a tool!!!
I love this channel! You look like you had a lot of fun doing that. :-)
It was pretty awesome 😊
RIGHT ON MAN GREAT TO SEE YOU
Awesome...excellent skills guys and what a blast y'all will have!! That place is beautiful!!!!
Nice to see you all enjoying yourselves 👍😜💚💜❤
Love your videos! You guys are true Americans 2nd amendment, Hard work, and a little fun along the way! Can’t wait to see your finished homestead house. Thank you
Now Garret needs to send you a metal detector for the old home site. Maybe Auqachigger or nuggetnoggin will come hunt the site for you for a colaberation vid.
Guildbrook Farm sure knows how to have fun!
THAT WAS AWESOME!!!! THANKS FOR THE RIDE!!!!!
Great to see you guys having some fun!
Never saddle a dead horse. Good way to remember what end of the cable gets the saddle.
Why didn't we get to see the guys try it out????? Cool beans y'all. Looks like fun!
What a beautiful place and so much fun!!
Fun! I zipped in Cost Rica too. What a blast that was!
With the zip line down around the old homestead, be nice to fix up that fireplace for an outdoor patio to use while yall are entertaining there. Few flat stones on the ground, picnic table and home built grill and it is the perfect and beautiful spot for some summer fun.
Make sure to line your new pond with sodium bentonite. It's been around since the 1800's and was originally used by mining companies to water proof their tunnels. Today its used to line the ponds on golf courses all over the United States. If the pond is strategically located, it could also be used to help fight forest fires using a portable water pump.
Looks fun for sure! Thanks for sharing.
I enjoyed the homestead tour. I'm a history buff
Loved the “redecorating” the best!
Great video. I would've thought that you just needed a bully and some cable, but this kit is well done. Not cheap, but safer and complete.
Wheeee !!!! What a great spot for a zip line.
It really is pretty perfect. 👍🏻😊
Nice😆
That looks like a lot of fun.
Warms up up in the southern hemisphere where we just had the longest night.
Happy summer from New Zealand!
The North Carolina gold rush only ended due to the California Gold Rush. That creek probably still has some good gold in it.
So fun. Have a great 4th. Blessing to you all.
Love that, "It'll be alright!" Wish he was my neighbor!
So awesome zip lines are so fun...such a beautiful area...decorating with chain saw 😁😂😂
🤷🏼♂️
Looks like a lot of fun for everyone! Would be an awesome place to metal detect. I see you're already finding treasures with that spoon and knife! You guys definitely have a slice of Heaven there.
Super cool!! Have had one on my list of things to get. Enjoy!! Nice to see the Girls.

Aloha! Love your video with the family, keep it rolling
The creek was also the refrigerator prior to the availability of block ice for the ice box.
Yep
How fun! My sister has a zip line at her place.
I need one of those about 1/4 mile long.
this made me smile, today .. ty
Fantastic! Some good summer fun :)
That looks like fun!!!!
Wow! What fun you're going to have! Super Cool!😊
Looks like so much fun !!! Love your videos....
That looks fun for everyone. By the way Jamie I ordered the Pacsafe Metrosafe a few weeks ago using your link. It was the best price out there after all. I am very happy with it. I use it everyday. After watching your Napal video I also bought a small emergency hand crank radio with a very loud alarm to carry in it also. Im glad you showed us that bag.
Awesome 😎👍🏻
That looks like a lot of fun!!!
glad to see y'all having fun!!!
Good job all/teamwork👍👍
That looked like a lot of fun
good job on installing have lots of fun
You'll probably use it about 10 times and then it will sit there like the swing. I have too many of those things around the place already.
Cool !!
🤣 Redecorating 😂
Classic. 💕
Cool zip line.
You should call in Nugget Noggin, who is on RUclips, to metal detect the old homestead for you. He lives in North Carolina.
It's sooo beautiful there. Jaime, when are you going to show us how you shoot your 45? :-)
You should definitely do some metal detecting! We did some at an unexplored cave in Missouri once and found so many neat things!
Hey Guildbrooksters ..... looks like a blast! Yep ... a pond to drop into would be great. Have fun & take care.
So fun! Glad you all have some awesome neighbors 😊 haha redecorating I love that!
We’ll let the kids test it out😂
For the brake bungee, if you have another tree on each side of the zip line near the end, run a small length of cable between them overtop of the zip line cable and attach a pulley to a fixed point in the middle of it. Then run your bungee from the tree at the end of your zip line through the pulley and then double back to your brake block. This way almost all the slack can be out behind the stop block where you’re not going to hit it/get tangled in it. It’s what the professional commercial zip line operators have as a setup when I’ve seen them use the bungee brake system.
Yep, hand tools and brute strength! But they might've had help from neighbours for some of the most brutal bits and in turn would've helped them to build their homes. Weren't they brave though back then? They certainly chose a lovely spot for their home. Pythagoras to the rescue lol. That looks like great fun, will you need to re-tension the line before you use it the first few times?
TY for this post, but I miss your posts! We want more
So cool, I watch your videos all the time, I love what you guys do.
I just bought a small property in Hays Nc, maybe 60 min from Hiddenite ,NC?
That is awesome!
I went ziplining in Costa Rica also. Amazing experience.
Fun stuff.
Sweetie! better then family and neighbor fun.
I need that zipline to my mancave!
Thanks for showing the process for putting this together, have a great place to put one up here for my girls and my grandchildren and great granddaughter, I do believe that it will be a very worn spot before too long, grandma is competing with technology 😊 Love the way you "decorate" Jamie, too cool, seen a few ask why you carry, all I can say is, just think about it, you live where there are rattle snakes and copperheads, and have 2 growing girls, who are bright and beautiful, doesn't hurt to show that you mean to take care of yourself and them by any means necessary, you have to be that way this day and age, alot of strange people today, some flat out crazy, probably get alot of slack for that but oh well, it is what it is I guess, but me, nothing I won't do to prepare and to provide and protect my family, anyways 😊 take care and God Bless ❤️ thanks again for showing the process on this, I think that the kids are going to be looking forward to it
Awesome fun!!👍
NICE
