Congratulations on the video. My name is Germano. I'm from Brazil - Rio de Janeiro I need to build a zip line for the kids in my backyard. The distance between the wooden posts is 20 meters. What would be the height to be installed the steel cables so that children do not collide with the pole? Could inform me.
Thanks for the video Nathan - very useful. Approximately where is the low point of the run along the cable on a typical run? The terrain I am installing mine on is very uneven with some high and low points along it's length and I need to determine the length along the run where the low point is due to cable sag to be able to calculate the anchor point heights. The run is 120 feet and I have picked a figure of 90 feet from the start for the low point but I'm not sure how accurate that is and don't want the rider to bottom out on the ground.
It seems like a perfect explanation to me. If you did not understand it, it seems you being able to construct one is unlikely and could result in injury.
this video was super clear & helped a ton. Thanks for posting.
Excellent explaination of stuff I didn’t know how to figure out
Thank you! Very clear explanation.
How do you calculate stress on the line (tensions, gravity, weight of rider, etc) I'm trying to calculate sufficient anchors weights
After 3 years still usefull :) you got a sub :)
Starting my back yard zip line build tomorrow. I have an elevation change of roughly 6'.
What is the max length of a zipline?for a certain mass??
What size cable did you use?

Hi we plan to install zip line in philippines, and we need the zip line material and consulations
Could I anchor it to my roof?

And I just re-watched the video and heard the comment about it being 3/4 of the way down  At least I was correct in my assumption :D

You never give us an answer!
Everyonesituation is different, therefore, one would need to calculate for their specifics.
Absolutely the worst description and saying nothing at the same time.

If you can't understand this don't install a zipline until you do! OR get someone who is capable.
Ha, you could be describing your own comment... it would make more sense that way, lol.
