  • My John Deere LA130 mower has lasted 17 years so far and I keep replacing old parts to nurse it through each season. The front tires are dry rotted and no longer hold air so I'm installing inner tubes to get at least another year out of them.

    Agreed, I'm tired of slime in the tires. You got plenty of tread left on those tires

    Making inner tubes 🤘🏻METAL 🤘🏻again!
    I need to replace my front tires.....getting bald. I've gotten 23 years out of them and still holding wind. I guess I could try and cut some tread back into them to get another 23 years out of 'em!! lol Thanks for the content brother!

    You might want to add FlatOut to those inner tubes. FlatOut will plug many punctures.

    I tried tubes but I have cactus all over and they just go through everything. I got flat free tires for the front but so far I can't find no flats for the back tires. Still looking. Those cactus spines are vicious!!!!

    The hard part is putting those slip washers back on. That's the hardest part I've had messing with those tires.

    Be aware of new tubes leaking in the seams . The last two I’ve put in lasted about 3 days and flat. Tiny pin holes in the seam

    Use baby powder on the tub next time, it will allow the tub to move inside the tire and reduce friction.

    I would have like to see you putting on the E clip for the tires, it was a pain in the butt on my mower.

    What an excellent idea. Too bad you can’t do that with car tires.

    Inner tubes are a good idea, but hanging tires with hand tools is not fun, thank goodness it's only a once in a while project.

    Wait a minute, I have to go down to Lowes or Home Depot and pick up a few tools and supplies that I dont have for my tube installation and since I am there .....just a couple of things I don't have to have . I am not saving nothing , my savings is spent before I walk out the door, it should be a crime to post these videos !

      @@Guildbrookfarm if the WD40 contains petroleum, it could degrade the tube rubber if gets on. I worked at a utility rubber test lab and any petroleum contact on rubber blankets or gloves would blister the surface. Even some baby powder used to have petroleum contents. We also sold used transformer mineral oil to the makers of WD40 years ago so it may not be as bad as motor oil or axle grease exposure. Great video. As others have stated, current inner tube quality is very poor.

    Something is wrong with your math. You saved $108 not $50!!
    New tires=$36. Pair of tubes=$18 or $9 each.
    $36x4 new tires=$144.
    $9x4 tubes=$36
    Difference=$108
