      I don’t know the model but it’s a 10” saw and awesome. I got the rip fence at Lowe’s a long time ago.

    Looks like a nice unit. I use a Harbor FT. Predator 3500 Watt inverter generator at my off grid TN home. It has over 500 hours so far runs great. I have used it many times at its 25 amp limit no issue's I also have the older 2500 watt unit that was discontinued ,runs great also. Plus a 7000 watt 220 volt Harbor FT. unit almost 11 years old still runs like new. Thanks for showing this unit.

    If you look at time stamp 1:09 step 3 says hook up the battery. there is your instruction telling you to step one, add gas. Step two add oil. Step 3 hook up the battery.

    On the tag that was on your gas tank, the third direction was to hook up the battery. First was gas, second was oil and third is the battery. I saw that when you unboxed it.

    I had the Honda 2000i like the one you had. The Honda is much more portable and Really Really quiet. I noticed you didn’t speak while this generator was running but you can still have a conversation with the Honda running. All that noise would give me a headache very soon. The Honda had enough power to run the tools you used. For me the HONDA WINS HANDS DOWN. Where yours wins though is it’s FREE! I can’t argue free is best.

    Top tip; when using a holesaw, first drill a 3/8" or 1/2" hole or few just inside the circumference line and it helps to clear the waste and prevents burning and clogging of the teeth, particularly in a drill press (or pillar drill as we call them in Britain), when you're drilling dead square to the surface. I've been a cabinet maker and joiner for over 30 years and only saw that tip recently. Makes it much easier. Otherwise, as shown, rocking the cutter as you drill by hand also helps if the hole doesn't need to be accurate.

    Hell of a gift , little over a grand on Amazon , the battery that comes with that gen is pretty cheap and will go dead fast , if youre going let it set for a while , pull the battery and hook it to a solar trickle charger . and the battery hook ups themselves will put a trickle charge to it while running , in a pinch you could make little jumper cables and charge another battery with it if you misplace the 12v charging cable that came with it

      A lot of those filters come pre-oiled from the factory. Mine did. It's worth taking the time to touch it first and see if it's oily. They have a nice oil spray available for those filters.

    There is a very nice cozy feeling having a whisper quiet - clean power - inverter generator around .. I have two of them, 2200 and 2300 and a good 10 gauge cord feeding building through a 12 gauge three way splitter. I keep about fifteen gallons of stabilized gas on hand which will give me many days of power during an outage. Thanks for excellent demo .. I really like the "ultra quiet" sound of that Energizer inverter.

    Recently bought a 3200 and just added an evp2000 to the stable to run in parallel for the RV. Impressed with the quality, low noise and ease of parralleling setup. With Honda you make seven connections, and the energizer needs only three and no tools required (Honda requires a tool for two connections). The price makes it a no brainer.
    My favorite generator of all time though, the Predator 4000. $290 on sale, light enough to move without a wheel kit, and noise level well within acceptable. The older ones were not parrallel capable, and thus I went with the energizer brand. (Spousal unit gets a great discount where she works and couldn't pass it up.)

    Jeremy ... 1:08 - 1:10 ... You may have missed it while you were doing the video, but, on the yellow tag attached to the gas cap, it does tells you to attach the battery. "Add gas, add oil, connect battery". I want to thank you for going through each step. That was VERY helpful. Also, I would not have known to "dress" the filter with oil, either. IIs there an oil gauge on it? Or does it have a dip stick? How do you know how much oil to put in?*

    • @Guildbrookfarm
      @Guildbrookfarm  5 лет назад +3

      Yeah I totally didn’t read that yellow tag 🙃. It has a little dipstick and takes .6 liters.

      Thank you! A generator is the next large purchase on my agenda. I hope to have it before the snow flies. I did check out the price on the Energizer, and it's $1050. less than the Honda I had my eye on. *I have another question for you ... If I buy the Energizer, then somewhere down the road I buy a different brand, is it still possible to hook the two together?*

    • @Guildbrookfarm
      @Guildbrookfarm  5 лет назад

      I’m not sure. It’s like a little junction box with 2 leads coming out of it for 2 generators but I don’t know if it works with other brands or is a standard type of connection. I’ve never had to parallel 2 together. This one will run our whole place by itself.

    I see the Honda / Yamaha fans are calling it and generators like mine junk because we don't pay 2 1/2 times the price for them.
    My Westinghouse 2200 I got on sale and with a coupon for $400 total and shipped to me.
    It really cranks out 1800 watts continuous like it claims and all tests I put it through it passed with flying colors.
    Then I hear, it will only last three or four years. Well, that remains to be seen however I could use it for four years, throw it away buy another one and still have $200 in my pocket and a nice new working generator for the price of a Honda that only puts out a true 1600 watts.
    If I figure shipping and taxes on the Honda where I live, I could actually throw the second one away buy a third Westinghouse and still not be paying anymore than those people with their 1600 watt continuous Honda.
    But if you love Honda or Yamaha and have the extra money. More power to you.

    A couple of people are complaining that it's gas. Being off grid for almost 9 years, I'd say it is fine as backup when multiple cloudy days have your batteries low. I use a cheap propane backup generator.... not to run the house, but to run two Iota 24v, 25A battery chargers to top off the batteries. It's enough to charge while running the house needs. Nice video, Nice project.

      ....just looked at the specs using the link you provided. Nice generator.

  • @gordonwilloughby8793
    @gordonwilloughby8793 5 лет назад +2

    It is a nice generator. One improvement is where the oil is added and checked. The cover is put on with screws requiring a screwdriver to open the cover to add or check oil or to clean the air filter. This would be annoying particularly for checking oil. I like to check the oil every time I start a small engine. I would suggest making the cover removable with wing nuts or other method that doesn't require a screw driver or tool to open them. This generator isn't large enough for a backup generator but is nice for a camper if it can meet the power requirements of the appliances in the camper. We have a 7000 watt continuous power output generator for backup power for our home. It will run everything as long as heavy draw appliances don't all run at the same time.

    I have a Honda 2800 watt gen that I really like. I do not care for a battery on a gen that small. More to keep up with and maintain.

    The automatic start is industry-leading for that size generator. However, for an inverter generator, it seems to me it is holding pretty high rpms at no load, which will consume more gas. The whole idea of an inverter generator is to rev down at no load and save fuel. Also, there is very little info on this model at present, and it remains to be seen how well it holds up. Many portable generators have trouble after a modest number of hours. I hope this one does well.

    I like the Lincoln big boy welder/generator. On the one hand you need a crane or backhoe loader to lift into place but on the other hand, for just $2,999.99 you get a beast of a 10 kW Generator that will run a whole house for 12 hours per tank of 5 gal gas (really? This heavy and they couldn’t go diesel?) or flip the switch and get a professional welder that will cut 1-1/4” steel or weld 1/8”-3/8” stick to weld anything from light sheet steel goods to heavy equipment. Lincoln hit a home run with a generator that will fit in my pickup to back up to the house hookup or go anywhere on the farm and weld anything, run anything!

    Great work Jeremy. Your tools sure make the job easy. I want to try the char stain. I like the gen too. Those fobs are a neat added bonus. Great for our farmstead.

      Shou Sugi Ban. It’s a Japanese style of preserving the wood. Looks cool too.

    Very similar to the champion 3200 except it’s duel fuel, and the no battery hook up, usually there is a tag on the unit that lets you know battery not connected. Surprised it would not start right away
