All of that patience is certainly paying off sir!! The cabinetry looks amazing!! All by yourself, which I know is soooooo difficult to do. Just gorgeous 😍
It is unbelievable how much you have done and all by yourself. You are amazing. This kitchen is going to be fantastic when you are finished.
I love how you go through the WHOLE install.
7:30 We have the same situation in our kitchen. The vent register is right at your feet when standing at the sink. It's a nice feature in the mornings especially because it warms the feet. The only downside is that it keeps the trash cabinet a tad warm so the garbage stinks sooner.
Looking beautiful! Hi 👋 to Jaime and the girls!!! 💜
Looks GREAT! Your attention to detail is impressive!
Your attention to detail and precision in measuring reminds me of my husband. Everything has to be with 1/16 of an inch or it gets redone. Jamie is blessed to have someone who cares so much to do it right the first time instead of let things slide.
Jeremy, you are a handy, and patient man. It's looking great! I like the Guildbrook Farm sign too :)
Beautiful work, Jeremy. Awesome.
You are doing an incredible job. The house is beautiful.
We greatly appreciate the detail put into this video. As someone looking at doing a similar DIY kitchen, the little things you run into are what worry me. You do a great job of explaining everything.
Thank you!
I love watching your house come together. Great job.
She is gonna love the kitchen especially the pot filler when she cans. Love it.
If it needs to be perfect, Jeremy's your guy!
Wow, just phenomenal! It's coming together after all this time finally kitchen cabinets are in.. its beginning to feel real and it's not even me moving in 😂🤣
Great job Jeremy!
Can't wait!
My goodness. You have done a fantastic job. I can't wait to see it finished.
It looks amazing. Great having the laser and ingenious use of clamps. Thanks for sharing the adventure.
You make your family proud im sure! Good job!
This is going to be fabulous! I am so excited for your family! Love how your mind works!!
I am so impressed that you put this all together all by yourself!! And so perfectly!!
Looking great. It is going to be beautiful.
That would be such an honour to work and cook in that kitchen, it is just so gorgeous.
Hello
Thank God for hillbilly know how!!
Thank you for sharing !!
You have no idea how much your teaching has helped me and others on the way to making our dreams come to light!!!!
Again thank you guys so very much for sharing!!
As always, FASCINATING! Thingies are important 😉
I JUST got finished watching The Fixer do the exact same thing to his kitchen. 😀😀
I love watching these videos! 🥰
Looking excellent. Thank you for sharing.
This kitchen is starting to look so good!
Well done, fantastic work. As the saying goes: “I could watch ( good) work all day long!” Thank for explaining each step🍂🍁👍
Perfection and beautiful. WOW
It is nice to see actual plywood boxes instead of the crummy partical board cabinets
YOU ARE AMAZING!! Thank you for all of your videos, I hate to see them end as they go by so fast.
It's looking great man. Can't wait to see them with doors and hardware!
Wahoo the cabinets are going in! Pretty soon y'all will be in the house. Jeremey they look very nice! good job.😍
Concrete mike here, I’m excited for you, I know your getting so close to getting it done!! It’s absolutely amazing everything you and your wife have done! Hope all is well!!!!
Really a beautiful build. I learn something every time I watch.
I think that’s what has kept me watching over the years, first with Jamie’s chicken and goat videos and then with the build. You’re a good instructor, as is Jamie. I hope ya”ll continue to share your journey- it’s interesting to watch. Thumbs up for moving forward and Hillbilly Engineering!
Those blum hinges are a joy to work with. Their undermount drawer rails equally so. I highly recommend both.
Awesome job Jeremy.. Blessings
Wow.. you did this with no help.. awesome job. You guys will love that pot filler..
Have a good evening 🍁🍁🍁
Great job Jeremy!
Can’t wait to see the canning kitchen!
Love your attention to detail, can't wait to see everything finished. I know it's going to be amazing
Looking good. Like a puzzle being put together
Very impressive installation.
Thanks for showing the shimming…was curious about that!
When you make your faux box you might think about making the front a hidden door for another area of storage. A magnetic closure that you push to open and close. Hinges at the top or specialty hinges that would hold the door open. I'd also leave the top of the box open so that you have all the space above that will be behind the crown molding you mentioned.
Overall I love the kitchen thus far. I really think it is going to be an awesome central hub for your family and beautiful to boot.
My thoughts too! I hate that space above my cabinets. I store things up there I don’t use all the time. But with them being open it’s a dust collector. I always wanted to have someone make me little cabinets to fit in there.🥰
@@askedgeorgia17 - Those little nooks and crannies come in handy for all sorts of things.
Looks awesome!
AWEsome job .
........you had me at "hillbilly duct box"...I've been around since the old place. Its really cool to see how far you've come. He's to regular dudes doing amazing stuff.
I thought this was another Canadian handyman video until I saw that sidearm...murica!
Looking great! Keep up the good work.
This is so exciting!
Beautiful
Absolutely beautiful.
Thank you very much!
AMAZING!!!
Great video thanks again
Be sure your DW drain hose is directly below underside of countertop, not at bottom of cabinet.
always found it easy to install hangers first but they look great nice job
Well done! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😃🐶
Oh my goodness if it looks so good to me now I can't even think how they will look done and that hood vent cover so good I'm here eaiting
That’s a beautiful kitchen and cabinets. A little too traditional for my tastes but very nice choices. It looks happy.
Great video, keep it up! •
Live I mod starting now. Be back as soon as it is done. Really looking forward to this!
Jeremy, what in the world will you do when the house is completed...what will I do? :0)
I’ve been wondering the same thing. After a week I’ll go crazy.
I think at least a couple of hours in a recliner looking out the window or on your new porch surveying your land and views is well deserved. Im sure you will find other stuff to do.
I learned a lot ty guys for keeping the great videos going. :)
Thanks for watching. I got way too nerdy on this one. 🤣
I totally see Jamie canning at that stove... it just popped in my head. It's on.. well almost, but when she gets to it, she has some catching up to do.. She's going to need a bigger root cellar.. lolol
Love this, but I hope you more drawers in the island!!
Oh yes. There are lots.
Kitchens 101; you always install upper cabinets first. 👍
I agree. For my 38 years as a master carpenter, I always installed uppers first.
It seemed helpful for him to install lowers first since he was doing it himself, he could use lowers to stack things on to hold them up
Great job, looks fantastic. Too much math for this old brain LOL
Do you have a realistic time when this home will be completed? TIA
👌
Jeremy are you going to install a light valance above the farm sink ?
Yep
Landline phones come in handy when the power's out. But since you have solar, that isn't a problem for you guys !!!
My cell phone works without being plugged in.
@@pnwester2697 of course it does. That's how they planned it. 😀
@@pnwester2697 at least until the battery dies. Then you need a power source to charge it.
That lower end cabinet on the far left has the kick plate facing “out” and not facing in like the rest of the lowers… So I was just curious about that , Jeremy. Thx…
You seem very comfy with your firearm on your side., 😊
wow firearm I can work like that
Love that you wear your firearm on you all day & while recording. I wear mine all day, and I am a mechanic at home in the country!
Please explain to me why so many professional and home installers put in floor cabinets before putting in the floor. It makes doing the tile/wood - whatever - such a pain to do. If you have to remove/replace any of the cabinets, the flooring can be a problem with the way it fits with the new ones. Depending on the height of the flooring. If there is a dishwasher and the counter top isn't high enough, it can be a problem as well. I admit that when I redid my kitchen, I did the flooring first throughout the whole room.
I explained this. If you are installing a “fixed” floor like tile or hardwood then you could lay the flooring first and set cabinets on top of it. That can present a challenge later though if you change your flooring to something else that is a different thickness. In our case we are using vinyl plank which is a “floating floor” system and can’t have anything heavy that’s permanently installed on top of it because those fixtures prevent the floor from “floating” (expanding and contracting).
@@Guildbrookfarm Sorry about that. I don't know how I missed that. Thanks!!
I'm not an electrician so I'm not sure. But does the outlet under the sink have to be GFCI?
No. It does not. However it is on a GFCI protected circuit.
will you vent the rangehood to the roof?
oops asked to soon. seeit niw!
ok why no oven vent, let me guess its an electric oven, but why no oven vent?
Where can we order RTA cabinets? What is the best quality company to buy from?
CabinetJoint.com
Aloha!
😯👍👍👍👌
Waiting lol
What 8 jagoffs didn't like this??? You 8 probably have never screwed on a faceplate by yourselves. Geez.
It could be *Fat Finger Syndrome* for some!
How do you like your LVP floor now that you’ve had it for awhile?
Love it. Best floor I’ve ever had. Easy to clean and looks great. I’d definitely do it again. 👍🏻
@@Guildbrookfarm ok I need to get a better brand then. We had them installed in the kitchen. I’m a big girl, but they should be able to withstand a 250lb person without the tongues, snapping!
Oh yeah something isn’t right then.
@@Guildbrookfarm sorry if this is mentioned in a video somewhere already…
If you remember the brand of LVP you bought, I’d be curious to know so I can do some comparison shopping ❤️
GEM (Global Flooring)
RTA is way to go
If you want Chinese cabinetry. Support U.S. manufacturers and stop buying Chinese cabinets.
The RTA cabinets I use are made in Pennsylvania and North Carolina
@5:00 shower and change? Too bad you couldn't line up duct work with single cabinet. Great work with difficult cabinetry.
Are you going to run a water line to your fridge?
yes from underneath
Just move the duct?
There wasn’t room
personally....I think that would have been better too.......
Makes me happy to see I'm not the only cabinet guy who wears there firearm all day lol
You wanna run those numbers by me one more time?
🤣
My brain hurts!
Mine too
I don't understand the whole 'appliance garage' thing. It's wasted counter space. If the 'garage' is to hide appliances that are rarely used......surely those can be put elsewhere (lazy suz; bottom cab of the island??). If it's to 'hide' appliances that are used daily.......if they are used daily, what's the point in 'hiding' them, since they'll be out/in use throughout the day? And be kept on the counter, in that corner, when in use. EVERY INCH of counter space is like GOLD, for me, because I have (literally) ZERO. (2 sq ft of counter to the left of my sink = ZERO! lol)
And when cooking or canning.....one could move the appliances from that corner and utilize that whole counter, from the right of the cook top to the 'sink wall'. My free-standing stove has NOTHING on either side. And it's maddening trying to cook (I cook from scratch) ANYTHING. I don't even call that (my) room a 'kitchen', because it's not. It's just a room with a sink, fridge & stove in it. (and kitchen table/chairs, of course). I LOVE to cook; but end up swearing my head off just about every time that I do. COUNTER SPACE is EVERYTHING!! lol
They are installing a Island unit also, so will have plenty of counter top space I imagine. I rather like the 'appliance garage' space useful for say a heavy food mixer or such which can be slide out when needed.
My wife was a huge fan of appliance garage because it allowed her to store a heavy mixer in a way she could pull it out and use it without having to lift it or get me to lift it from secondary storage. You know the rule: Happy Wife, Happy Life....
@@Roger-gs5ew But the cook top is NOT ON the island. You're obviously not a cook. lol I have to walk back/forth from my stove to my kitchen table, when cooking, and it's maddening! I want 'everything that I NEED', right there, next to my stove, when cooking/canning. If I'm dredging (flour/egg/bread crumbs) something, I want all 3 'dishes' 'RIGHT THERE', where I'm cooking. And when done cooking, a plate to put things on, right near my cook top. One needs SPACE, for that. Not 'back/forth' from the cook top to an island. My own personal preference.....I'd rather have the counter space than the 'convenience ' of an 'appliance garage'.
@@DawnieRotten Actually I do most of the cooking, and certainly do not get stressed out when cooking, however we each have our own preferences in design and layout.😁
@@DawnieRotten I would NOT want a cooktop on an island! I cook a lot, and ventilation works most efficiently against a wall.

No garbage disposal?
Mentioned at about 9:50.
I have a cell2jack allowing me to use a cellphone as a landline service
I also have Bluetooth landline phone that allow for 2 celphones to be answered by landline phone
HOW many ah sh*ts on this job?????? lol I know there was some.

Guildbrook Farm, In the Navy there was an old saying on the flight line…….One ah shit wipes out a hundred atta boys…….lol!
Ok. Must admit. You took me by surprise with putting in an appliance garage. They are such a space waster. Sorry.
That furniture dolly. 🤌🤌🤌
