I like that you do the same 'oh ffs' sigh as myself when you notice you've missed a shelf or something too late to do anything about it short of dismantling. I also find it reassuring that I'm not the only one who just sails on solo assembling things that say 2 person job on them and have the same difficulties I would! I love your attention to detail and continue to enjoy seeing all the minutiae involved, thanks for everything :)
👍Nice to see a real world assembly process on this RTA brand. Probably not for a first timer, but, doable for people like me that have nailed or glued a couple of pieces of wood together.
A most satisfying video! Very pleased you put it up right after the cabinet intro video. I love assembling furniture type things so this was the next best thing to doing it myself. So glad it went so smoothly. Excellent company for you to work with. Thanks Jeremy!
Cool clamps, no pokeys, no missing parts, no new swear words, no whammies. Having skills is great. Having the right tools to go with it is even better. Impressive work!
I love the idea of the fake beam to resolve the overhang issue, I probably would have just put a hanging plant on there and pretend that's what it was meant for xD You make it look super easy and quick but I imagine there was still a LOT of work involved in getting this done by yourself. I wish I could afford to do my kitchen (just bought my grandparents' house since they passed) but I'm living vicariously through your channel :p
I still can't stop just looking at the doors in the kitchen every time they are in the camera frame I'm still in love with them you must be worn out after all of this just another big job done in the home stretch I'm here waiting
"Look! Pacman!" 🤣🤣🤣 Dork! 44:30 - I see the stove pipe. But, no fireplace yet. Can you tell what I'm excited to see next? 🤣 You could put a corbel on either end of the faux beam you mentioned doing to hide that the cabinet protrudes from the kitchen space. This would make it appear as if the beam structure of the building was left exposed. Great job! I am certain there are going to be people who will completely appreciate the tutorial aspect of this video.
Aloha, Jeremy (& Jaime), regarding the Lazy Susan cabinet, may I suggest you order some plastic pie-wedge-shaped dividers to keep foodstuffs organized. I researched the options extensively on Amazon. The downside is that all makes and models of these organizing bins are expensive. The upside is that all my items are now very organized and don’t go spinning into a messy pile when the shelves are rotated. I made sure to order the bins in clear plastic with sides as tall as I could find. Now have separate bins for dried beans & legumes, packets and little boxes of Asian ingredients, water bottles & insulted coffee flasks, etc. I can find what I need quickly and easily. It’s been a game-changer that I appreciate daily. Money well spent 😊
Two items that I noticed/thought about. 1. I recall seeing a fairly large trim panel on the right side of the trash can cabinet. Could you trim off enough of that panel to let you slide the refrigerator cabinet so it will be at least CLOSER to the edge of the loft? 2. Others mentioned the cabinet at the opposite end of the kitchen, almost guarantee that whichever of you is doing most of the cooking is going to smack your toes on that missing toe kick! Those are some fantastic looking cabinets, waiting impatiently for the next two episodes.
1. Can’t move the fridge any farther to the left because of an outlet and window casing. 2. The toe kick in the end cabinet won’t be a problem because you would never be that close to the oven cabinet when using the oven as it opens out into the room.
Incredible, can't wait to see it all come together. Thanks so much for showing all the detail! Would you mind sharing a rough figure for your cabinets for price? We have all the cabinets along the kitchen wall (2 of them) which would consists of pretty much your walls to replace in our kitchen. Or perhaps give a difference in price to assemble verses had you had them assemble. Jeromy you are a true craftsman! Bet Jamie is so stoked!! Smiles and blessings...
The toe kick on the special end base cabinet is flush with the kitchen facing side. Do the toe kicks sit back 4" on the base cabinets to the right of the double oven cabinet therefore not matching toe kicks along this elevation?
I love the look of the unfinished side of the birch. That orange finished side is unsightly to me and looks so dark. I wonder if they could whitewash the birch first then use a clear coat that didn't turn it so dark? I painted the inside of my maple cabinets white and it was one of the best things I ever did -- makes a world of difference.
Hate to say it but I'm very jealous. I was in the process of personalizing my home and building cabinets when I lost my job and subsequently my home. My house was my passion.
always start with the corners, your math for the high of the bases are great add 18" and that is going to be the bottom of your tops cabinets but always from the corners.
Great video! Forgetting the shelf in the refrigerator cabinet may actually be a blessing in disguise. We don’t have a shelf in ours and it’s great for all the extra storage and taller things you may have. Question- do you have a plan for the sides of the appliance garage? Can’t wait to see it come together
The cabinet enclosure for the refrigerator will look nice but will cause the compressor to run hot due to the lack of ventilation which will shorten the life span of the equipment. If the refrigerator is on an exterior wall, a wall vent next to the compressor should fix the issue.
When you pushed over to the side, you said you were finished but the middle or top lazy susan shelf was laying on the bottom shelf ...just curious also.
All of the shelves sit on the bottom of all cabinets until you do the finishing and install shelf pins, drawer slides, doors and drawers. That video is #4 in the series coming soon.
You have the skills, tools and patience to do a quality job, but I would question if RTA cabinets would save any money if you had to pay a cabinet installer to do the assembly. Also, it looked like the refrigerator outlet was too far to the left. I love the series.
They can be less expensive. Since they are made in a large factory using a lot of automated processes and in theory with the purchasing power of a large operation, their expenses should be less than a local small shop. In addition, since they are shipped flat pack, the shipping costs would be lower than assembled cases. As for the assembly cost, that would depend on location and your local labor costs. In other words, your mileage may vary. You’d have to look at your specific details.
TOE KICK ISSUE: notice that there is no toe kick area on the end cabinet that goes to the right of the oven. Yes there's a toe kick on the door and drawer side but the end that faces the kitchen consider cutting back for a toe kick. I BET YOU will notice it with accessing the oven and kick it with your shoes. Anyway that is one minor issue I see when you constructed the cabinet.
You will be glad that you forgot to put the shelf in the cabinet above the refrigerator. That cabinet is so deep that it would have been impossible to reach and install the shelf support pins in the back of the cabinet anyway, so you would have been left with a shelf that had no way to install it. In other words, you would have had a shelf just sitting on the bottom of the cabinet with no way to raise it. You are better off just storing big (but preferably not too heavy) things you seldom have to access in that cabinet.
I like that you do the same 'oh ffs' sigh as myself when you notice you've missed a shelf or something too late to do anything about it short of dismantling. I also find it reassuring that I'm not the only one who just sails on solo assembling things that say 2 person job on them and have the same difficulties I would! Jeremy, you are a diligent, hard-working man. Kudos.
Wow Jeremy! a lot of hard work assembling your cabinets! I can't wait to see them on the walls and on the floor cabinets.
You and me both!
👍Nice to see a real world assembly process on this RTA brand. Probably not for a first timer, but, doable for people like me that have nailed or glued a couple of pieces of wood together.
We're using RTA as well.
Wow, assembling all those cabinets is quite an undertaking! They're gonna look great. Love the quality. ~Cynthia
This reminded me of happy hours in the shed watching and helping my dad with projects. Happy memories ☺️

I’m getting more & more excited now for you guys as you get closer to getting it done - and I don’t even know you! Ha. Great video!
Cool clamps, no pokeys, no missing parts, no new swear words, no whammies. Having skills is great. Having the right tools to go with it is even better. Impressive work!
FANTASTIC!! I can’t wait for the install!! 💕✌🏼
Way to go Jeremy! Excellent work. Move in day is getting close. 👍👍👏👏❤️❤️
Thank you so much for the video!

Great job Jeremy! You made assembling those cabinets look easy! Coool!
This was cool! thanks for sharing
Looking awesome. I personally like the longer videos. Have a wonderful week. God Bless.
Thank you! You too!
You know it's serious when the scaffolding gets brought out! :)
Very informative and instructional. Thanks for all the hard work to video this while building with your attention to detail.
Great video. Getting ready to remodel our kitchen this spring ourselves. Thanks for all the tips.
I still can't stop just looking at the doors in the kitchen every time they are in the camera frame I'm still in love with them you must be worn out after all of this just another big job done in the home stretch I'm here waiting
I'm loving the cabinets. You just made my day. Thanks for the cont tact info.
Aloha Jeremy! Thank you!
“Hey, look! Pacman!” 😂 Classic Jeremy moment 😉
Always wondered how they go together. You're good!!
Can't wait to see them installed...
Nice!! Cabinet assembly in just 1 hr and 14 mins! (lol)
I like the METAL 'music parts'. \m/
Cannot wait for you guys to finally move in!
Great video looking forward to seeing it finished..👍👍
Didnt even notice it was longer, it flew by...
Have a good day 🍁🍁🍁
Thanks 👍
Jeremy your the man! You make it look easy!
"Look! Pacman!" 🤣🤣🤣 Dork!

I Love my Irwin clamps, use them for so many different projects
that cardboard looks clean enough for the garden. no dyes and nice flat chunks, just an idea! :)
They do look awesome. Love fast motion haha, don't you wish you could work that fast for real
Absolutely

That was a long video but I watched the whole thing.
Well cool. Thanks! Lol
I like the beam idea but I think you also need a post on the stair side to make visual sense.
Possibly

I’ve had my tambor garage door on my custom cabinets for almost 30 years and have never had an issue
Good
21 years here. We hide the coffee make and supplies behind it so it’s used every day. Seems to have worn very well.
Beautiful Job
Thank you!

Clampy things. That's a carpenter term.
Yes 😑

Impressive...😀
I would wait till the kitchen is finished and if you need a shelf in the fridge cabinet for something then make one that goes in but in halves
That's a good point. The shelf can be ripped length wise and both pieces would fit in. 👍
Hate to say it but I'm very jealous. I was in the process of personalizing my home and building cabinets when I lost my job and subsequently my home. My house was my passion.
Sorry to hear that. Hope things turn around
@@Off-Grid Thank you for that thought!
The custom cabinet 22:25, should the face that will have the false door/drawer front have a toe kick return also? the iso drawing shows it?

Yes I talk about the sides in an upcoming video
We ended up having to modify the fridge cabinet to fit cookie sheets and such.
Nice job just saying
like the doors but I will build mine out of 3/4 baltic plywood.
The cabinet enclosure for the refrigerator will look nice but will cause the compressor to run hot due to the lack of ventilation which will shorten the life span of the equipment. If the refrigerator is on an exterior wall, a wall vent next to the compressor should fix the issue.
Great video thanks again
why did you not show positioning the middle lazysusan shelf? great video thanks
What do you mean? I built that shelf first, then the floor susan and put them in the cabinet.
When you pushed over to the side, you said you were finished but the middle or top lazy susan shelf was laying on the bottom shelf ...just curious also.

What is the cost of all of the cabinets?
Shouldn't that custom end cabinet have a toe kick on 2 sides???
Excellent workmanship in the assembling of the pieces and detailed walk through. What software was used in the design of the cabinet?
Chief Architect
How did you design the kitchen layout? Did you hire someone and just tell them the things you wanted in the kitchen and then they drew up the plans?
Yes. See the previous video. 👍🏻
You have the skills, tools and patience to do a quality job, but I would question if RTA cabinets would save any money if you had to pay a cabinet installer to do the assembly. Also, it looked like the refrigerator outlet was too far to the left. I love the series.

Is there a option for 3/4” plywood instead of 1/2” plywood, if so what’s the up charge percentage
Thxs
👍👍👍👌
As far as timeline, how long per cabinet (on average) did the assembly take?
Once you get the hang of it I’d guess about 10 minutes.
No shelf in the upper part of the appliance garage?
2 shelves actually.
@@Guildbrookfarm Oh, didn't see them. You going to be able to install them with the cabinet fully assembled?
They’re already in there. Yes.
Not sure if you said, what percent is savings for RTA vs. assembled?
About 15%
@@Guildbrookfarm thanks
We saved around 20-25% and even more over plywood preassembled vs mdf or particle board.
😎🤙🦅
Are the veneer panels mdf?
No. Plywood

At least 3 😑

That’s pretty much what I thought also.
Be great for light, bulky appliances you don’t use often!
👀👀👀👋👋👋🇺🇸🇺🇸☕️☕️☕️
Some people just do it and zip it
.
When everything is done I hope you think it was worth all the work you put into it aside from the money investment.
These white cabinet kitchens remind me of 1950's hospitals, Awful!
The cabinets look very well made & that LS corner is built like a tank.
NO lazy susans in my kitchen
We didn't install any either. A lot of waisted space and things fall off and get lost.
Imma hater 🙄
