I watched intently almost to the end, but when you said, "It's ok to make mistakes, especially on your own home," I immediately hit subscribe. ❤ Thanks for giving me the confidence to do this.
I haven't ever commented on your channel. You do great work. But for me personally I like watching the work happen and never watch the LIVE videos. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to the finished project.
i'm genuinely amazed by how you manage to account for a hundred little details in order to make a nice kitchen, and also by how you manage to convey everything in a way that makes it just *make sense*
Wow, good job! Way to persevere. I took on a basement finishing project, which included converting a wet bar area into a kitchenette, and the whole thing is taking a lot longer than I thought it would. I'm now at just over a year, and still quite a few tasks left to do before installing the kitchen cabinets (test and finish the plumbing, finish the electrical, instal insulation & hang drywall on ceiling and walls). I already have the cabinets, though! They are waiting in their RTA flat-pack boxes. I, too, felt this video was incredibly helpful!! Good luck with the rest of your home improvement project! Keep at it!
I caught your live reveal but it’s cool to see the process. Thank you 😊 Smart choice using the glue. Provides that Extra layer of support and strength. Happy belated Birthday sir
By far the best video on You Tube on how to assemble and install these cabinets! You cover a lot of important details and tips that make sense to us first timers. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
When I install different height wall cabinets such as the microwave cabinet in the middle, I preassemble them upside down on the floor and use my long level to line up the faceframes. I then put shims to fill the gap in the back of the cabinets between the middle and the side cabinets. This creates a solid assembly that can be easily lifted into place by one person and you don't have to add an additional support for the microwave cabinet. You can still add your molding backers when you flip the cabinets right side up.
you are a very good teacher and innovative. Innovative as you are...come up with a "secret panel" from sick cabinet to add access to lost corner down below and use it as "hide in plain sight" hidey hole". A great solution to avoid using a safe. :)
Thanks for sharing! I love watching home Reno’s! You are so intelligent, there’s no way I could figure out how to do all that work! Loving the contrasting cabinet colors!
Enjoying your remodels so much! Just caught your shout out to Elite Kitchen and Bath in Leominster, MA - I'm from Ashburnham origionally (still have family home, but live in FL) - we're neighbors of a sort!
Well, I would love to see your Dad in more videos! after all he raised an amazing son so we know he rocks! Just sayen bring him on every chance you get! I learned alot today , Thank You for the install info.
seeing your vids inspired me to give my old kitchen a small "face lift" so i made 9 brand new drawers with nice smooth slides and learned very quickly just how off square my kitchen is. so when you put up that second corner cabinet i couldn't help but laugh at my own situation. nice work as usual dude thanks for postinng all you work
Happy Birthday Matt. Now where is the video showing what you do with the blind corner dead space? Some sort of "Magic" pull assembly, perhaps? Thanks for sharing.
I have that same trim wood blade and the same Makita saw, love it. The tape idea is great. Also the leveling of the base cabinets is a huge help, I wondered what I was going to do with that!
You are a perfectionist extraordinaire! Great job. I'm looking forward to seeing it completed. You should make a fake panel in the countertop and hide a safe in the dead space.
Good to see it coming together in the video! Looks great! We're in the middle of a kitchen and I'm lucky to be married to a cabinet builder. It takes a lot to make a good cabinet and I'm looking forward to it! Can't wait to see your progress!
Hi from Great Britain, great job as always in everything you do, watched all your videos, no job is too hard for you. Your ability to get round problems is really impressive. Can't wait to see the finished results. And a happy belated birthday to you.
Great work! Pro tip that i was shown....since you're taking the doors off anyway, pull the hinges off the box, and you can countersink and hide the screws begind it, so they are never seen. Keep up the great videos!!
And next, the handles. Back in 2005 when my wife and I were having our house built they wanted to charge us about $1500 to put in the hardware. After about a year or so I picked up all that I needed for $200 at Costco (plus extras), made a quick template, and installed them all over the house in about 90 minutes.
@@iambadatnamingthings3547 Absolutely nobody in the development took them up on their price. It was one of those things we all talked about with each other, along with all the shit shortcuts the builders had taken and needed to be resolved.
I am so impressed with your quality of work with all the details that are so well thought of I wish you were my neighbor you would be well paid for your advice on any and all my repairs; our house may not be big and grand but it would definitely be protected from the elements thanks again for sharing 💙
It may have taken me about 4 days watching from beginning to end but still totally worth it. lol I loved learning about RTA cabinets. I did not even know that was a thing. I feel like it would drive me nuts to have all that wasted space by the dishwasher but I also feel like you created additional space by adding the upper cabinet on the end so it seems to all work out great. That little space will make an awesome coffee bar (I think I may have even heard you say that was the plan for it). Another great video 👍
I have to admit this was a pretty cool video. You made it so simple and easy to understand. I’ve done a few projects myself but to assemble them the way you do. I think I’d rather do it that way and do the RTA cabinets but overall this was a very helpful video. Looking forward to seeing how you do your backsplash.
@@eileenwatt8283 I went with a contractor I found through Home Depot. The representative brought about 10 samples with him. Very pleased with the work.
Installed some RTA cabinets in my master closet, very impressed with the quality and precision of the cabinets. Took about 15 minutes each to assemble. Saved hundreds over getting already assembled from a big box.
i like your calm and logical thought process, its quite the opposite of how my relatives handle projects or issues. your relaxed nature really makes doing projects seem rightfully fulfilling and enjoyable even if they can be technically difficult.
Good idea using the wall cabinet. I wanted a custom island in my kitchen but bought wolf preassembled cabinets. So I added a set of wall cabinets behind the bases, added a 1/8" panel to cover the sides. If you bought preassembled cabinets, you never would have found a wall cabinet without a damaged side rear edge, and that setup would never work. That's probably a big benefit of RTAs.
One of the nicest and modest guy on youtube when it comes to diy around your home by far ! 😁 👷 ✌ 👍 👍 over here in Scotland we call an A T A , flat pack and some times they come with a wee plastic bag of glue and screws 👷 anyway I hope your having a nice day bro and don't forget to give yourself a tap on the shoulder now and again ! Best wishes Alexander , Sophie and my lift 7 month old baby boy 👶 Milo some where in the Scottish highlands . 😁 😁 👶 💙 💜 ❤ ✌ .
I had a kitchen with a small dead corner area like yours, and the sink cabinet was open on the side, so i could store rarely used items on the shelves in the corner, (large serving dishes, seasonal items, deviled egg trays) you should think about opening up the side, and putting some shelves in that dead space.

I'm glad to see you glued & screwed your cabinets... DEFINITELY NECESSARY

Good stuff! Installing kitchen cabinets is not easy. It’s even more difficult installing them by yourself. Great job!
Thanks, Bradley! And thanks for watching!
Am just about to install cabinets bought 6 years ago. Life happened.
House is 105 years old. As always, this is exactly the video I needed right now!

Another home run video. Watching them calms the insanity of DIY projects.

I like how your mind works. You have done miracles putting the house together despite all the crooked walls and floors.

I like the extra cabinet you put in at the end of the kitchen

That’s like 15 bucks a minute workwise, sounds like a scam

I love those simple Shaker-style doors. I got the same thing. This is going to look great!
What kind of material and what brand. I want to RTA but want the most sturdy material in them. Confused by the choices

Great job, I loved it. Can't wait to see more.
Happy belated birthday! The kitchen is looking nice.
I am excited! Love your channel, you are the best. Give my best to Mrs. Fixer💗
Great job Mat!! Love the way the whole kitchen is turning out (also the rest of the house).
Happy birthday…..nice job. I always learn so much from. Your videos. Thank you….
Good assembly and very good work.. install instructions.thanks
Another great video as always. Happy birthday!!!
Thumbs up. These cabinets are made of plywood but look sturdy and attractive.
Still a happy birthday Matt, I hope you had a great day!!!
Good job!! I recommend using finishing screws to attach face cabinets...you will only see a very small hole.
Happy Birthday! And great job, wow, a lot of work and you did it!
Love these longer videos.
Happy Birthday !!!!! Great video, thank you !!!
Beautiful kitchen cabinets.
Thanks
All your tips are sooo good kitchen looks amazing
Koda popped in to help! 🥰🥰🥰♥️
Never knew there was such a thing as RTA cabinets. I’m definitely intrigued, and will look into it when I go to do my own kitchen.
Those are nice cabinets, very well made, good materials. I like the design style and the colors. Moving right along.
It's going to be so nice.

really nice remodel so far.
