    I’m late to the party but as a former journeyman cabinet maker turned civil engineer, I say nice job. I appreciate how respectful you are with people’s homes.
    I used to install a lot of plastic laminate countertops back in the day, before everyone wanted solid surfaces.

    We take off doors and drawers. Makes it way easier
    We also set lowers before uppers
    Always a great debate on which one

    Looks like the Packout drawer units would have been a better fit for your installations.

      @@kustomkabinetry I own a ton of Packout and didn't have the option of the drawer units when I started buying it. Now I started switching over to drawer units and life is so much easier.

    As a finish carpenter, we were putting in 20-25 cabinets in 7 hours. That's including stocking the rooms, and trimming out and crown molding at stain grade. That's *One* person. Granted, the doors were adjusted by the apprentices and they also cleaned up behind us.
    I'd be fired before lunch working like this.

      At Kustom Kabinetry, we value quality over quantity. Our focus is to make your kitchen the heart of your home, with cabinets that last a lifetime. We don't like to cut any corners. Our focus is not on installing cabinets as fast as we can, but instead installing them with the time we need, so our customers will be 100% satisfied with the product they are getting.

      I highly doubt you were putting in quality 20-25 custom cabinets.
      Big box stores cabinets, Easy
      Quality built in sections can weigh well over 150lbs
      I wanna see 1 guy move a pantry around a tight turn 😂😂😂😅

      We’ve always been told we’re fast, now that I know we’re slow we’ll have to find a way to be faster😉

    • @davidmiller4594
      @davidmiller4594 Год назад +2

      Quality doesn't have to be sacrificed to be fast. To be fast, you just need to be efficient. These guys are not.
      And they were all high quality cabs made in USA. No composite materials anywhere. These were track homes in Hawaii starting at 1.4 mil. We were getting $57/hour. We weren't run of the mill workers. Were all journeymen with a minimum of 10 years experience to work on that crew.

      Pull doors off and see how heavy it is.
      We predrilled and preset 2 screws, keep a level in the cab, set a prop stick at our laser line and lift the cab into place, set screws, Repeat.

    You mentioned in another video that you use the power planer instead of scribe fillers. Isn’t doing custom scribing actually part of Kustom cabinetry?

    • @kustomkabinetry
      @kustomkabinetry  5 месяцев назад

      Yes it is and we do custom scribing if the cabinets are not tight to the wall.

      Very professional set up. I just worry about your backs. That last island cabinet was just way too heavy and awkward. But I will say what a complete, beautiful job.
