Dear Freddie ,had to let you know am 65 hadn't been on a bike for 49 years ,last time was when I was 16 on a Yamaha moped [fizzy] unfortunely i got knocked off and didn't get on a bike again, about 6months ago i watched the video where you reviewed the Royal Enfield classic and i thought what a beautiful machine and that was it my journey started last November and yesterday i passed my Mod 2 for a full licence all thanks to you ,been on a little AJS Cadwell the last 6 months ,now on to something bigger ,love all your videos you and Monica are such a wonderful inspiration thank you.
All those wasted years , sad ! I'm 80 still on two wheels.

It was 46 years ago, as a young paratrooper from Belgium I bought my first BMW 800/7, crossed the Channel with an Ostend ferry and via Dover head up to London, went to the Marquee Club every night and bought my first pair of Barbour international jacket & trousers; then, three years later, showed up in a stripped down Land Rover Minerva to meet our pals from 21 and when 20 years later, I read my Masters at King's (War Studies), walked the streets around Covent Garden, every day, going to my student studio at the Lilian Pension Hall in front of Paddington. My love for London started when I was ten, coming from Belgium and spending a glorious summer in Kensington going out discovering the fascinating capital of the world. I never knew riding around London could be so relaxing, well at least when someone else is in the saddle. As ever, a great video and I thoroughly enjoyed the ride and sights, many thanks.
In the 80s I used to drive a small van and small motorbikes around London. I always found driving in London much easier than my home city, Bristol. I watch Freddie and Monika for the nostalgia.
London is beautiful on a Sunday morning on a motorcycle. Driving requires patience but still much better than any other day.
You should watch Beans on Toast, his vids are him riding around London on one of his many bikes pointing out places to visit

Excellent video, don't think twice about professional or not, it's simply good viewing. Like most places if you look for the good things you will find them and London has loads. Sure it has some 'new' bad parts caused by speed bumps and 20mph limits, but the many good parts over-ride the bad if you let it. Always remember my first Belstaff leather jacket, always been an 'Ogri' and 'bloodrunners' biker since the age of 16 over 49 years ago. 'Stuff everything as long as I've got me bike'.

I was a courier in the late 80’s. Picked up my Belstaff wax bike jacket in Bob Misson’s bike shop in Melksham. Laughed at in the Pony Express office. No one wanted Belstaffs back then. Everyone had those silver plastic jackets with matching trousers 😂
The Army used to issue them to dispatch riders on the B40s and CanAms, back in the 70s/80s. Black jackets and trousers. The only bikers who bought them in surplus stores were old codgers commuting on 125s in winter!
I really enjoyed that ride through London town. I haven’t been back for such a long time - your video made me miss it so. Thank-you Freddy.
We live near Bury St Edmonds and Krazy Horse so I am happy to say. I see Norton's often they sound wonderful.

Freddy get yourself to gunwalf quay in Portsmouth as they have a Belstaff outlet shop with really good discounts, great ride down there as well.
I was going to say the sandstone jacket looks nicer than the green one until you put them on. The Green one looks a lot better and would suit the bonneville massively.

Love the video Freddie. I’ve been in the States for 30 years, but prior to moving here I was a Despatch Rider in London. Seeing you ride through those streets brought back so many memories. I absolutely love London. Your comment about the crime level in London. I think people say that about all major cities, when in reality. If you stay out of the known bad areas all major cities are really enjoyable places to be. Im taking a road trip on a Gold Wing in a few days that will put me in NYC for a long weekend. Can’t wait.

I live in NY and visited London last fall. Stayed at the Strand Palace hotel in Covenent Gardens. Beautiful city and we did all the usual tourist things……I ride a Triumph here at home so was nice to see the Brits flying around on their Triumphs! Tally Ho
Hi Freddie. Don’t know about the new Norton’s. But back in the 70s when I was a police motorcyclist I rode the Interpol 750 and then the 850. Awesome bikes.

Yes , and if you ask politely at the “security” booth , they will let you park your bike safely , underneath one of the first blocks of flats , on the left , as you go into the area near the Power station ! Been there two Novembers ago , with my Honda SuperCub 90.
@@lesterthorpe4190 good to hear. I was working nearby for the Tideway project and was visiting the place many times. It’s a unique industrial building, one of my favourites in London. It’s the building with the most bricks in Europe. It also has strong ties with the seventies as it was used for the cover of the album Animals by the Pink Floyd. And Norton was a very active brand in the seventies.
The nearby buildings are also very nice, one block of flats was designed by Frank Gehry, who’s a very famous architect. The arches under the train are also cool with nice bars and restaurants. When Tideway is finished, the Thames path will be continuous and the area will be one of the nicest in London.
All that fantastic bike gear you are always raving and rating on about, and you are wearing a Denim jacket and chinos! ?

London sure has changed in the last 60 years ago. Those Covent Garden pubs used to have early motning opening hours to cater for the market porters. You could get a drink and a feed there at 4 in the morning which was really handy when you'd been out all night and were heading back to Uni. Good point about the "famous" bikes. How many have seen in the wild the original models of the Norton Commando, Vincent Black Shadow, Brough Superior, Ariel 4, etc. let alone ridden them. As the original Greasers die off it'll be less and less.
I saw a beautiful gold sparkle commando a couple of years ago at the Bike Shed.Cracking old Norton.

Stunning bike, practically I can't see it being worth the extra over my T120, but for some people I can see the exclusivity making it worth it.
Had to laugh when Plod pulled up. I should have known they'd be admiring the Norton. London looks like a nightmare to ride in these days, the taxis still never give you enough room, and the 20MPH has killed any possible enjoyment. We used to pull wheelies across Chelsea Bridge back in the day, thousands of bikes pulling in on a Friday night. Wonderful days, racing in on the M4, through Earls Court and along to the Bridge. Now The Embankment is restricted to 20MPH. And yes, it's still a beautiful City despite some problems. Impressed with the new Belstaff jackets.

Hi Freddy, I enjoy your upload’s but I can not imagine myself putting things (phone, 360 camera’s , selfie sticks, helmet communication and editing on my mind to enjoy and being in the moment on a motorbike.
All I need is one speedometer to be in a state of meditation.
I think I am not a multitasker but I admire those who can make a christmas tree of their bikes and still enjoy the ride.

Wondering if you have ever done a video with the Motolegends folks at their shop in Guildford where they serve you cookies--um, sorry--biscuits and tea while you wait for their personal shopper customer service. I bet that would be fun. Nothing like that here.
Sadly, it's tough to find any quality brick-and-mortar motorcycle apparel shops in the US. Maybe southern California or New York. We have Cycle Gear and a couple Revzilla shops, but that's about it. Very plain & basic.
There are no shops in small tourist towns. That's long in the past here. You're so lucky to have all those little custom shops which you've filmed so well. Thanks for the videos!
I used to love to filter through the traffic when I was younger but now watching you gives me the willies, and who would have thought there would be a generation who had never seen a Norton in the wild, i had several mates who had Commandos and Dominators.

I remember visiting a newly opened Belfast Store, about 12 or more years ago, somewhere near Bond Street (?). It only had about one or two biker jackets in store. The rest was fashion gear. It looks as if they are making a comeback.

Nice film, you made me nostalgic for London where I lived for 30-years, commuting by m/bike. I suspect you made this film early on a Saturday because the streets are seldom so empty. Back here in North Wales it's very different, no architecture to speak of, but great riding roads. Surprisingly at least one fella owns a Norton, he parked it next to my RT outside a biker's cafe last week. Nice enough, but if that kind of thing turned my crank I think I'd get one of the originals.My summer jacket is brown, made by RST. It says "Classic Collection" on the tag and has a TT logo on the back. I've had it maybe seven years and I love it. Much cheaper than the stuff you were looking at and it's proving v durable. I bought it from the RST factory shop in the midlands - near Triumph.

Hi Freddie, I recently bought myself the Crosby Belstaff jacket in black. It was a bit looser, so for me was a much nicer fit than the Brooklands, and it’s nice to have a bit more length should it rain. It’s a bit lighter as well and I have worn it on these recent hot days and not been too hot yet. Amazing quality I feel and although expensive I feel like everything is, worth it I feel - AA safety and fully waterproof

I bought a Belstaff Trialmaster with my first pay cheque in ‘79 and had dirty collars ever after. They were made in Stoke in those days. I can’t make myself believe Belstaff could ever be fashionable ( or properly waterproof for all-day rain). I guess I’ve got old . And as for the Commando… more old git talk, I walked past the window of Reg Dearden’s in Chorlton-cum-Hardy hundreds of times and lusted after the ‘run out’ ‘76 silver Commandos ( about £600…… may as well have been a £million) …… ah well the Jawa was ok!

Morning, I ´ve bought the Belstaff Brooklands in sand. It´s a stunning jacket. A bit longer in the back than the previous version, airvents in the arms an the back, so it´s good for summer riding also, and it´s AA rated now. Good job Belstaff. By the way, it was a bit cheaper at Urban Riders.
I've got the exact green Mansion Belstaff shirt,its amazing, and I can really recommend it, it's lot more versatile than you would think,I've worn mine since I got it in February,and been caught in the rain,with no unpleasant results!, great if you're popping out to the pub/shop,or just a quick spin,(i've got aTrailmaster for the more serious stuff)

No issues with the filming Freddie and London is quite fast paced but a bit overwhelming with the amount of people. I must say the Belfast jacket's do look very well made, not cheap but then again, I guess you often get what yo pay for. 😎

I love the Norton - it was a bike of dreams when I was a yobo biking youth in 70s - very pretty and I actually think the peg and handle bar set up makes the riders look “cooler” albeit probably not comfortable. I am a failed RUclipsr and presently in the Namib Desert on my KTM watching this by a random 4 G mast. I notice a few motorcycle bloggers use the 360 cameras and I personally don’t like the footage - it’s gimmicky for a while like a hall of mirrors at a fun fair . Far prefer the standard images from iPhone and don’t think I’ll use action cameras again. Sound is extremely important and successful bloggers like Freddie have the right set up. Lots of admiration for Freddie and Monica’s filming, narration and editing.
Totally agree regarding the 360 cameras, hate the distortion!
Perfect. I said this in a previous video, and I’ll say it again. In this instance, Monica is the wrong person holding the camera. If Belstaff has any sense at all, they will contact your agent to contract you as their model. You are the epitome of a tall, handsome, young English gentleman that could sell a large number of their products.
