I feel like I'm generally pretty chiled watching these. That made me scream.
The best thing is how he always so sophistically and strategically thinks out loudly about what grand master plan he is going to do next. "Hm yeah yes I do this and then this and yes that would be perfect, oh yeah." And then he proceeds to use a strike on an enemy and pass his turn instead of using the rampage.

Vanitas Vanitatum Et Omnia Vanitas the effects disappear at the end of the turn which was literally when he hits the button thats says end turn and the effects literally said they disappeared emmediatley after he hit that button.
I figuratively almost swallowed my phone when I saw him thunderclap instead of heavy blow, then do the bash+strike instead of strike+strike+defend.
I legit stay up to watch these just before bed and proceed to sweat profusely and wake up screaming at night screaming about the misplays
Why must he do this to us?
tbh he's was misplaying mostly on the boss, i believe it was because nervousness and with time he will get used to them and start to play better
But damn were those some misplays. Holy cow.
I'm not as good as him but I still know that in the last episode's boss you should deal at least 30 damage to it to stop it from doing damage
Ryan if you hover a card over a weakened opponent it will tell you the damage you do so you don't have to try and do the math.

I mean... it still tells you the damage even if they're Weakened and not Vulnerable.
Yeah it always tells you the damage by hovering over the enemy, but vulnerable actually affects that and weakened does not. Also I actually can't belief that someone messes this two words up after beeing this long into the game.

Northern, my dog, my dude. If you have a rampage it will ALWAYS out value a strike. Not only that but it gets stronger the more you use it. Keep up with the great content though. Honestly one of my new favorite series

Keemsama Bin Star I saw he kept using strikes instead of rampage that would get stronger each time played and I think the rampages did more damage. Then most times making his cards cost 1 then drawing 3 cards a couple of times.
Also playing Armaments+ before Battle Trance
37:30 for a specific example where he used 2 strikes instead of strike + rampage to do the same thing.
46:45 Takes Double Tap over Demon Form in a deck that can play it for 1 and has 2 cards that can nearly OHK a boss after a very short time with it.
36:51 He uses aoe before spot weakness
I just want to say that I genuinely enjoy this series. Everyone else is talking about misplays, and I'm over here eating it up. Please make this your next long running series, I absolutely love it.
I have to support this proposal based on the fact that there is so much room for improvement.
I'm just waiting for the day he actually becomes good at the game and knows all the cards and synergies.
I think once he gits gud he’ll put the series on hiatus until they add more content like Dead Cells
Dead Cells is pretty good now.
I do get mildly annoyed by all the comments repeating the same thing a million times, but in the end we all enjoy the series in our own way
Episode 12 and he still doesn't know that you can see how much damage a card will deal if you select it and hover over the mob..
Every time he plays strike instead of rampage I die a little inside.
i dont get why nl ignores multi strike abilities all the time, they synergize so well with str buff builds.

hey NL, just want to say that i'm loving this series. you might be discouraged from playing by seeing all of the comments agonizing over your misplays, but i hope you realize that we all still want to see more of this series regardless of your mistakes. keep doing what you're doing!

Because Egg. I hate how he wins... this game is too easy. So many obvious missplays and he still manages to win.
Then again, I have a theory that he made a deal with the developers. He will play as frustrating as he can in order to force people to buy the game. And it works. Everyone gains from it.
+Protton NL does that with every game ever, plays bad enough to make me wanna buy it instead.
Anyways, I don't know, I wouldn't call it too easy, kinda like isaac- sometimes a run is good enough for the worst player to win, sometimes only a good player can win. Certainly NL isn't winning every run he does in Spire.

The only smart thing this man does is he sometimes avoids elites.
Me and my friends take a shot if there's a misplay.. You almost killed Nick.
Interestingly enough, you had the super combo for infinite max HP. you could have won the run right at the last boss. Dual wield+feed+a boss which summons enemies+barricade+shrug it offs for days=infinite max hp.(not really because eventually the boss would get really high strength, but you could have gotten hundreds of max hp) it is very boring, but it is an option.

That's why dual-wield comes into play. Double/Triple the card then you'll have more on the back-burner.
The boomerang/thunderclap play was so bad, but he also used normal Strikes instead of Rampage SO MANY TIMES. WHY.
I dream that eggboi would figure out that when you target an enemy with an attack, it will tell how much damage you would do to that enemy on the card. It really helps when you cant do basic math like NL

Hey Northernlion, im not sure you've realized yet but when you are dragging and pointing a card at a specific enemy, the card will show the adjusted damage it will do after taking vulnerability and such into account.

Love how you have a card that gets better each time you use it, and yet you always use a card that is objectively worse everytime you have the choice. Never change NL.

While listening to this, I heard the "Did reaper give us back an energy?" and went "Wait WHAT?!". Came back to see what was up and it turns out Egg doesn't even know his own relics.
I have to admit I am addicted to these videos.
Hey NL, at 10:20 you wasted 12 damage on the priest because he had 15 block until the end of turn.
It would make more sense to hit the Knight, who had no block and would suffer damage.
If it is helpful to you, you can view the modified damage by hovering the target arrow for an attack over an enemy. It’ll tell you how much vulnerable enemies will take and such.

Most comment mention the misplays, but here are 2 that could help in future episodes. Make sure to use all energy before ending turn, if the enemy has block up hit the other one that doesn't have block, dumping attack into block is a waste of an attack.
Dual Wield makes an exact copy of the card it copies. If you use it on a card that was created with Infernal Blade they will both cost 0. You did it earlier in the video but second guessed yourself during the boss.
Use a fire potion before seeing if you could kill next turn?

Just so you know, to help calculate your damage on an enemy with a debuff, say vulnerable, click on the card and hover on the enemy the text in the card shows the ACTUAL damage it's going to make (instead on you roughly calculating it).
37:41 Enemies attacking for 28 damage, NL blocking for 8 "and we're still going to take 18 damage" Again Ryan... Math much?
NL, generally you want to kill the centurion first, because he is the one dealing all the damage. The healer is no problem afterwards
At the end if this video I kept thinking "you don't deserve this win"... I feel like I just gulped down a gallon of seawater.

NL, the dazed exhaust at the end of the turn. So at 21:50, a 4 card draw only adds one dazed and will exhaust all dazed you draw.
Barricade is probably the strongest strategy for Ironclad to date. It's physically painful to watch this guy passing up Body Slams, Iron Waves, and Shrug it Off for trash.
Double tap was the objective worst choice in a deck with enlightenment, Bludgeon or Demon form for 1 energy is just soooo good.
Heyo NL you can skip all the math by hovering your attack over the enemy, the amount of damage of the attack will change depending on the enemy's vulnerability. For example you being weakened for 25% would cause a strike to seem like it would only do 4 damage. But when you hover over a vulnerable enemy, you can see that it still does 6 damage. GL Boi
I love when he damages an enemy with block when he doesn't actually break it and they don't have barricade. What an egg

NL, if you have a stroke and a rampage, always use rampage.
Also, if you can kill a guy with 2 strikes, don't use a bash and a strike.

dude in the boss battle, the game actually gave him spot weakness 4 times in a row with no enemies attacking. My god would i be floored.
NL you should know that if an enemy is vulnerable and you target an attack at them but don’t cast it the damage number that’s on the card shows the total amount of damage it’ll do (including the added vulnerable damage). It’ll save you a little bit of math.
Please NL take the time to read and plan your turns, since you have no turn timer. Also, you know exactly how much damage you Will deal when you hover the enemy with an attack, the text changes
"I can use 2 strikes but that doesn't leave me with enough energy" Proceeds to Bash then rampage. That's 3 energy and 2 strikes are 2 energy.
Hey NL just wanted to let you know that dual wield + a zero mana attack from infernal blade does work. The copies will cost 0.
It hurts how NL ignores Barricade. And yes, I'm watching this series from the beginning in 2020. Actually it is very relatable because I'm just learning how to play Slay the Spire.
Don't forget your relic which allows you to take out a card from your deck at fireplaces.

NL. You can see the damage your cards will do by holding them over the enemy. This will show the damage if they are vulnerable or if you are weak

I agree, the bell at first sight could seems like a bad item, but with so many way you can remove cards it's basically 3 free relic and also there are some cards that synergize with curses

yes, he can remove curses at campfires, but usually unless they are really bad curses it's not the best thing to do

Omg NL for the 100th time, just click on the card and put the arrow on the enemy, then look at the card and you'll see EXACTLY how much damage it will do. It calculates everything (Your strength, the enemies debuffs etc) once you clicked it and pointed at the enemy you want to attack. Instead of guessing and taking 3 hours to calculate and attack.. and then anyways calculate wrong at the end every time lol.

When you have the card selected and you hover over your target, it shows you how much the attack is going to do AFTER buffs and de-buffs. You don't even have to do the math you're screwing up.

I have to ask. I don’t check the comments often, but has anyone told northernlion that he doesn’t have to “do the math” with weakness and vulnerability? That simply “aiming” the card changes the damage numbers to reflect your ACTUAL damage including weakness and the like.

When one guy is blocking more than the damage you can do and the other isn't blocking, why hit the blocking guy?

NL if a enemy has a DMG increase Debuff if you select the card and hover over a enemy it will the the calculation automaticly just look at the DMG number .
Egg you should look out for some shop relics you can create some neat combos with that pain curse
If you manage to replace your strikes with either iron waves or cleaves you're in a good position :)

Winning is not getting to the second level. He's barely scraping by with Northernlion Luck... he's gonna crash hard on the third floor. Again.
You made at least 5 HUGE and obvious misplays on the boss and still managed to win lol. I was yelling at my laptop. You need to work on understanding buffs, damages, attack rotation lol.
That fire potion hurt my soul.

Peace Pipe is OP, but NL assigns zero value to card removal so that's a pipe dream. Pun intended. = )
