Looking For AWD? The 2024 Kia Seltos Has The Lowest MSRP In America with AWD Standard

  • AWD Might be standard, but it's not on every Seltos. Say what? Yep, the lineup is complicated. Complex lineup aside, the Seltos is one of the best small SUV/CUVs in America. It's roomy, the turbo finally gets a real 8-speed automatic, fuel economy is solid and it has the best tech in the segment.
In essence a customer has a decision to make: do you want features like the big screen LCD dash, power seats, and extra safety tech? Or do you want AWD? If you want both, then the Seltos isn't as inexpensive anymore but it's still a strong contender for the Crosstrek and CX-30.

I feel the Seltos and the CX30 are easily the best in class. Sadly sales figures will always favor the dull Honda and Toyota offerings because Americans just buy whatever Honda and Toyota sell regardless. Sticker prices haven’t mattered in years. With dealer markups, rebates etc the price can change a lot. Dealers need to find ways to make expensive/fancy/luxury features cheaper. Prices are getting to crazy that dealers are even turning away shipments of new cars. With that said I like the seltos just wish it had the panoramic roof from the sportage.

Its a shame that USA does not get the Memory Driver Seat, Passenger Power Seat, Vented Seats, or the HUD that are on the Canadian Seltos, but that's how the USA / Canadian marketing goes. I am in the third year of my 2021 Seltos SX Turbo, fortunately with the Dual-Clutch Transmission, which is Faster & more economical, BUT does the same low range searching for gears thing that my Corvette does and for the same reasons. So, probably smart for KIA to just give "the people" what they want rather than try to explain it to people. Love my Seltos ( and Corvette ); thanks for another great Review.

I even had a Kia salesperson tell me they weren't interested in giving me a quote and info by email...I tried dealers in Oklahoma and Kansas, to hell with Kia! Why are there dealers anyway if they expect me to order a car and wait 5 months? I'll stay with my dependable 2001 Honda Accord for now.

And no towing capacity rating from KIA for USA models. That's sad for a SUV. Even Toyota has enough confidence in the Corolla Cross to give it a 2000 lb towing rating for USA models. If the manufacture won't rate it for towing no matter how small the lb rating is don't go to dealer for warranty work because your having a transmission problem with a trailer hitch installed on it.

I think that's the biggest knock on the Alex's video. Sure, it's the "lowest" price msrp awd SUV but problem is Kia dealers are charging a premium for them. After mark-ups, OTD price may vary so that msrp price may not even matter.

Kia has an average of $1000 in incentives as of last quarter. While markups may exist on some models in some regions, it's no longer happening on a national basis. Also: its not possible to comment on someone's out the door costs in a direct fashion because of these national variances, .

MSRP is irrelevant for regular customers. All that really matters is OTD price. Kia dealers are horrible and average (don't comment if you don't understand the meaning of the word average) mark-ups and add-ons are among the highest. Average OTD price will be MUCH higher than Mazda and Subaru.
Edit: And if you want LED headlights or ACC you have to pay 31k+ MSRP for the Kia? Both features are standard on the cheapest base version of Mazda CX-30.
