Hi mate, great video! What is the name of the wire you are using I’m trying to pick some up from Amazon or b and q? I’m trying to do the same on my ford transit 😊
I bought a new Transit when the MK7 minibus came out in late 2006. Had this problem from first week. Must have had half a dozen new locking mechanisms until the warranty run out. never was fixed. Bought another minibus new 2011 and it started after a few months and still does. The rear doors seldom get opened but the beep still happens every couple of weeks. I open the rear door and close it and it all locks.
I turned off that beep using the paid for FORSCAN software. Took some finding where the setting was, but now I don't flinch each time I try to lock the van at night
Check rear door handle is full pressed back 😂we found out the rear door was beeping and ...handle was stiff we greased and it then lay flat again and no more beeps!!
Does anyone here know WHY Ford chose to make the horn sound when not all doors are locking, instead of another way that would make much less noise? I own a similar Transit and it's always the same.. Rear door doesn't lock and there it goes, waking up the neighbours... Very anoying. Would be great to find a way to make it stop doing that. Does anyone know if this is programmable with the BCM? In my case it's the problem with the wiring loom. I don't get why they built it like it was designed to break, and then sell new looms for that much money. Shouldn't cost more than 10 euros looking at the quality of it..
No idea why - but if there is a way to stop it that would be great. It's one way to p**s off your neighbours while camping to have the horn sounding in the middle of the night when locking up for the night!
@@Lost13mm Mine is not a campervan but nontheless very anoying if i come home from work late and the horn sounds.. I've found another wiring loom for the door, think i'll buy it and see if i can make a good loom out of that one, than swap them out.
Did your rear door lock at all buddy? Mine locks but I get the horn sounding. I assume because the body control module can't see that a door is locked. Not looked over it yet. Good spot by the way, always areas of suspicion wires between doors and frames eh.
it looks like someones tried to get into it ,they run a knife down the door gap to de-activate the central locking ,the same thing happened to my transit ,you can buy a purpose made shield that you rivet into the door gap that guards all the wires
In my case it turned out that there was corrosion in the connector behind the right rear light. Generally, everything was floating in water there when I opened it. After cleaning it improved and everything works from the remote.

this was after fixing the issue in the first place though
I need new loom bit all my wires are broken i wouldnt know what one goes to what theres 8 black wires
Was the wire you added 12v 5amp? Cheers
Not 100% sure. I have various stuff in garage. But I would have thought the power through the wire is very low so not much amps through them.
@@Lost13mm thank you sir

Olá aqui do Brasil. Para que serve esse botão amarelo na porta traseira da Ford transit. Obrigado.
It allows the door to fully open.
Obrigado

All doors locked for a second or 2 then all unlocked. It does the same if one door is not quite closed properly.
@@Lost13mm Exactly the same on my Transits

Maybe, but it was not going into the body when the door was shut, so it was being bent at a sharp angle.
