You have really opened my eyes to the potential of this type of work. In my part of the country (east sussex), we only have one other guy specialising in fitting van dead locks. So, as so as I get all the gear together (some already have) I will start offering this service along side key cutting and vehicle remotes. Can't wait...
Another quality video Andy! As somebody who is currently training to be a locksmith (not a 3 day course) so all of your videos are of interest and informative. Please keep the good work 😊
I think the precision and quality of Andy's work and videos are amazing, I always follow and it helps me a lot because I also work in the same type of profession in Brazil, simply sensational !!!! 👍
Quality job Andy, although I did wonder why you were using silicone before drilling. Done a similar thing myself 🤣. Love this guys survival technique with his coffee's and water. Nearly there Andy.
Honestly mate, what a trooper. - I could not do what you do (Fitting locks on other people's vans, and having the mental fortitude to make a RUclips video at the same time). - I get asked every week, or every other, if I fit locks to vans, and I always say no, sorry I don't. - Simply because I don't want to take on that responsibility of cutting into somebody else's vehicle's bodywork... For me it's just not worth the potential backlash if they're not happy or if something goes wrong. I couldn't charge enough for it to be worth my time and stress... - But then there's you, out in the rain, smashing it like it was nothing... Hats off fella, your customers must be glad they called you as you always seem to do such meticulous work... COME ON THE 1K 💪
Ah bless ya George, thanks buddy, that’s really nice of you to say 😊 To be honest once you’ve done a couple of vans they become pretty easy and I actually enjoy doing them now! Although when I first started I was a nervous wreck and worried about it days before! Thanks again mate and thanks for watching 😊🙏🏼
Finally!!! You quoted "I'll have a Cup of tea"... (kidding. American to British humor) Actually I'm waiting for "Thats just bullocks!!) Was Steve under an umbrella? He did a great job keeping that camera dry and not you. Great video as always my Friend!! Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Hahaha we do love a cuppa tea 😊 I’ll try and throw a bollocks in somewhere for ya 😉 Yeah weirdly Steve did manage to stay relatively dry 😂😂 Thanks as always Gerald 😊🙏🏼
71 More subs to go! You can do it Mate. Nice job on that van, looks very professional. Don't see that type of work here in Canada. More likely to see a hasp and padlock.
Thanks buddy. I have 2 of these rivet guns from Amazon. Seababyhouse Pneumatic Rivet Gun Hydraulic Air Riveter Tool Labor Saving Rivet Riveting Nut Nail Insert Hand Tool Set, 1/4-inch 3/16-inch 5/32-inch 1/8-inch 3/32-inch Nosepieces amzn.eu/d/aVJBnPv
Here’s a good tip. Re all the iron fillings whilst working on the panels, put some magnets on masking tape around the area of cutting, you’d be surprised how much they collect. Wiping down, use tack rag ( spray painters cloth) to pick up any stray filings)
i mentioned a while back, the only lock we had for extra security back in the day for vehicles was the Yale M69 deadlock. it was very popular for ford capris, escorts etc...i have found one which you are welcome to if you like. I have sent Seth lots of obsolete locks, but i'm sure he wont mind me sending this one to you, if you like, so you can see what was classed as a security lock back in the day....
Such a great video mate..I watched the last one with similar special interest as I haven’t done any van locks yet, and may well start with my own soon!! I think I’m well enough equipped but wasn’t sure what You cut the panels out with? Didn’t You use a jigsaw in the last one? Wasn’t sure what to get… cheers for this
Thanks buddy. No I’ve never used a jig saw and you’d struggle using one because of the tight spaces and uneven surfaces. You need an air compressor and use an air saw to cut out the openings bud 👍🏼
Very interesting van door lock you installed. They have two different ones that are very popular but use puck locks They are unsightly and very vulnerable to defeat. Europeans have far better design, craftsmanship and engineering than the USA In the fields we are more advanced in is due to e Europeans working in the USA. Many Europeans being in the USA since the founding fathers. We love our European brothers and sisters 🙏 Thank you for sharing this video. I'm going to forward it to my cousin who's a licensed locksmith. He may not be aware of this sleek secondary van lock.
Ah yes! You can still get the puck lock van locks here but they are not seen very often these days. And like you say, fairly easy to manipulate. Thanks again for watching 🙏🏼
Hi, I've been interested in training to become a locksmith for quite a few months now. I enjoy watching your videos to get an idea of what the job entails. Do you have a vid about how you got started? Can I ask who you trained with? I've been looking at training courses with Keytek, or MPL and a few others. They all seem to sell themselves pretty well on their websites, but is there anyone you would recommend? I'm quite interested, but a bit scared to take the plunge considering the cost of courses, tools etc. Cheers from Matt
I do like watching tradesmen do a good job. From the locksmiths side, every customer is a potential viewer and subscriber👍🏻
Thank you 🙏🏼
Super nice work.
Thanks Dave, much appreciated buddy 😊🙏🏼
Never seen a van lock like those fitted before. Thanks for showing us this, cheers
They are becoming very popular over here due to tool and van theft 🤨

Hi Matt.
If I was training now to become a locksmith, my course of choice would be with Seth of Fortress Locksmiths in Blackburn buddy 100%
Also I want to know what that old boys story was 😂😂
He had many stories bless him!! Really nice guy 😊
Measure once, cut twice.😆🤪
Hahahaha!! It was only 3mm out so probably wouldn’t of mattered but……………😊
I would be triple checking every hole I made, metal is not so easy to repair as a wooden door frame.
Yep!! I actually do that!! I could probably be finished in half the time 😂😂
Topolino lock pick opens these in seconds
All the new impressioning tools would!
Where are you about
Hey buddy.
I’m in Brighton & Hove 👍🏼
It’s a pretty you didn’t show how you fit the lock to the outside of the door
I'm sorry but I can't believe that you didn't straighten the door with a quick pull, easy and no tools needed, rest of the work was good.
That was the first thing we did when we turned up mate. No joy
Brilliant and just been watching some of your videos and I would definitely use or recommend you.,
