What a beautiful reflection, Yvette! I can really relate to the feeling of stepping out of the bubble - it’s such a transformative experience. The lessons you’ve shared from your move to Switzerland are so valuable. As someone who also works with expats, I see how stepping into a new country opens up a whole new world of growth and understanding. Thanks for sharing your journey so openly - it’s inspiring to see how far you’ve come in just two years!
This deserves to go viral! Thank you for saying all the things to encourage expats. So very special of a video. - much love from a Canadian living in Paris
Awww thank you for watching & leaving such a sweet message!! 🥹❤️ if there's only 1 person who watches my video & finds comfort from it I'm happy!! 🥹❤️ I hope you're doing well in Paris!! 🎉
Dear I am proud of you that you see life better and more beautiful than majority of the negatives peoples. Keep it up nothing more important than happiness & Health 👍👍💕💕💕💕💕
Just returned from the UK. After living 14 years in Switzerland, I still haven’t felt the spark. I miss the UK-the language, and people being open to chat and have a conversation. Switzerland has always felt cold and unwelcoming in so many ways. Boring Sundays :( I keep nagging my husband, "Let's move to the UK.”
@@Tvfleoles8 Small talk is a thing in the french parts of Switzerland, maybe not in the German parts of Switzerland. Learning the language will definitely help you integrate better! But I can uds from your pov, just do what makes you happy!🤭
@@Tvfleoles8 I have made quite a number of Swiss friends in just 2 years, yes they may be shy & conservative but once they warm up to you, they are the kindest & nicest people ever. In all honesty, you can't expect to come to a country, not learn their language (language is THE CORE of culture) or put in effort to integrate, it goes both ways, no one can make you feel welcomed if you're not putting in the effort to get accepted esp not by disrespecting their culture. Sundays are not boring if you know where to go, 14 years is a long time for you to find out.
Working on Sunday is allowed if companies notify SECO. Since you live in an area where a minority of Swiss reside, your experience in Switzerland may differ from that of typical Swiss residents.

Would you do a video or maybe share here. Moving to Switzerland requires a job or? Do you work remotely or u have a job offer there
switzerland is very expensive, without a job, you may not be able to live comfortably
The standard 5 minutes before the 5 minutes, I do that all the time. But yeah, the Romandie doesn't have that as the German parts
Hahaha I'm glad I'm not alone !! 😂❤ I guess each canton has it's own way of dealing with life & it's unique HAHAHAH
Singapore also has it's own short comings lah
