Very true video I also want to move to Switzerland Zurich canton after completing my bachelor's in India then doing masters there followed by doing job, your channel I find quite helpful and this video is really eye-opener,I know that swiss people are very reserved but through the comments I got to know that even living in Switzerland for more then 10 years still they are recognised as foreigners was heartbreaking for me, because I thought after getting citizenship and giving my 100% I will be considered as swiss not as foreigner but this is harsh reality that we need to accept, thank you so much for this video and keep posting the videos because there are very less originality and authentic information in the social media.
I Decided Switzerland because in my preferences and criterias it was the only country that was the only top option. I mean in most of the things Swiss are best ,so I thought why not live in best places.

If you base your life decisions purely on what one or two RUclipsrs experience, then you will certainly deserve the life you live. The people that make it in Switzerland are not swayed by the experience of one or two weaker individuals, but rather are those that are confident go-getters, willing to adapt to a new environment and put their hearts and soul into projects and jobs that will further them as well as society. If you can develop THAT mindset, you can make it anywhere in the world. If you remain a person that is easily discouraged because someone else finds something difficult and clearly appears to be more of a follower and a victim than a maker and shaker, then Switzerland, being recognized year after year as one of the most competitive societies on the planet, is probably not for you.
Whichever path you choose: good luck to you! 🤞🤞

@@swaroopsdscn6713 first I thought I would go directly to Switzerland but that was very expensive and as settlement point of view and security in eu. It takes 12 years to get swiss citizenship. So now I will first go Germany which is comparatively cheaper and acquiring citizenship is easier and faster and education is also free and subsidized In public universities.

Your ability to reflect on your situation is a great asset in better understanding a new, foreign, highly developed society, just like the one you came from. Good luck with your integration and adaptation to this strange but also wonderful society that will give you many opportunities, if you seize them. 🤞🤞

These issues are not specific to switzerland. People adapt differently. I lived in Switzerland as a high school student for almost 4 years. Loved it! I am now in my 50s and would gladly move back. I've never had a problem with the distance from family, especially in the times we live in now (internet, video calls, etc.). As far ad fitting in, I felt far more comfortable in Switzerland than I ever have at "home" ( Southern Indiana). While I appreciate the young lady's feelings, it's really within each individual's make up as to how they respond, and different per age group

The reason why so many think they become never one of us is, because many Swiss have the impression that expats are only here to earn big money and are gone after 2-3 years. Therefore it's also difficult for expats to find real Swiss friends. Another thing is, Swiss people tend to have only a few real good friends cause they invest a lot of time to maintain their friendships. But that means if you have a Swiss calling you a friend you have a friend for a life-time! Best way to achieve that here is, joining a local sports club or what ever. I live in a small town in Lucerne and as you might know, Fasnacht is a big deal in Canton Lucerne. So the have a super old & traditional Fasnacht guild here and every November they chose a new guild leader, which is called "Heini Vater" for the coming Fasnacht season. 2 Years ago a local Indian guy which was a member for years in that Guild was voted as Heini Vater.

I lived both in Canada and Switzerland. Living in Switzerland is easier, as I learned a lot in Canada. Moving to another country can be great but also hard. Maybe Switzerland is easier as I am European. As for missing family, my parents are dear, Dad died when I was in Canada, Mom died when I was in Switzerland so I have no longer home to come back to. As being a foreigner is not a problem for me, I don't care. But this is all personal and very much like your perspective.

what i dont understand is why most asians move to the french part of switzerland. its a small part of switzerland that is so different from the rest of us. culturally speaking. 80% in CH speak german. if you dont speak german you are right, you wont be considered one of us. its rough and just a fact. i think that is true for any country you go to probably.
in my 20's i moved to another country for a couple years. i see many smiliarities to what you talk about in your video. i was lucky to speak their language and was able to blend in well. as an asian female in switzerland you dont have to worry about physically blending in. i think 99% of swiss people would never judge you just because you look different.
curious as to why the french part was your choice.

In one Video she is actually speaking some Swiss-German. But indeed, when she cannot speak german it's difficutl to fit in. On the other hand how many Swiss-germans can speak French very well? I had to learn it for 5 years in school but I forgot the most cause I didnt use it. And I also think as an Asian woman nobody would judge her by her look, Asian residents are still very rare her in Switzerland compared to residents from other countries.

I have been living in Switzerland for 14 years. I'm a Sri Lankan British who moved to Switzerland in 2010. My daughter was 2 when we moved here. Until now, I have never blended in. I'm married to a Swiss, but his family always made me feel like a foreigner, and I never understood their mentality and values. All my friends here are foreigners. Switzerland is not a place of heaven; yes, it's a neutral country with a good economy and well-paid people, but we also pay back a lot. Taxes, healthcare, rent, groceries, and eating out are all very expensive. Switzerland isn't just beautiful mountains and nature; when you start living here, the apartments are quite small, and if you want to live in a fancy neighborhood, the rents are crazy expensive. Public transport is expensive too. It's so difficult to find a decent job if you can't speak the local languages. Don't be fooled by social media; there's always a reality in every situation. The grass is not always greener on the other side, as you may think.

Thank you for watching & leaving such a heartfelt comment! I'm sorry to hear what you've been through, wish I could just hug you right now :') I totally get what you mean about not fitting in & it's just something that doesn't go away with time. But yeah every country definitely has it's pros & it's cons, at the end of the day, I think wherever in the world you choose to plant your roots, as long as you're content that's all that matters. & yes don't get fooled by social media, the grass is greener where you water it ! :)
