I am a 62 year old white man grew up in the South. My childhood in summer was get up early on Saturday do any chores I needed to do then watch Soul Train on my tiny black and white TV. After Soul Train ended it was time for Baseball Game of The Week, I grew up dirt poor had nothing but great great memories from the entire decade of the 1970s. It was an interesting decade to be a kid in. Not perfect by any stretch but we had great music from all genre. I wouldnt trade it for anything.
The band played this at my son's wedding in Jupiter Florida - lot of colors and different religious beliefs but a wonderful time and "City Lights" sang this as the last song and we formed a line holding each other at the waist and danced around "Admiral's Cove" and showed how united all people could be. Ironically, my son's best friend was pretty much a racist and he actually led the "Love Train!"

👍Yes, it was fun. Gerald was always organizing us kids into a singing group. 😂 We would prepare “shows”, practice and then perform for our parents before the night was over. It was fun. Sometimes we’d be over their house and Mr. Eddy would come home (we knew he was a famous singer but it was still a mystery to us kids 😂). He was there but not there. Sometimes he’d speak to everyone and retreat to his room to chill until everyone left. One thing I definitely remember is there was always good food and laughter in their house. Their mom Shirley was always so kind to everyone. He kids absolutely loved & adored her. They were good people. 😢💝
