Just the best music of our time..
The backstabbers who do the most harm are often those who are closest to you.

"Black" music"???? What's"white music, as opposed to Black music"? I'm curious.
@@imbees2white music is black music but watered down to a white audience to feel comfortable…..I think 😂
@@imbees2Music has No colour... there's just great music and bad music....This IS great music.
@@Dannyboy32145 BEST COMMENT HERE!❤❤❤
❤❤ nothing like it today
Soul Train introduced this white boy to the awesomeness of a black music. I had a black and white TV that only caught 2 channels, and Soul Train was one of the shows I'd watch. Thank you Don Cornelius!
Notice how as soon as the music starts, look at the crowd, absolutely everyone is grooving to the same beat and in rhythm. It's awesome, I don't think you will every see that today.
I said the same thing ! They got straight to it !
Because they told them to do that, it doesn't look good in a music tv-show when people don't dance😉
@@NakedPigeon Dude, of course their told to dance. They're not told to do it in unison. I've see plenty of other Soul Train episodes where they don't do it in that way.
@@NakedPigeon He wasn't talking about that.
I know right! So good
61 year old White dude diggin' what these Brothers put down! Timeless.
alright now, michaelwalker!!!

It was the golden age. It will never be repeated.
The 70s is unmatched and still in 2024
This was Motown in the 60s.
@@edwinsharp9447 ok Kool AND THE MUSIC WAS STILL ROCKIN IN THE 70s 😊

YES!!!
Wow
I have Loved this song ever since I first heard it on the radio in the 70’s
Man those afros. Some healthy hair back then
Healthier food lives no 💊😢🙏
Miss this time when Motown, Jazz, Rock, Country music was real!
The best hands down. We will never have music like this EVER again ❤
My Generation had the epic music !!!!.

As a retired lawyer this is my song. So many backstabbers in my profession. Probably in most people’s I guess. Just love it
LMAO retired lawyer, and backstabbers is your song. Dot it now!
SO many everywhere girlfriend It’s so sad Humanity is lost unfortunately
It's a tradition in my Black communities.
Happy Birthday to Eddie Levert, longtime member and co-lead singer of the legendary O'Jays, born June 16th, 1942. On June 16, 2024 he celebrated his 82nd birthday. By any measure, the O'Jays are one of the most important Soul Music groups of all-time. Whether delivering funky dance music, romantic ballads, or thoughtful social commentary in song
Amen!!!
Same birthday as Tupac
Absolutely!
Absolutely.
To think that all this great music was only transmitted by our AM car radios. Not even Walkman back then
folks had drip swag in this era no sagging no twerking pure dance groovy moves
What a beautiful time this was loved soul train

My favorite song of all times

I just think this song is one of the smoothest jams in history! What they DO!
They smile 😃 in your face, all the time they want to take your place. Backstabbers!! Thank you Ojays for this classic
I already know the words
Rip Thom Bell, who arranged this song and produced some of the other great Philly Soul groups.
The ojs were not from Philadelphia
They were from ohio like many other
Fabulous black groups the stylistics
As a 11 year old growing up in 1972 birmingham UK,anytime I got to watch soul train I used to think "these folks singing and the live audience were the coolest thing I had ever seen ".50 + years on they still look cool as.
No phones in sight. Just everyone enjoying the moment
When music was music. I'm 62 years old and I'm still getting down to The O'Jays.....❤
Yup great era indeed I miss it soooo
Absolutely ❤❤❤❤❤
Motown should be mandatory in elementary school every day, like 1hour of soul train then the people would come together again. Damm I miss the 60’s 70’s 80’s what a time.
And That Sound Of Philadelphia!
@@dustylover100 Music sung by black people gives the white people world the opportunity to look and evaluate life of a Black person, in comparison to life of a white person. Music does evaluate and put the right feeling on the money.

That's nonsense, I am an Englishman who grew up with all this music. It is just good music well written, well performed.
Why does everything have to be viewed through the lenses of race or colour.
Isn't that what Martin Luther King was fighting against !
NOT MOTOWN!!!!!!
He never said it was.
I want this music back Forever!
73 YO Black woman loving music.

60 yr old white woman loving this music for 50 years. I remember my mom listening to Motown on the radio. I know im white trust me I have soul like a black woman. Oh a the rhythm also, lol.
Eddie Levert and Walter are over 80 years old now. Still singing this song with pride and excellent voices.
Are they looking for other work? Like, say, President of the United States?
True fact, golden age, will never be repeated, never see this again, the mess they are doing now is just smoke and mirrors, no real talent, no real gift. Just smoke and mirrors, degrading everything and everyone.
I am smiling back with this song playing on the earbuds. 2024 in the building 80's Baby lives forever.
I wanna be on that dance floor with all those beautiful people!! WHAT A TUNE!! ABSOLUTE CLASSIC!!
Im in love with that girl in front with the white top and that BIG smile...so sweet

My first show with the O’Jays in 1967 they came to New York New Jersey. Walter had a broke leg. They put a chair on the stage. He sat there in the middle and they gave the baddest show I ever seen I was hooked ever since.❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
I miss these great groups, their dancing, and clothes. They had dignity to dress well and it also showed respect for their audience.
Two weeks ago, I shot the breeze with a classmate; theme of the conversation was Soul train, Cool Jazz festivals around Los Angeles and how blessed we were to have lived in those times.
3 days ago, death just happened to her healthy-looking self. She left peacefully; I just know our conversation contributed to her peaceful departure.
Went to see her and told her someday we would,

@@Dannyboy32145 no the fuck it isn’t you guys just copy whatever black Americans do and it’s so obvious you hate giving us credit for it as well…… you’re heavy metal and rock music comes from black Americans…….. Nobody absolutely fucking nobody plays, Polish music, or European music…… you white Europeans just copy white Americans who copy whatever black Americans do.. and then refuse to give them any credit…… and the Asians and the rest of the people around the world just copy white people…… at one point in time I have newspaper articles were white, American men wanted rock ‘n’ roll music banned and called it crazy people, music, and degenerate Negro music…….. now white people are the ones telling everybody who gets to be in the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame…… y’all just create a lesser shittier version of what we did and change the title of it …. Nobody absolutely nobody is playing Polish or eastern European music……. Unless you guys were strictly copying American style music, which the whole world does………
Can we bring back this era?

Man, I truly truly miss and get sad when I hear music like this because this was true music. They talked about real things and real problems. They also made beautiful songs to bring us together. I miss real groups like the O’Jays and so sad is there is no more real R&B a whole genre of music that spoke to our hearts family our loved ones and mostly our women they said the words we could not say to each other but we let that die where is the humanity going next we don’t know how to talk to each other. We talk to each other but you put on some R&B and they would all be better.🙏🏽🔥
And to think this great music was wasted on the reception of AM car radios
This funky music makes me remember Soul Train, back in the day. I was young, in good health, danced ALL the time, watched ST on Saturday Mornings doing chores before I could do anything else, and the world was so different, mom & dad were alive and I was just a kid! SIGH
I hear ya, boy do I hear ya❤️
I just LOVE how HYPE Eddie was!!! The energy. The performance. The vocals. Eddie comes in strong...Walter smooth...Will ALWAYS supporting. #brotherhood ❤ REAL ENTERTAINERS
The F***ing O'Jays man....too good for words
Look how together they are. Perfect footwork. Perfect rhythm timing and harmony. Why dont people do that nowadays. Plus the acoustics and sound is perfect. That is Soul Train for you
It’s probably specially choreographed for tv
