How to beat sentries:
1. Get Fire Breathing
2. ???
3. Enjoy your free relic
Me: I know Act 1 Elites well enough, I don't need to watch the intro, there's no new information in there
Jorbs: So this is Norbert.
Me: aaand I'm hooked to the intro :)
This series just hit the next level! Amazing work, this is seriously instructive!
These make for excellent “explained a really good amount runs” as an alternative to the overexplained (which I also love) loving this series a lot so far, look forward to every upload
That Act 1 map is indeed almost restart worthy lmao.
Jorbs is so powerful they killed an enemy with the CONCEPT of violence
This series is perfect for my skill level because I'm very comfortable with ascension zero and know the words on mostly every card and relic, but this helps build good habits and theory for pushing higher ascensions (my highest ascension is currently a7 on silent)
I was like that too not too long ago, now I am at a19 on every char except Watcher because she plays weird
The challenge makes it much more fun and just so much more satisfying when you achieve a win on later ascension levels :D
I'm also comfortable with ascension zero, my objective is build consistently a good deck, but it's sooo hard
A1 Jorbs content with a lead in PPT? Huge poj
Just wanted to drop back in and say that your comments on Dark Embrace were SO helpful. I was always reluctant to take it on early floors without exhaust already in my deck, but after this video, I gave it a shot and blasted through A17 after being stuck for WEEKS. You're doing the Lord's work!
That Knowing Skull was much braver than I could ever be even on A1 lol! I am excited to see if hubris causes any otherwise preventable deaths, as that's likely where I go wrong when I go from A20H to A1H.
being unreasonably greedy with knowing skull is, like, one of my favorite things to do in this game
honestly i can't wait for hubris to rear its head
Wow, this vid was posted just in time for my lunch break. How considerate of you. Thank you Jorbs.
I have since sworn off twitch back like 8 yrs ago. Ur YT Videos are much appreciated so ty for loading this 0-20 it's been good for me to brush up on the basics an I have already caught a few mistakes I made.
Also just in general I appreciate the work you didn't "need or have to" so thank you. I look forward to the rest of this series
I love how the fact that when he's explaining the scaling cards for sentries for different characters then he just explains "If you're using watcher just kill them"...XD
Loving the series. I honestly have gotten way better at the game just from watching the first 4 videos.
These are lots of things that I’ve noticed in the back of my mind from watching all your runs, but hearing it spelled out like this really helps me internalized all the information. Thanks professor jorbs!
Love this series! Love how deeply you think about this game. Makes me slow down on my runs a think a bit more, so thank you.
love it! discussion about dam vs utility at 25m already worth so much, ty!
Ah that avocado rat floor, good laughter
Watching recent jorbs always do 3 energy has been inspiring and lets me think of ways to let the cards do the energy for me
enjoying the runs! crazy great luck throughout, with a great display of your skill too.
Jorbs enphasises how strong Dark Embrace is -- gets offered six of them
Love the series! Thoroughly appreciated.
This is fantastic stuff! Thank you Prof. Jorbs.
Great presentation and explanation, hit A20 on Ironclad after watching your runs and spireside chats (really enjoyed the one on how you think about strategy games with the optimal vs nemesis play breakdown). Could have styled on the heart though with a 1 card unceasing top flash of steel kill ;) Cheers!
Love this series! Thank you for the awesome content!
I like the idea of covering the different act elites over the next 4 (3 now) videos. Good way to avoid information overload. This series rocks!
HOLY SHIT this is ridiculous. Incredible level of playing.
I really appreciate the elite information you gave. I’ve just started getting into this game and this series has been very helpful for understanding the game better.
I do have a suggestion though, I think it might be better for information retention, and pacing, to do one elite at a time (start, after act 1 boss, after act 2 boss). The information is number heavy, which can tend to blend together over time. This could also allow some more depth and practical examples for each as you play the act (and an easy topic to default back to if you’re steam rolling the early ascensions or get lucky rewards).
Why is it that when I watch someone else play, I can correctly guess which cards to play (I try to pause and think what will be played then check to see if the streamer does the same or different), but when I'm playing, I have a crayon lodged into my brain?
Played a 1000 hours, and never considered the exact size of my deck for Sentries. Pr Jorbs taught me a good lesson today.
48:24 If you took another gold from Knowing Skull, you would have literally died asking for the way out.
The tips at the start are super helpful, even for someone like myself with over 450 hours.
Amazing work!! thanks
that cursed skull event was beautiful. really shows just how incredibly easy A1 is compared to A20 (and how broken your deck already was).
Ohhh you saucy dog! Back with the topic videos, love em love em love em
Wow this video is awesome. Thanks for this :)
I really love this series! checking every day to see if there is one uploaded
Also, was slightly embarrassed (couldn't find a better word) that I didn't know the Sentries consideration with deck reshuffle/deck size with how many of your runs on youtube I have watched. Hope to finally see you on twitch. Thank you for your insights & great content.
Never miss any lecture by Jorbs.
RUclips Jorbs for the win. Twitch Jorbs is so yesterday. Nord should have you do an explanation of their password manager. You are an excellent teacher.
Wow. To exist in a world where beautiful people like you exist as well.

This was great
Watcher strategy vs Tri-Sentries: just Alpha Strike the whole pod lol
i like this thanks
I think you forgot to include jaw wyrm in the elite tips section...
I rly would like to see exhaust build without piramid, great video anyway
You will almost assuredly see one on this ladder. But once you have Dark Embrace in play the pyramid isn’t doing a ton to change how an exhaust build works, imo. Especially if you have corruption.
dude its amazing, can i see more of you?
Sadly, no sound again :D
it's so peaceful without music
My card in the wall is a searing blow+"infinity". I did some shenanigans.
Laga debuffs strength before dex.
Also (thunder)bolt (ice)beam was a common cover set for special attackers back when I played competitive Pokemon. Kinda funny that that is senties moveset.
Jorbs - if somethink went/going bad why u dont restart battle/choice by "save and quit" then returning? For example - u attacked but had to defense so u saving and quit, then returning starting battle again and making good choice.
Second example - book event (i think about necronomicon) when u lose HP for relict, so if u dont want the relict just restart by saving, quiting, returning and take HP back, SAME thing with minus HP relict chance event.
Not to speak for Jorbs, but that can certainly be unsatisfying. If you make a mistake then you should live with the mistake. It's good if you realize the mistake, certainly, but going back and having that safety net does affect the skill gains overall. And also it does feel kinda cheap.
i do not do that because most players would consider it cheating. i don't think there's anything wrong with you doing it in your own runs if it's how you enjoy to play though!
Do Ascension Rank Increase Mods exist? Would you ever consider adding and attempting it?
Take all elites or die trying #I'mAwfulAtGames
Hey, you have spread sheets for all of the enemies right? I was wondering is there any way I could download it?
The music is off again
Question: since True Grit exhausts a random card instead of one you choose, is it still good?
Gremlin Norb
I wish I could vibe through an A20 run 😔
Is there one of these videos for the act 3 elites? Those are the ones I really struggle with and end up trying to avoid.
So, then I have a relatively complex question I have been in before that after 4k hours, I still feel like I don’t have the best answer to. You have a run where you kind of have to take two elites in a row on A20 with only a shop in between and your boss is the Guardian and with three fights and a campfire before the elites. Between the first two fights, the best cards you get are a Rampage and a Pommel Strike, which signals to me that I don’t think I will struggle that much with Lagavulin, but Sentries and Nob are still up in the air, and a weakening potion which I intend to use as a supplement for Nob or Laga if I need it. However, I feel like I’d still struggle with Sentries. On the third fight’s card reward, I find an Evolve, a Wild Strike, and a Shrug it Off. What card do you click, and what do you upgrade? Evolve would be taken as a specific counter pick to sentries, which is a fight I’m actively worried about, Wild Strike would be taken as a potential boost to any elite fight, but is not a card I’d like in the long run, and Shrug is just a decent card that hurts against Gremlin Nob. Is it worth it to take a card just as a counter pick, or do you take the strong card now, or the card that will be decent throughout the run? In terms of upgrades, I’m already kind of leaning towards a Bash upgrade or a Rampage upgrade to just really solidify a win against the other two elites, but no upgrade I currently have really helps much with sentries at all. I don’t think an upgrade is worth specifically a counter pick, but I might be wrong here as well. Also, is my evaluation right? I feel like I end up in similar situations to this relatively often, but some are more clear-cut than others.
Game sound went and disappeared again.
Im working my way to A20 on silent and i am starting to think i need this to beat some act 1 bosses. The shield crab(after all this time i dont know its name) really lets me have it. So here we go.
I think i might be underestimating powers like noxious fumes and footwork. Maybe poison too. Sometimes i feel like these cards don't do enough the turn you play them, like spending the mana on them is not worth then they feel like a curse on the deck.
I see that map, I take Neow's and pray I don't hit a fight in a ? before the super elite
Does video on elites

Can we get a spire chat on Gremlin horn?
