That's a nice Buck. My oldest hunting knife is a Buck 119 Special. I do have others but it's always in my pack & always gets used when I have game to clean & cut down for the cooler.

For about 20 years I carried a Buck Cadet and used it daily at work. I have have the original Work Sharp Precision Adjust but it doesn’t work well with the smaller knife blades. I have been eyeballing the new sharpener because I understand it works on the smaller skinnier blades. I do own several Buck knives but they are all slip joints.
Just recently found our channel when trying to get my foot in the door of sharpening in general but hopefully going to be able to get a local sharpening company, your channel has really helped when using stones and knowing to hold angles without guides. Have the new Pro PA coming in on wednesday so that should be fun to tinker around with! keep up the content sweet!

Very satisfying video! The new Work Sharp Sharpening System really is “THE NEXT NEW” thing! My curiosity runs over but the piggy bank is currently empty! Here”s hopin” regarding the Bantam! BTW, I use multiple glass-on-aluminum for carriers to hold my lapping films. Works great and far cheaper than ceramic stones. The aluminum backer is profiled exactly like my stones, so quick to change!

That last test on the Bess was way too fast, it needs to be done much slower to be more accurate. Not saying the knife isn't ridiculously sharp, it's just that those tests need to be done very slowly.

I've used Jende lapping film, and it's pretty rugged, can easily glide edge-leading & trailing...
I like the video I have the lapping film for The original precision adjust love the edge I get I will have to wait to get the new ones when work sharp comes out with more porcelain plate until then I’ll just have to wait For the lapping film

this sharpener is like the big brother version of the one i have, mines flexes if i press a lil too hard, does this one suffer from flexing too?
I received my PA sharpener from WS yesterday and I used it on one of my Damascus knives and it did a really good job and I am really happy with the results. I also have the other version from WS and the new system is so much easier to use and does a phenomenal job. I highly recommend the new sharpener.

@@hiramrodriguez4323 not too long, I just made the blank steel plates and used the lapping films on them. Once the lapping films wear out I’ll put new ones on the plate

Never had a Buck folder.
My oldest and most used knife was a Buck. Since then, I've enjoyed several higher quality knives. I ordered the Work Sharp Pro PA after fighting their website. I'm waiting for it to be delivered and in the mean time, learning how to use it properly. Thanks for the videos. Normally I don't comment, but a free Buck is worth it. LOL

Could you calibrate that angle measure device on the base of the grinder?
That would eliminate any mistake of an uneven or tilted table.
I don't own this grinder, so i wonder if the base provides enough space to put it on...

Bought my first buck knife (a fixed blade) in early 1960s.
Does the buck knife come with a belt pouch?
I bought the knife at a souvenir shop in Yosemite National Park while on vacation with my family. I still have that knife.
This particular one does not have a belt pouch but it does have a nice chrome pocket clip on the one side. Its sharp too. :)

Buck makes a great knife
The ceramic plate is about 2000 grit, why did you use the 30 micron lapping film after the ceramic, when 30 micron is like 600 grit? Shouldn't you have progressed with the 9 micron film after the ceramic?

Had a buck 119 passed down from my grandfather who passed it down to my uncle and eventually passed on to me. Someone stole it from my bag I left behind on a hunting trip and I've never forgiven myself.
