"take it at your own pace and don't lets someone try to tell you what to do and how fast your supposed to do it skateboarding is your journey its you and your board and that's it" love that quote
I commute from Queens to Manhattan on my board almost everyday. I work off 34th street a block from the empire state building. That area is hectic but the time I save riding is unbeatable. I've never slammed from traffic or other people. Literally I've only had a bad fall from a rock. Another great thing with skating in new york is the discrepancy of whether a skateboard belongs on the street or sidewalk. Because they don't know we don't necessarily need to obey traffic laws. Now, obviously I'm safe about it, but looking and riding through red lights is a great way to get away from a pack of cars plus transitioning to the sidewalk from the street is nice when the road sucks or there's too many cars. Bikes here are technically not allowed on the sidewalk.
Yea here in ireland skateboarding is a grey area it can be for both sidewalk and road even if a pedestrian walks suddenly infront of you and you hit them because your technically still a pedestrian too even if your on wheels. With skateboards going electric now they still cant police it. Also id get softer wheels to glide over rocks and sticks.
All modes of skating make good city and town transportation. Scooters, inlines (rollerblades), boards, rip sticks, just anything with wheels on it and a skill ceiling to master is a very rewarding and cheap mode of transportation.
@@karie_1581 Guess it depends on their true intentions and their perceived intention based on a short areal view recording. To me it just looks like they were checking their doors, with the skater out of mind.
I love the idea of commuting using skateboards but the roads in my country is atrocious and makes so much noise and it's just overall uncomfortable to use in the urban and the rural areas.
not to mention skateboards are frown upon and seen as a sign of troublemaking, with the southern part of my country outright banning people from using it and arresting those who violate the rule

Bro imagine the $$ you saved in gas and parking. I’m just starting to commute using a long board.
I'm so scared of skating on roads or around cars , I'm still new but I usually have to carry it somewhere to skate around

anyone else notice that car trying to hit him with the door at 2:21
That person is such an asshole, I hope they know that if he/she actually injured him that's assualt
Pretty sure they were just checking to see if it was open. If they were trying to hit him, they need better accuracy.
@@jandaris7214 yea but why even bother to move close to the skater?

nice quote to end off at
Super cool!!!☺
What to look for when choosing a board?
I want to ride but here in america. There are odd laws designed to fu-- me over.
Wouldn't a kick scooter have all the same benefits, be even more efficient and require 1/100th the learning curve?
I’d argue that even a car might be even better
and my left ear enjoyed this video
Do A Kickflip!
Great video
1:09 he looks like kanye west 🤣
Music is overbearing. You cannot hear what's important.
Just need softer wheels
Right now I think the best transportation is the scooter 🛴 especially a small one! Take it with you anywhere & goes as fast as 5mph & more 👍
