I don't know why everyone is talking shit on Zumiez lol Everytime I walked in they were nice. People just like to nit pick and don't know what the fuck they're talking about..
This employee is exactly who you want working and representing your skateboard shop. He’s great with kids, patient, and knows exactly what he’s doing. Seriously, he makes me want to buy a skateboard and my kids don’t even skate!!

Going into a skate shop can be really intimidating especially for beginner skaters, but employees like this make the experience much better. This guy is also explaining the parts of the board and making it interesting. He’s doing a really great job, he needs a raise

This reminds me a lot of going to the guitar shop as a kid in the late 90s/early 2000s. They'd let me behind the counter just like this, helped me set up the guitar and showed me how to re-string and set intonation, etc. Always loved it when someone knows what they're doing and has the patience to teach you about it.

Every Zumiez I’ve been to has had skaters as employees. A lot of times, my friend recognizes employees at Zumiez from skating with them or snowboarding with them

The dudes behind the counter at skate shops are always so chill. Can tell they love what they do.
I worked at a Sporting Goods store back in the day. I helped a young man pick out a baseball glove. I explained to him about breaking it in and taking care of it. He and his mom appreciated the personal attention I gave him. Months later that mom saw me out and about. She approached me and thanked me. Her son was doing everything I told him and was very protective of his glove. When you share that enthusiasm with someone new to an endeavor, it passes it on for future generations and keeps the love of the it.

Thats why I still love skateshops. Started when I was 13, I dont liked talking with other people - but everyone at our skateshop was like this dude. Super friendly and also showed me a lot. I always bought my decks in the shop and scraped together all my money. Now that I'm way over 30, I don't skate anymore (too dangerous because of work), but I go there every few months to see what new decks are available and buy some to hang on the wall. People are still in a good mood, skating is a lifestyle.

I had a similar experience at SBI as a kid, don't remember the face of the guy that helped me, nor his name, but I'll always appreciate him for showing and explaining parts of the process. Just made every board purchase memorable

The nostalgia. Used to hit Zumiez EVERYTIME I was at the mall and got know the guys that worked in there pretty well. Didn't even buy anything half the time, just fucked with the vibe. This dude putting the board together is awesome.

Ive smoked weed since 12 but didn't try real psychedelics until 17ish,and I felt like it was a good time for me.
I was straying from just smoking weed and having goals. Getting into harder stuff and feeling stagnant in my life at that time. But psychedelics kinda made me feel so damn bad about myself on some trips that I felt like I had to change.
Now I just smoke weed again as of the last few years and I'm kinda scared to try psychs again cuz it's been so long haha
@Retain your seed and be a king man I'm glad to hear that! I only had a couple buddies that got into psychs with me. After highschool I watched a lot of my friends lose their lives literally and metaphorically due to hard drugs. Mostly meth around here.
I'm just glad I had a good girlfriend, positive psych experiences, and family that helped lead me down the right path

Got a board from them because their selection was kinda cool, they sent it in a giant box but wrote me a note saying sorry while drawing a stick figure of someone going down a rail, it was cute and the board came faster then it said so I'm pretty pleased by them

Props to the parents! My mom would always take me but would end up waiting outside cuz the music was "too much!" But even so, she was always there so I really loved those moments with her! Much love love and respect towards you guys and the super friendly worker!

I really like how when he is about to put on the wheels and stuff, instead of just showing him how to do it, he has him go besides him and has him learning hands on while guiding him. Great customer service.
