Awesome tune so damn heavy with that intro makes you sit up and beg and Peter green chirps in with incredible vocals .... you can't ever ignore music like this...raw, loud, melodic and one of those tunes you instantly recognise and remains with you for life.Peter was brave and absolutely right to withdraw from the public eye...yes it was drug induced but credit to him he did the right thing rather than join that infamous 27 club (example of what may have been) this early line up miles apart from the "Rumours" era of the Mac ...my opinion hands down this classic lineup is the "real deal" of the Mac ...the later and commercial line up while hugely successful don't quite cut it for me .... forever argumentative and also best known for "AIRING ITS DIRTY LAUNDRY IN PUBLIC" ,as always thanks for reading my post....any comments either good or bad are always appreciated and I respect you for taking timeout to respond!!!

Epic performance, and classic for sure. I am sorry for coming to know and appreciate Peter Green so late, but I do know him now. Still don't see the need to put down the "Rumors" era of the Mac, as it is as artistically and commercially quality output. Peter Green was special, I understand that.

This is almost 50 years ago! It's strange how "fifty years ago" has changed. Nowadays 50 years ago feels recent. Back in 1969 fifty years ago (1919) felt like ancient history.

You can tell at the end of this video that Peter has the neck humbucker in his Les Paul facing the wrong way. I'm not sure if it was done by accident or intentional but it played a big role in the sound of his tone. Now, some of the modern Les Paul's have a switch built in that reverses the polarity of the neck pick-up allowing you to achieve a similar tone to Peter Green.

WOW! What incredible guitar playing. I didn't realize that it was Danny Kirwan doing the lead work on that Peter Green song OH WELL! I couldn't help but notice that Jeremy Spencer wasn't playing ANY guitar on this live version and it cuts short the solos. STILL an awesome version. SO SAD about Danny Kirwan. The video mentioned that Peter Green battled mental illness BUT Danny Kirwan appeared to have it WORSE. RIP.

    • @MrMoggyman

RIP Danny Kirwan. A gifted superlative musician. Thank you for your contribution to the music that will never be forgotten. Your memory will live on for all time through your music. Oh Well is as much Danny Kirwan's as it is Peter Green's, Danny having wrung out all the riffs of the song from his Les Paul. A wonderful piece that shows the truly magical skills of these most gifted musicians. Jeremy Spencer is not playing simply because he had a different style, but mainly because he had stated that he would not play guitar if Peter was playing. Peter and Danny both suffered deep mental psychosis. Peter emerged from this first, but it took decades. Danny emerged much later, and like Peter, actually took up the guitar again. True legends, my heart goes out to both of them for the suffering they have sustained in their lives due the their illness. God bless both of them.

I can't help about the shape I'm in
I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to
Now, when I talked to God, I knew He'd understand
He said, "Stick by my side and I'll be your guiding hand
But don't ask me what I think of you
