  • Timelapse of making a stamp for ''11:11'' - two layer linocut print.
    This was an experimental print where I added an additional section to an already carved lino.

    About paper: Artists’ handmade paper made from the inner bark or bast fibre of mitsumata. Mitsumata is lighter toned and softer than lokta. Known as argeli in Nepal, this is a native plant of the Himalayan foothills. Mitsumata is a sustainable and renewable resource. Plants are cropped above ground level and can be reharvested after 3-4 years. The papers are made using the Japanese nagashizuki dipping and layering method of papermaking.

    This is incredible, I also make linocut prints, but I normally kinda work with the medium and allow the designs to not be very exact - you are inspiring me though to go the limits and try to make more exact work, it looks so nice and clean, you are a master at cutting

    Have you considered getting a table specifically meant for tracing? Light shines from underneath so you can see both pieces of paper really well.

      Yes i have light table like that, i just like tracing paper for smaller things better!

    Beautiful. The print of this is in the background of the "smell of rain" video. Are you working on the all at the same time?

    • @EmilsSalmins
      @EmilsSalmins  4 года назад +2

      Yes I'm juggling maybe 3/4 prints at the same time. That ''smell of the rain'' print have 5 layers , so it takes some time to print. At the moment there's only last layer left to print.

      @@EmilsSalmins the ink must take a long time to dry? Does that mean there will be prints of "the smell of rain" available in the future?
