    As a Korean, this was very pleasing to watch. Wonderful craftsmanship! The tigers portrays deeply into the Korean culture, and drawn in many different ways depending on it's symbolic meaning.

      @Mr Man Korean tigers were hunted and all disappeared in Japanese Occupation of Korea.

      SuperTRev no one said they did

    • @alskarmode
      @alskarmode 5 лет назад +3

      SuperTRev Yes, because Korean traditional art often has tigers in it. No one said anything about Korea “owning” tigers so wtf are you talking about?

    • @alskarmode
      @alskarmode 5 лет назад +3

      SuperTRev Exactly it’s a popular theme in many countries traditional artwork. No one said anything about Korea “owning” them or it being something special or unique to Korea. So your comment was random

    Now I understand why artist charge so much for their "prints". Thanks for helping me understand, and great job 👍

    • @feenikss
      @feenikss 5 лет назад +4

      Well, there are different "prints"- digital prints and "original" or whatever it's called- linocut, woodcut, lithography, serigraphy etc., so Your confusion is quite valid! If Emils would decide to sell a digitally printed copy of his linocut then he'd probably call it a "reproduction".

      @elizavetagluskova5495 5 лет назад +1

      I had to learn different print techniques in school and alone for the work of the cut a print is worth it's money. Then you have to consider how many prints were made. If there is only 30 original prints than it is much pricier than 1000 print. And then the price adds up or decrease because of who is printing. If the artist themself do it is is worth more and most of the time it is the first batch of prints. Artist that print alot have assistants for that and these are not that valuable than the first ones the artist make.

      Usually you print out stuff with an industrial printer, not using blocks like in the video, although some art is done that way but it takes a lot more time

    • @totally_not_a_bot
      @totally_not_a_bot 5 лет назад +4

      What you don't see are the hundreds of other squares the artist did first. Do some small things and they won't be so scary anymore :)

    I find the linocut itslef is just as beautiful as the print made from it. So, it was diffucult to watch it getting cut apart to create the second color. But that adds to the one of a kind nature of it. Mind boggling skills...

    A tiger and a magpie. This theme was prevalant for the whole 1800s in Korea and was well known for its playful tiger character facing magpie’s provocation.
    AND you did this here magnificiently! I am pleasantly suprised by your work. beautiful. Would love to buy your printing.

    The most mesmerising crafting I have seen in a long long time. It made my heart 💜 pound and tears came to my eyes. I am trying a Lino cut process right now. There is something sacred about sketching, then tracing, drawing and painting before I transfer it to the Lino. I was looking for how to do layers.I am a long way off from this. I want to be a crafts person as realise that modern life is too detached from the beauty of making and doing. Loved this.

Maybe not everything but deffintly on Top 3.. At least. Thanks 4 uploading and give an insight.... Seems also really relaxing. More than great

    Stunning! And satisfying, and well edited. Honestly, when the mid-tones layer was pulled, I thought that combination of tones was just brilliant. The black brings it together, but just having the tones of grey on the antiqued paper made it look super vintage and utterly lovely. Great work!
