  • Oh it's been a while since I did a huge linoprint like this and it took me a whole month to finish. Since I got my pritning press I wanted to experiment with some new printing techniques, which is why I decided to try the reduction printing method. It was such a fun experience and I really like the result. I hope you enjoy watching this process 🌸

    It came out wonderfully, I tried this method at school with 3 colours and it is definitely hard to achieve such a clean intricate design. Congratulations it looks perfect.

    Wow, what a fantastic print. So much involved in producing it. It has definitely got the Alfons feel to it. I love the colours and the layers. It must be a really nervous process till you get to the final layer and they have all worked. I can imagine it would be hard if you did 3 good layers and then the last one went wrong!!!! I think your lino cut looks like a work of art as well as the prints it made. Thank you for showing us the process, you should definitely be proud of it.😀

      Thank you so much! Yea it was a really nerve-racking process. I think i started with 17 prints on the first layer and in the end only 10 final prints turned out as I wanted them to 😅 But it was still a lot of fun doing it!

    Really liked your video? Very friendly presentation too. Just getting into reduction Lino printing! I was amazed at how you printed each “carving’ before moving onto the next one? So clever and I’ve never seen anyone else do that!! Made my day thanks.

      Thank you! I'm glad you found the video helpful 😊 Making multi-layered prints can be a lot of fun, but it's also a lot of work, which is why I don't do it as often as I'd like to. Nonetheless, it's a rewarding process!

    Hey Kathi, ich habe Dich zwar erst seit kurzem abonniert, aber bin von Deiner Videoqualität so beeindruckt und wundere mich ernsthaft, warum Du nicht viel viel mehr Abonnent*innen hast! Man merkt, wie viel Arbeit Du in die Videos und den Content steckt und nebenbei bemerkt machst Du auch einfach richtig coole Sachen. Nach dem Video habe ich mich direkt gefragt, ob man die Prints irgendwo kaufen kann oder ob dazu was in Planung ist? :D Ich hoffe sehr, dass Du weiter so tolle Videos machst und deine Kunst mit uns teilst und wünsche mir auch, dass mehr Menschen auf Deine Videos stoßen. Alles Gute und viele Grüße :) - Antonia

    Well done, what a beautiful print! Makes me want to try some multi-colired prints as well.✌️Do you see advandtages in this method vs using multiple linoblocks fir the different layers?

    • @Kathens
      @Kathens  2 года назад

      Hmm I think it's a bit more difficult to transfer the sketch on each linoblock exactly the same way, so each layer might look a bit shifted 😯But on the other hand it could be a nice way to reproduce multilayered prints, which it not possible with what I did in this video. It has its up and downsides I guess😁

    hi Kathen I really love this im currently doing alevel art for art noveau. How did you transfer your outline of the piece? you mentioned laser cut but could you explain x really lovely artwork defo subbing!

    • @Kathens
      @Kathens  Год назад +1

      Hey there :) Thank you! So its a bit hard to explain but I try: I'm using a laser printer and print my outlines on the back side of some sticker paper (Mine has no particular brand, I think every sticker paper would work. You peel the sticker side off and have to print the waxy side that is left). Then I use some Liquitex matte gel medium, mix it with some water and apply a thin layer on my linoboard and stick my printed outlines on top. After a day I can just remove the paper and it's perfectly transfered :).
      I showed this technique in one of my vlogs: ruclips.net/video/Q_dss_MHk1s/видео.html

    It look like it was going to be a good video and I may be able to watch it another time. This always bothers me and it seems to be a trend. Music in the background when you're speaking competes for attention. The music's too loud I mean it's not really really loud but I'm trying to listen to you and I'm hearing the music and it's distracting..
