  • In this video, I show how to use a jointer to create repeatable tapers on table legs. It might be intimidating at first, but it's easy to set up and doesn't require any special jigs.
The spherical feet are made from miniature chess boards that were glued together into a cube and then turned on a lathe. You can watch in more detail how I went about making these spherical chess board feet here: • Turning chess board sp...

    Nice work.
Never tried all four sides but pretty inspired to give it a go now I've seen these legs.

Used this process to make 28 inch legs with a twenty inch taper and it worked like a top. Can’t go much longer than that a the jointer bed was a restriction. Also the fourth side is a bit trick as you working with a tapered edge up against the fence just used the straight 8 inches as a guide not sure if it would have made a difference if I would have forced the taper up against the fence. Also did the whole line marking on the fence and then set up a stop Thanks for doing this video it was a big help

3:57 you could have made that step more accurate and repeatable by clamping a stop block to the fence. do step one on all 4 sides of all 4 legs, then remove the stop block and move on to step 2.

I would love to know where everyone get these yellow "Push Sticks" for lack of a better term. I have never found anything in our area
