Ariel Adams. Arrogant watch snob. Never forget many years ago when I just started getting into watches and posted a pic of my first automatic on his blog. It was a Victorinox diver. He replied that his blog caters to watches of a higher caliber. Obviously I removed myself from any social media of his thereafter. Now I have Omega’s, IWC’s and others but I’ll never forget that response.
great to see you back Blake! the classic Panda version of this in 39mm sits charmingly on the wrist, one of the best quartz chronos to wear and not worry about it
Thank you for the episode, there was great chemistry. I thoroughly enjoyed the discussion about changes observed in the watch industry. I find the conversation pertinent considering Hodinkee's latest shift in strategy.
Nice video. Glad you are enjoying your Rolex, Blake. My wife was kind enough to buy me a 16600 SD for my birthday in 2007. You know - back when you were actually allowed to buy watches from Rolex. My most worn watch. Great high-low option. I’ve even dived with it - turns out its quite waterproof 😉
The hobby seems to be going in the right direction. However, what is up with enthusiasts wanting 1 on one recreations of historic watches, why not have an evolution of it, that way, you can be rest assured that yours will remain its own thing. The new Seiko speed timer with the pogue bezel is a nod to the past and Seiko is intelligent for selling nostalgia rather than a model, great marketing decision, it will fill a void for sure.

Funny cause they now regularly chat about Victorinox on his podcast

Tony, you're an excellent host.
Happy to see Blake on the show.

Yes! Blake is awesome!
People forget Seiko did this colorway in the 80's with the amazing 7a28 Quartz chronograph.
I bought what some people call the Pogue only because I like the look. I had never heard of the Pogue before buying this watch.
