    Hi sir sa 40:35
    ito po ba ang bagong provision sa NSCP2015?
    Kasi po dati kasi is hndi na dinededuct ung strenghth ng concrete na nareplace or losses which is 0.85f'c sa C2.

      hi. it is not a code provision. it is a strength of materials based analysis. and also it was introduced none other than Macgregor, one of the authors of ACI 318 which is the basis of NSCP. It was done to correctly assess the concrete strength and rebar strength under tension and compression which is accepted by many practicioners. It may be called as an evolution of calculations just like principles that evolves and get better results and nearness to the probable value. Cheers.

    Tanong lng po ako halimbawa may pinapaanalyze po na beam and given po na mayroon bakal sa tension and compression side, dba po is ichecheck muna po natin kung singly or doubly, ano po ba ang dapat na gamitin na rho max, ang may 3/7 po ba or 3/8? Thank you po.

      yes i agree. by assessment of code depende sa interpretation mo if intentional tension controlled ba it should be using 3/8. or if basis mo yung code referral na atleast 0.004 then use 3/7. it depenmds on your intentional check if moments under factored state is not given with reference to load. if given yung moments then do not use the checks of rho and instead use the checks for moments as discussed in the video lecture and as shown in the sample problems solved in my video lecture discussion. cheers :)

      Kasi po most of the problem na naeencounter ko po is hindi nakalagay kung tension controlled ba dapat or strength based.

      @@thealustestica4145 if code is your main reference it can be set default at strain of tension with at least 0.004. Ask your peof if what is his predefaults on this matter

    Hi Sir. Curious lang po ako, may effect po ba kung yung As x 0.85fc' ay sa C1 ibabawas at di sa C2? salamat po.

      The analysis introduced in this video lecture was based on the concept of Macgregor, one of the authors of ACI 318 who formulated the basis and reference of our local design code NSCP. C1 represents concrete strength while C2 represent compressive rebar. It can be also possible to deduct the tensile rebar strength of steel to the compression concrete strength to asses the displaced concrete along the compression region. Try it and check if the answers will be closely near to each other. The reason behind of the deduction of strength to rebar instrad of concrete is to follow the main principle of modular ratio with respect to the conversion of stronger material into weaker since it is a composite design.

      depende kung anu ang assumption mo. may rho max na pang singly at rhomax na pang doubly. if nagassume ka ng rho max for singly, we understood na ang rho need not to be more than rho max since take a look at rho max as the potential limit ng beam to be as a singly, otherwise it would be a Doubly. then yung bagong rho max na macocompute for rho max should be now less than the previous rho since nagaadjust ng value si rho max dependent on state whether singly or doubly. dont forget rho bal is the main basis of limit how ever we put safety factor para di na natin antayin mapunta sa failure point kaya nagexist si rho max. review the state of being under, over, and balanced reinforcement as presented in this video :) Dont forget we need under reinforcement ( rho < rho bal ) where rho max = (k)*rhobal
