Buckingham is rally underrated as a guitarist. Nicks sounds like an angel at this age.

Sunflowers and your face fascinate me
You love only the tallest trees
I come running down the hill
    But you're fast
    You're the winner
    Long distance winner
Not unlike the blue white fire
You burn brightly in spite of yourself
I bring the water down to you
But you're too hot to touch
    You're too hot to touch
    Love somebody save their soul
Tie them to your heaven erase their hell
Love their lifestyle if you feel it
Don't try to change them you never will
Sunflowers and your face fascinate me
You go into the dusty pink day
I come a calling unto you
    But you run
    You're the winner
    Long distance winner
    Oh yeah, you're the winner
    Long distance winner, ah yeah
    Love somebody save their soul
Tie them to your heaven erase their hell
Love their lifestyle if you feel it
Don't try to change them you never will
Sunflowers and your face fascinate me
You love only the tallest trees
I come running down the hill
    But you're fast
    You're the winner
    Long distance winner
    Oh yeah, you're the winner
Long distance winner, ah ah yeah
You're the winner, ah ah yeah

I grew up in Phx (Stevie’s home), the local free form FM station, recognized its specialness and played 5 or 6 cuts from it often, that station was the most popular station 72-75. They rec’d lots of playtime and loyalty in Birmingham, AL too. Still have my copy of this exceptional LP.

I bought this album in 1975 at age 15 right when Buckingham and Nicks joined up with Fleetwood Mac and it has been a favorite ever since except my LP is hammered and the cassettes I made from the vinyl are also hammered and taped together so many times that they don't work in any player anymore. This is a true classic and anyone that hears it will agree. I read that there is a quality remaster from Japan for around $60 which is a fair price for this unbelievable, underrated gem which clearly helped kick life back into Fleetwood Mac who were searching for an identity and were fading fast before Buckingham and Nicks. I just ordered up the new release. Can't wait to hear the whole album again with bonus tracks!

This album was reviewed highly by the music critics. It wasn't a huge commercial success, due to the fact it wasn't widely played by the radio stations at the time. +Jenni Durham Yes, but it's funny how she is correctly assessing a quality in him already that will split them apart in the not too distant future: his "intensity," his drive, perhaps his temper that even he's admitted in interviews to having had. ("I bring you water, but you're too hot too touch.") And "if you love somebody, don't try to change them, you never will." Once again, Stevie has written one of her self-described prophetic songs!

A great song ...should've been a hit, but then deep cuts have always been the best.

We can never really know, but I believe if Polydor had given this album the push and promotion it deserved, radio stations would have followed suit and the public would have embraced this new duo on the scene and there never would have been a Rumours era Fleetwood Mac.
