Lindsey learned to play guitar listening to John Stewart ... decades later John Stewart learned to play electric guitar listening to Lindsey Buckingham... true story... Johnny Stew and Liddy Buck
Got dayummm son!! Louder... LOUDER!! Put your headphones on and crank it to 11...Lindsey is killing it!! Finger-style Travis picking is what gives Buckingham his distinct sound ... he don’t need no stinking pick. He’s a Guitar God!
I had got this LP in 74 I believe. Always looked for something off my blues/jazz habit. I was amazed when FM picked them up. I had been a FM fan since 68sh?
Can't understand why these kind of classic early releases are not reissued if not remastered While every piece of rubbish is constantly re hashed and reproducrd
I've yet to hear a song by Buckingham I haven't liked. Criminally underappreciated solo artist too; his solo albums equal if not surpass his work with the Mac.
It’s more “Motherless Children” by Clapton with the finger roll than it is Fleetwood Mac’s “Second Hand News”, which is a strum pattern. “Second Hand News” is undeniably Lindsey’s distinct style though, as is “That’s Enough for Me” and “Holiday Road”.
This was a great song on that lp. Buckingham is excellent vocally & on guitar. They should have done this one with Fleetwood Mac if they hadn't. This may have been the song that sealed the deal with Fleetwood. I would've hired them.
Baby, baby, don't treat me so bad I'm the best boy that you ever had You wanna leave now and find a new start It's gonna kill me if you break my heart Oh, don't you let me down again Oh, you're just bound to see the end Baby, baby, don't treat me this way I'm gonna make it again someday There's just one thing I'd like you to know I've got no more to lose if you go Oh, don't you let me down again Oh, you're just bound to see the end Ooh ooh Baby, baby, don't treat me so bad I'm the best boy that you ever had You wanna leave now and find a new start It's gonna kill me if you break my heart Oh, don't you let me down again Oh, you're just bound to see the end Yeah, yeah, yeah
It’s unfortunate Buckingham/Nicks the re-release never came to be. It has came close many times, however, Lindsey and Stevie could never agree on the “business” end as far as “terms.” According to Lindsey, Stevie is in possession of the master recordings in her music vaults at her home (preservation).
I remember some years ago, copying my LP to computer and then to CD... then, after, looking up the album online, and finding that it had STILL not been issued on CD!!! (What were they waiting for???)
It’s only Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks before they joined. This album is what made Fleetwood want Buckingham to join the band, he made the deal to include Stevie as well. As they originally only wanted Buckingham. This Album is freaking awesome!!
But.. This was Written and Recorded in 1973. From the Original Buckingham/ Nicks Album. Way Before they gave Fleetwood Mac the Pleasure of Their Talents.. It's ALL Lindsey Buckingham... Good call, tho..
I posted a nearly identical comment on Clapton's video; I wondered if slow hand had possibly heard this wonderful song as it was released a year prior to 'motherless children'. Glad to know I'm not the only one!
Yeah, just heard this song and had to come here, you beat me to it. Another thing is that Clapton's backup singers for his 1970s albums sound very similar to Nicks/Buckingham singing on their album.
@@lindseyh5356 Wrong. Only show Clapton played in 1973 was the Rainbow Concert in London (opening act was Average White Band). Buckingham Nicks did not open for Eric Clapton in 1973
Lindsey is so underrated as a guitarist...the man is genius
True, and Mick was obviously impressed. Fleetwood Mac has never known a bad guitarist!
But hes a jerk

Ahhh ... Gorgeous ! Lindsey and Stevie's voices were meant to go hand in hand ... Like peanut butter and jelly !

The world is still waiting for this to finally come out on DVD.
Uh don't you mean CD?
I bought the CD - bootlegged at Charlemagne Record Exchange in Birmingham.
I THINK it's the same store I bought the vinyl. I still have both.
Yes, CD

Sounds exactly like second hand news in the beginning. So cool!

I've got another favorite song now💘💘💘💘
Super track. Also nicely covered a yr. later by Richard Torrance. It rocks.

FM did perform this song in concert. There is great performance of it on the Fleetwood Mac Live album: ruclips.net/video/TvPPaNf0kjs/видео.html

Tim Roth I don't get why people are hung up on the dislikes lol..my theory is maybe they dislike the lack of a video and not the song

i think the first part of the song is like world turning
Thank you SO MUCH for putting all these songs on here, it's impossible to find them anywhere else online!
Great guitar work.
Very Second Hand News-ish. Even one of the lines in the song was similar
If not better
Great song.
Thanks for the upload.
Happy birthday Lindsey!
Man just listen to the guitar riff.
I just thought of what this reminds me of a little-motherless children by Eric Clapton--though that came out year after this
Sympathy for the devil
Destined Fleetwood Mac sound

I bet this song even influenced some of the greats.
It reminds me on sympathy for the devil of the rolling stones. I wonder which one was first.
Finally figured out how to play the opening riff :D
This sounds like second hand news

I'm so ditzy..I didn't know it was Fleetwood Mac..no wonder I fkin love the sound..rotflmfao

"motherless children" Eric Clapton?

I heard Motherless children first, but now I wonder. I was a motherless kid at the time and still too young to have heard this before 461

Buckingham Nicks opened for Eric Clapton sometime in 1973.
