I'd actually like to do that in LFM but I've only just done 3 LFM races so far and lack the SR :(
These cars are way more fun to drive than the GT3s. I'm surprised so many people are down on this DLC.
Sim racers gonna sim race, they created a simulator around GT3, the playerbase is largely made up of 'GT3 only' people. If wasn't for the Red Bull Ring literally nobody would have bought this DLC pack.
GT3 obsession is a bit too much these days. People don't want to drive other stuff because they don't want to be slow for a bit. I also notice this happening in Gran Turismo, BOP for non-GT3 classes hasn't been updated in a year
@@KepleroGT Oddly enough Gran Turismo don't really update their GT3 cars, as in they have yet to put the newer models like the 296 or Mustang.
I am with you these new GT2s are really fun to drive. I am also still loving LFM races in AC. But to everyone his own, I guess
GT4 cars are fun too, but they are not balanced(nowhere near the per track per car bop like GT3 has). SO, nobody plays them.
GT2 is only worse in this aspect.

To be fair everyone I've heard wanting more content has wanted more tracks not cars. Besides the only gt3 cars not in the game are the corvette and the new mustang. Both of which just made thier gt3 debut this past weekend at daytona.

personally, I love the new DLC. Track is great yes..but I am super happy with Gt2. They drive different, they provide more challenge and fun to drive. Really for me, its a 8 out of 10.
Nobody really cared about GT3 until pros got in the cars and expanded globally. GT2 is still very early stages
As someone who hasn't been interested in a single DLC other than the GT4 cars, I will now be racing these almost exclusively. I just don't enjoy GT3's excessively planted feeling, and I enjoy the GT2s moving around at lower speeds.
100% agree. They are great to drive. I could never find a server running gt4 which was a shame. Loved them.
I would much prefer a track pack, than 1 track and GT2.
There are so many cool courses they can add from Australia, Asia etc., that are part of the GT World Challenge but oddly missing from the game.
Personally i believe gt2 could be a better class than gt3.
More power, less aero (so less dirty air). This in theory means it needs more skill to be fast.
Stricter road car homologation (in fact the ktm and audi essentially have homologation special road cars) which makes the cars more interesting.
If gt2 had the same amount of teams and top drivers as gt3 it would be way better. Its just being left neglected as a gentlemans class imo
I really hope these cars survive in acc as they are so much more fun to drive than the boring gt3s
Honestly, i think the Cars are great, and the fact they can compete with GT3 cars to some degree, means that people will actually race them, ive been loving the fact you can compete with GT3 cars without the driving experience being the exact same, with the same manufacturers, and cars feeling similar to the last, I feel the RBR Is a great addition to the ever growing lists of tracks, so for me, as a non GT3 fanboy, i see immense value to this DLC, and in my opinion, one of the best DLC Releases they have done. :)
You can try to shower me by telling me im wrong, however My opinion is completely objective and as much as you may dislike that, its true!
That KTM is brilliant. I really like the way it drives.
GT 2 was not really made as a series for people to watch. It's for the drivers to have fun. And that's the reason I have hopes it will survive in ACC.
I've never used to take such a wide approach all accross the curbs at the corner approach, he does off almost completely off the track.
I agree with your point of view. I played GT4 for a day and then went back to GT3. I already know GT2 will be the same for myself. Thus, I haven't bought the DLC as I don't wanna pay that much money just for 1 track that will be used every now and then.
It's unfortunate, because every other DLC was an instant buy. I doubt I'll get this until it's at least 50% off.
So now ACC has a defunct racing class in their game that emulates a real life series. And AMS2 has an endurance pack where you can't do driver swaps.
No one knows what they want their racing game to be.

kind of rough how unpopular the gt4 category is. I very much feel like its the highest value DLC on paper, but the developers do nothing to actually put people behind the wheel of gt4s or any of the other categories. The only way to drive gt4 is to do league racing, where its an amazing experience.
When VR tech gets to be at human eye clarity level, all VR headset owners will be still interested in trying all the cars.
I hope TCR cars in the game cos SRO hosts TCR races so... Fingers crossed...
I love new cars personaly, it is shame that it will not be main stream or even more popular than GT4. But i still hope this class in acc will not die, cuz i want to be able to race with them
one more thing you need to keep in mind, since acc sells through steam, we get great regional price, for me I spent 10usd for this DLC, there is no Regional pricing for games like iracing due to with its insanely more expensive for me who lives in india.
I think GT2 will be far more popular than GT4. They’re fast and fun. It’s also really satisfying racing them in mixed class races against other GT3s
I think if the BoP of these cars is not too unbalanced it could be interesting for multiclass races, which is something ACC is not particularly good at at the moment, especially when you consider we are about to get the Nordschleife

I like that GT2 car feels very different to each other. Merc a bit loose and a lot of power, Maserati and KTM totally different, but still a lot of fun. I think that for that these are more fun to drive, for me at least. GT3`s all feel a bit same compared to these. I have about 1000 hours on ACC, but have not touch the sim in months, until these arrived. Now it seems that the spark is there again.
Simulated racing developers must have a headache to guess where to invest money: cars or tracks?
Struggling between laser scan costs, car license costs or tracks or championships !!!

Furthermore, ACC, as stated several times by Aris or Massarutto, is linked to the SRO championship.
Then there are the simracers, another variable to take into account!!!
I'll be waiting until a good sale, as I'm only after the track, so bring-on Nords' and we'll see what sells.

When do you think this DLC will hit the PS5? I would like to drive these cars. I thought the GT2 cars were faster than the GT3 cars.
I keep hearing how approachable these GT2 cars are for gentlemen drivers. They are more difficult to drive though so why this moniker?
It's not about the driving characteristics.
the DLC is the Red Bull Ring ... cars are just trailer fodder that will be dead in a month
So this might not be a particular popular series in real life currently, but if the cars are great to drive and race, they could (and should) still be big in simracing. I really hope simracers arent so rigid that only real life popularity defines the success in the sim...
To me atleast, there is a big difference between cars (and drivers etc) that I want to watch and cars that I want to drive.

I agree with that. I was hoping they would get the WEC deal but Lemans ultimate beat them to it. However Daytona and Petit Lemans would be epic for ACC level quality

Why does it feel like everyone is trying to tell me I shouldn’t like GT2?
You can drive GT2 and GT4 on LFM, so good enough to get some value out of it even if you prefer online-racing. But if you are a lemming, you need to drive GT3 only.
I have never seen a lfm race with more than 6 drivers in gt4. I hope it's just the hours I get on because I do truly enjoy the cars
@@10mmGR Just look at the numbers of recent races. That last one had 35 drivers and yesterday the one with the most participation had 60 drivers.
Well, I disagree with your conclusion, R.C. - you're not paying just for a track. Even if you only occasionally race the GT2 cars, then that's something. Also, GT fans like myself really appreciate having that much more choice of race/competition/car. [By the way, I never forgot about the GT4s. They're my favourites.]
I think if you already own the Lambo and Ferrari cup cars you dont pay full price for this DLC 👍🏼
GT2s are meant to be eccentric muscle cars. This class is not designed to compete with GT3s, they are more like a twist for people who want to have a break from GT3 and still have a fun challenge.
It is like when in some old Mario game you end the game and then you are allowed to play with Luigi.
Hopefully they will find its niche like the Porsche Cup cars. And now with 4 different classes Nordschleife is going to be awesome.

The new GT2 have more power but lower downforce, which was intended to be more bearable for the amateur/gentleman drivers due to the GT3 cars being pretty downforce-heavy as of now and they don't really want to drive the slower GT4s, so the class was made as a compromise. Give a GT3 car more power, even more than the current Le Mans hypercars or even the GTE cars, but strip them from the downforce, putting them to a GT4 level, and there, you have a GT2 car.
Maybe if they make GT2 a pro drivers class like what GT3 is now (which was what happened to GT3 after GT1 was shut down) we would see the big players flock.
Still wonder why they call it GT2, though. I was expecting GT2 to be SRO returning to use ACO's GTE cars as their top class.
I never cared much for the GT4's, but I am loving the GT2 Maserati and enjoy it more than my GT3 Ferrari 296.
GT2 is slower? I managed to shave 2 seconds off my best time in the 720s by using the Maserati granted I don't know this track very well but still.

Theres assetto corsa 2 also coming out this year no? So I dont know if its worth it to buy a dlc for acc, especially for gt2. red bull ring seems compelling though its such a fun track

I think this dlc is a bad idea for ACC. People play acc because it does gt3 racing very well. If you want to drive other kinds of cars, play different game. This should have been a AC DLC which has all kinds of cars and classes. How many racing games suck because they have so many types and classes of cars that they don't do any of them well.
They are far more fun to drive than GT3s.
This is the first ACC DLC that I haven't bought - there's nothing there for me given that the RBR isn't actually part of the SRO GT3 season, and that the GT2 cars are meh.

I'm not a "Let's buy every ACC DLC immediately!" guy, for example I bought the previous one with the Ferrari/Porsche/Lambo only during the most recent Steam winter sale. But i bought this one on day 1, i think i will never drive the GT2s, but the Red Bull Ring is a MUST, that track is awesome and worth every Euro. (And if you bought all the other DLCs before, then you don't have to pay 18 Euros, only 16, at least I paid 16... :) )

I don't get where Polyphony would have top tier track making? Tracks always looks out of proportion, I know that they used some kind of low grade laser scanning with not very much detail.
I don't even play ACC and I would not care buying the content at that price. How cheap do you have to be to complain about the price of this DLC seriously.

GT2 is slower then GT3... yeah you are right... and their have less Aero... so what?
The current GT2 cars have more mechanical grip, unlike GT3. So the driving is easier, especially for gentlemen divers.
SRO are idiots for making the GT classes confusing...
The GT classes are really straightforward. It's not any more complicated than WRC, WEC, etc.
They're not idiots. GT2 have important goals:
1. To allow more racing during the weekends, at a time when GT3 grids are basically full;
2. To prevent the possibility that GT3s, with their already very high reliance on aero, could become too hard for amateur drivers;
3. To act as a safety net. GT3 costs are already much higher that they used to be, and their adoption by WEC could lead to a manufacture war, increasing costs even more (as it happened with GTE), making privateers and small teams leave SRO championships. If that ever happens, SRO could focus on GT2.

I appreciate ACC for one reason. It keeps all those horrible drivers off the good sims.
This should just make it a subscription fee. So they can focus on making the physics more realistic than trying to chase the next dollar
