DP you may have spent a small fortune to fix Bubba Dump but because you could do your own mechanical work you saved a small fortune and you’re still in it for far less than a new one. Great work, great video. It’s always a pleasure to watch this channel. Matt is a big part of the company. I hope we get to see MBTS soon
Man I was so happy for you when it moved! I've done car jobs where you think you've done everything and are just at wits end. Glad to see you smiling when you took it out on the trails!
Great video, DP! I drove one of those trucks for about 3 years. Hauled coal in them. They bought them from Florida and they were wore out. They had to fix about anything that moved on them lol. They finally got them in pretty good shape. Made the company a lot of money for sure. Another thing they were hard to get stuck. Thanks for sharing!!
Thoroughly enjoyed being along for the journey DP. Your lucky having a great team around you. Teamwork makes the dream work 🤣🤣 Thanks for posting. 🇬🇧👍👍👍
Good to go for another 80k miles now and them lockers engaging are going to just make it even more fun to hammer down on the throttle !! Good job sir . 👍👍👍👍
As I watched this vid you can only appreciate how amazingly handy your overhead crane is to your whole operation! Brilliant that you had enough foresight to put it in when you built your shop!! Great vid keep em comin thank you sooo much great job!
There is plenty of life left in Bubba Dump!!!! Really enjoyed watching you all pull her apart and reassemble to full working order, I'm not much of a mechanic but you go out of your way to show and explain the processes to repair all your plant. Thankfully you found the cause of the non moving at the end, could see your delight at finding out it was a simple fuse !!! 😁 That pump from Amazonia was not quite up the thick viscous oil, I think you probably burnt the motor out 🤣🤦♂️
A man and his toys! What a great job you and Matt have done God bless and I hope both of your families had a great 4th of July. I really enjoy watching you repair your equipment.
A little dirt in my coffee this morning is always a good thing... A little Bubba Dump deja vu this morning. Loved seeing the test drive again, especially the testing the lockers and Bubba Dump passing with flying colors!! Hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July with family and friends. 😎👍
I love that you do this kind of videos and also share your thought process while you work, it helps me/us who have never worked on heavy equipment tremendously to see how everything is put together on different machines we might be thinking on getting and or working on ourselves. Also, your thinking and methods behind your madness when you build things, lol. Is very helpful so thank you for sharing all this with us. Oh yeah, almost forgot, you know you're buying that Hyundai HX210 right?! Hahaha.
You don’t get those type of smiles from off the shelf brand new purchases, achieve and succeed best feeling in the world, love the videos and love the diversity of your channel. Who needs to work when you can get paid to play 😇👍🏻 knowing your equipment that in-depth gives you confidence in it’s performance keep them coming 👍🏻
Mike when you say what am I trying to film at 15.50 time stamp your just showing us how goog of a job the silicone looks on the hub. Mike you have done one magnificent 👏 job on this truck especially with not having that manual and at least you know its done right this time well done to you and matt 👏 👍
awesome job, glad the moving was a simple fuse. function before pretty. been a long road for you with bubba but hopefully you get years of good service from your work
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Great to see Bubba leave the shop and cruising around on its own power. From all my years of RUclips watching the only thing I might have suggested is from the Turn Wright Machine Works channel. Before welding up a crack he recommends drilling a small hole at each end of the crack. I think the theory is by cutting away the end of the crack with a drill bit you stop the crack from any future progress. Hopefully that’s a step that’s not needed if you didn’t do it off camera. Looking forward to seeing more videos with Bubba at work. Wishing you and your family the best.
Nice repairs! And nothing better than after a big job having it all finally come together. That smile at the end - greatest feeling in the world. Congrats!
Suggestion/Tip for filling the hubs up on Bubba Dump or other such jobs . Remember, gravity is your friend, so to take advantage of it in a clean bucket of your favorite size such as one that the “Dinosaur Fart” aka gear oil came in and install bung with a barbed fitting as close to the bottom of the bucket as possible and attach a short section of hose to it then a valve to stop and or regulate the flow followed by another section of hose then fill the bucket with whatever fluid/oil you using and hang the bucket from you hoist, set it on a tire, ladder, etc and fill away. Personally I like larger hose before the valve and step is down after the valve as well as using clear tubing, lastly I also like a screen of some sort on the inlet of the bung inside the bucket. I use in tank electric fuel pumps that I get from a buddy who works at a Ford dealership. I use one as a transfer pump for fuel when draining fuel tanks etc, I have another one that I use with ATF, another one I use with oils of all types including gear oil that I have let the bottle/jug/bucket sit out in the sun for a good while to warm up. PS when installing new bearings instead of using a drift to drive home you might want to consider using the old bearing race you removed. If the bear/race is recessed like the one you just installed consider running the old race lightly on a sander or grinder to remove enough material so that your old race is no longer an interference fit. Lastly when welding up a crack like you did on that housing after you are finished welding on it wrap it in a blanket (preferably a flame retardant welding blanket) to allow/help it cool down slowly. Have a nice day and a better tomorrow.
Good video again I am so glad everything worked out it started moving again good job working on it you do not give up that is why you get things done my friend be safe
I have watched the whole series on fixing bubadump. You and Matt did an awesome job. No oil leaks, all the brakes work, diff locks work. What a relief. Well done crew. Bravo from Victoria Australia
A small suggestion for removing and installing tires on large equipment and dual truck tires. Jack up the tire. Place a piece of metal under the tire (we used flat tin roofing ). Put a little used oil on the tin. Let the tire down till it just touches the tin. Slide the tire off. We used to pull dual tires and the brake drum at the same time when doing brake jobs on dump trucks.
Hey Bill, that's basically what we did too, except we used grease and just rolled the whole thing out of the way and when we were done we would roll it back and use the grease mark to line it back up perfectly. No lifting required!
A nice series of videos of working on the truck Mike, I`ve found it really interesting to find out how all that braking, drive and axle locking all works, when it`s all done, the effort ,care and time you`ve put into it will make that truck serve you well for many years to come. Well done to you and also to Matt for his input.👍👍👍👍👍
It is SO awesome to see everything taken apart, inspected, cleaned, greased and put together carefully. I'm real proud of you guys!!! :) I did clench my toes when you dropped that brake pad in though, hope it didn't fracture the pad if that's even possible with these behemoth dimensions.
DP the smile on your face says it all koodo’s to you and Matt a big project for sure he’ll buba dump is smile climbing the hill proud congratulations 👍👋🇨🇦
I am glad that you have put bubba dump back in shape but I am disappointed that Lt Dan is still sitting under a tarp. I had hoped to see him working in the fleet by now
Once you put that fancy grill on BD you know the amount of people telling you to paint it is going to double. 😂 I’m happy you got everything sorted out. Great content! Kudos!!
Excelente' Right when it started up that hill a woodpecker went off on some metal outside and I thought WHOA! something just let loose big time. Happy for you.
Great job. Loved watching you guys tackle each problem and resolve them. Vicariously I think I get my therapy by watching you. LOL! Tells you a lot about my mental state. But I guess I'm in good company. Way to go Mike and Mr. Millennial.
I just knew you wouldn't be able to end the video with Bubba not moving. Great Job and glad it was something simple that caused the last issue. Keep smiling and use the heck out of Bubba Dump now!

Glad to see the Ole Girl crawling around.
Wonderful! I was hoping the fix was something simple! Lee
A small suggestion for removing and installing tires on large equipment and dual truck tires.
Jack up the tire.
Place a piece of metal under the tire (we used flat tin roofing ).
Put a little used oil on the tin.
Let the tire down till it just touches the tin.
Slide the tire off.
We used to pull dual tires and the brake drum at the same time when doing brake jobs on dump trucks.

nothing more satisfying , big job, big work, big money... and it all works !
