Derek is my absolute favourite show, had no idea David had such limited acting experience before it - not only was Kev crude and hilarious, but some of his monologues to camera were truly touching. "I'm not a failure because I didn't succeed, I'm a failure because I didn't try" is a brilliant quote.

He’s so shy and self critical he doesn’t put himself out there enough. An amazing character player, Brian gittins as his stand up persona and Kev in Derek are absolutely fantastic. And a lovely man.
The greatest outtakes EVER are delivered by this guy! And I mean every programme ever made. The Caravan scene always cheers me up. ( Diseased badger)

Brian and Kev were some of my favourite characters in Ricky Gervais’ work. David Earl deserves an Oscar for playing those two

He’s hilarious, and I want to thank him for the laughs, as Derek was amazing! I recently visited my family in England, as I live in Australia now, and my parents and I watched the entire thing. Truly wonderful. I love Ricky, and that goes without saying. I appreciate the heart warming moments, and the belly laughing. Merry Christmas 🎄
He was by far the best character in the show. So funny every time. Ricky has an amazing knack for spotting gold when he sees it.
Kev was the best part of Derek, i would love to see Kev get his own series with his brother and Dougie the Handyman lol

Ricky's character Derek was so endearing. He got a lot of stick for doing it but he should of been given an award! After all there are people like that in real life. It was brilliant. Made me laugh and cry

I honestly did not know Earle was not an actor. He's an amazing Talent.
That's the Brilliance of Gervais, he finds people Like Pilkington, Earle etc.
Kev was a brilliant character, Derek seen the good in him, despite all his faults. Brilliant writing and acting.
David's a wonderful actor. He's great in Derek and in Brian & Charles. Hilarious in After Life, too.

Dave E provides us with a great life lesson ‘Better to be looked over than overlooked’ when his creative juices got him making the monster clip which he then sent off on a recommendation leading him to Ricky G & Stephen M. Credit to them sensing his immense talent and then Ricky exploring more with Derek and Afterlife with brilliant characters and dialogue that Dave E not only brought to life but provided such a richness and depth to someone flawed but oh so real.
Given the opportunity Dave E could carry off a dramatic role with ease, the darker the better😎👌
Dave earls 'kev' is without a doubt, the BEST character ever thought up. The amount of times he's had me in stitches is unhealthy 😂 love derek its quality. Great podcast this

I was absolutely one of those that didn’t take to Kev as a character in the first few episodes, it just felt like he didn’t need to be there. And then I soon realised exactly why he was there. I was wrong. David played it perfectly and Derek is one of my all time favourite sitcoms.

David earle and Joe Wilkinson do a podcast called gossip mongers and it's one of the funniest things I've ever listened to. People write in about messed up things that have happened to them and these two read them out. I want it to blow up so they put more effort into episodes because its just absolute 🥇

Cumbo was the character that me and my friends were obsessed with at Uni in about 2012. It’s the closest to an everyday character that you can get to and in my opinion the funniest he has created.

David is definatly my favoritre comic/actors of the modern day, Gervais definaly helps bring out the best of him on screen, and his charaters from cumbo to gittins have certainly given me more than a few laughs, in fact so much so that I fell through a sky light whilst cleaning solar panels on the roof the other week and listening to he and David Edwards on their podcast "Random movie generator" I guess those are the risks!. Cheers for the clip, good on ya fellas.

Discovered David Earl through his Gittins spreaker show about 10 years ago, absolutely loved it, didn't know for ages that Gittins was a character, blew my mind when I found out.
Went to see Brian Gittins doing his live show about 5 years ago, still the funniest show I've ever seen, and I've seen hundreds of comedy shows.
The man is a comedy genius and I honestly don't think he knows it. Brian and Charles is effing hilarious. Crunch crunch etc... x
