Thank you very much for the thorough rundown on the gauges and switches!
Im a recent cdl-school graduate & they ever-so-briefly went over the gauges & switches (as in, maybe like 5-10minutes of the program was going over this).
Knock on wood, I'll be starting my first trucking-job by this time next week; From the looks of it, i'll be with a trainer for the first day then on my own after that. Im the type of person who learns better on my own vs having someone breathing down my neck or yelling instructions at me...YT-vids like this clip are a Godsend.

Super tutorial. The only vehicle that had more gauges than your Peterbilt was the Space Shuttle.

I have a question maybe somebody can answer. And new models are all these analog gauges hooked up to a CPU? Are they running off a computer instead of running on vacuum lines?

I don’t know what y’all been driving but usually every tach I’ve seen was redline 2,22k . Other than that thanks brother for showing me and others !

Do these analog gauges actually run digital from the computer is it a quick plug-and-play or do you have to run these lines down either electric pneumatic or vacuum

QUESTION. I BELIEVED THE PYROMETER WAS ONE OF A Sophisticated PIECE OF EQUIPMENT... HOWEVER....IT DOES NOT. DETECT AND OR EXTINGUISH A FIRE IN THIS PARTICULAR HEAVY USE EQUIPMENT: SEMIs...why? ANSUL FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM...

Pyromemter just measures the exhaust temperature so you can tell if you have incorrect air to fuel ratios.
