I'm glad you mentioned the Baptist church. I grew up in a conservative Baptist church and we were distrustful of other Baptist churches and communities because we feared that there may be differences in what our church taught compared to the other ones. Once I became a teenager and went to youth meetings and other events that were made of the larger Baptist community, I realized many of my church's fears were unfounded. I still remember the shock in our church when we had a visiting Southern Baptist family and when our pastor made a strong point in the sermon the husband loudly proclaimed AMEN. This wasn't acceptable. Only senior members of the church could do that, and it had to only be loud enough that people could hear it but no louder. Everyone looked at him in shock.

Hutterites reminds me of those timeshare schemes. Once you signed up with timeshare you are obligated to pay for repairs expenses, etc. even though the victim typically can not always book dates that they want to spend their themselves. I hear so much how there are so many legal landmines that victims have to manually maneuver to try to rid themselves of that terrible decision of buying timeshares.

I’ve seen videos on the Hutterites, and they have very little freedom. Even something simple like going to town, involves going to the colony leadership, with hat in hand and asking permission to use the colony van. If they are that controlling over such a simple matter, imagine how controlling they are over important spiritual matters!

Growing up on a large turkey farm, the Hutterites would PAY US so that they could clean out our barns with skid steers and haul away the manure. They used it to compost their dead hogs. They are quite technologically advanced. They had semis, loaders, tractors, cranes, even a CNC laser for cutting metal. They made us a few stainless shoe horns as a gift with it.

Eli, I have people asking me what is the difference between old order mennonites and new order Mennonite and the old order Amish and new order Amish. Is tell them the I am a new order Mennonite we can have electric and indoor bathroom and we can drive cars and we can have cell phone. My grandparents was old order mennonites my husband was raised up as a old order mennonites to her went to go live with his sister that married a new order Mennonite. My husband is form a old order Amish. Did you know that Amish don't like when a Amish married a Mennonite woman and Mennonites mens and Amish can become a Mennonite but a Mennonite can't become Amish. You may want to do a video on the different of being a Mennonite and Amish so people will know.

The Hutterites seem like being part of a large family. As someone with no family, I think I would like living with them. I'm not sure about the idea of their rules and would have to see their beliefs first, but the family style living would greatly appeal to me. It seems like they all watch out for and take care of each other.

To be quite honest, I hadn’t even considered the Hutterites when thinking of anabaptist denominations. I only knew about them from history books.
Their lifestyle reminds me a bit of what the kibbutzim in Israel looked like in the 1940s before they all modernised.
Given that Hutter was originally from German Tyrol, do the Hutterites have German-based language roots as well?

When i was on a custom harvest crew over 10 years ago from the very west central end of Minnesota we would see quite a few of Hutterites when we would come back off the harvest run (OK up to ND) for fall harvest and would see them quite a bit and my boss and the locals would joke about how they would pay outsiders to "introduce new genes" into the colony. whether that was true or not i never found out personaly. lmao

I watch her too and love her channel- the denomination she belongs to though, is by far the most progressive of the three Hutterite groups - where I live , in southern Alberta, surrounded by Hutterite colonies, they don’t go to school past age 15 , unlike Gisele’s colony where they get a high school diploma and can even pursue some post secondary education- also, it seems her church teaches salvation and a personal relationship with Jesus which is rare in some of the other groups

It is so interesting how so many religions splinter. I am an Episcopalian and we came out of Henry VIII breaking from the Pope and Catholicism over his personal desires to be divorced. More recently we have had divisions over staying more traditional in our services and over the treatment of homosexuality. Of course our religion is not also controlling every aspect of our life.

They had modern conveniences like power, electric appliances and the woomen had sewing machines. Only the leader was allowed a television and a radio. No one else was allowed to listen to a radio. Kinda hard now when they'd have cell phones and how can the leader police that.....modern society catches up eventually
