This has probably been the most-requested video topic so far. Obviously given all the different groups etc., you could go pretty in-depth on this, but I wanted to try to cover it in a nice tight overview. I had to generalize some, but tried to point out exceptions etc. Let me know what you think! Erik 👍

Very simple living people,seem to be "miminalists",meaning that they do not bog themselves down with liads of Commercial items. They have a great work ethic;prefer to create from scratch what they have for use, and, this is commendable. 😊👌✌
@@justforthesaints8536 As far as I know they do. They mainly differ (to "normal" Protestants) in their view/opinion about baptizing. They don't do infant baptizing but only faithfull/denominational baptizing. (Same as Mennonites.)
A very nice & interesting mennonite chanel is "Megan Fox unlocked". She's a Mennonite mom and has different content, from modest dressing, over cooking & decorating up to explaining her mennonite culture. She's very sweet, check her out. :)
Here in Missouri, I've occasionally hired a 15-year-old Amish boy to help me with clearing brush, digging, etc. I can tell you one thing -- Amish are HARD workers.

I stopped at a convenience store in Georgia. Folks who I'm certain were Mennonite also stopped. I found it oddly comforting to listen to a couple of those fellows discussing the merits between the cheese-stuffed and the polish sausages on the roller grill. Goes to show we're all more similar than different, and we ought to appreciate that more.

What town were you in? I used to live in a small town in Georgia and I believe some Mennonites had a church there. Never had a chance to talk to any of them.

I grew up in a Calvinist cult. I totally get what life is like growing up in oddly strict social settings.
@Hitler was a Comedian i literally think in retrospect, that in the main church I grew up in, I was one of the only people who believed in god. I wasn't exactly a problem member, but I had to confront the church over multiple false beliefs and in the end I realised going to church was bad for me. I much more enjoy my quiet life of my own, solo walk with god. I highly suggest getting a bible without verse numbers like an old JB Philips volume. It helps you memorize whole books of the bible, by not having reference points. So much scripture arguments, result in 2 lines of the bible vs some other 2 random lines, in this they often miss the context of the situation.

When I first moved to my current address in a rural town, I had no car, and I carried groceries home with a huge backpack. I was given a lift by a Mennonite woman in a pick-up truck and we had a wonderful chat. She also tried to find an address on her cellphone. I learned that in her community these were OK. Her folk, even the children, wear traditional clothing. Women and girls wear the simple dresses and bonnets. She, her husband and family run a farm and farm store. I like to drop in to buy sausages, jams, and produce and say hello.
BTW - I'd love to see a video about the Amish relationships with their horses. I also wonder if the Amish still use Clydesdales or other heavy horse breeds for plowing and harvests.
Hopefully they will be warned to not have a *TRACKING "Smart phones" ....OR, they are at high risk of: INVASION FR. MODERN DAY PIRATES. HAS ANYONE WARNED THEM!? If Not, is important to warn them that the Smart Phones ARE HUGE SECURITY RISK to their existance as currently is. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼✌
@@cherias.4069 Thanks so much for your concern! I warn everybody I know and love about those scammers out there. I don't own a smart phone, but I do urge people to be careful. Lately there are emails that say "Thanks for your subscription" or "This is an invoice". I just delete them (and then delete them forever from "trash", and urge everybody else to do the same.

Clydesdales are considered "show" horses in NE Indiana by most church districts. Most of the draft horses here are Begians, Percherons, or Half lingers. In eastern PA where my wife comes from, draft mules are commonly used, also.

I am a menonit from Paraguay. And yes, we have very difrent customs and also beliefs among "our" people. In my case, I belong to what you would call the modern menonites. A cousin of mine is the minister for infrasture and comunications of Paraguay. I know personaly varios menonites that have been in the senat of my country. My children all have a university degree, and I was my sons copilot for 7 years of race car rallying (definitly a bit faster then a buggy)

I was baptized by a Mennonite (of the Canadian Mennonite Brethren) and was member of the Evangelical Free Church he initiated in my county until I got married and moved. Does that make me a Mennonite? What is "a Mennonite"? I have purchased the "Fundamentbuch" but it's hard reading.
I'm an Okie from Moskokee, I ware hom skooled two.
My family runs the gamut from Old Order to somewhat modern. I remember visiting my Aunt in Canada. She was on the modern side but when we went out I always remember her grabbing a sweater to cover her arms, saying "let's not offend the Old Order." It's also been a good lesson in the multi-cultural place where I live.
It's kind of like the difference between old conservative and modern liberal Christians in the normal world
We are good friends with an Amish couple from Indiana. She was a schoolteacher and now helps him in his carpentry business. As they put it, they were not blessed with children. When they visit us they love to watch old television shows, like westerns and Andy Griffith. They bring their dvd player and listen to country music. While they don't drink at home they will enjoy our home brewed beer with us. They are very down to earth, have a close relationship with G-d, and are open to experiencing the world without allowing the world to change them. We met them when they came out to work on a friend's house. We invite them on camping trips and excursions and they stay with us for long visits while pitching in on our homestead. Susan thinks my kitchen gadgets are cute but unnecessary. I told her, don't mess with my gadgets!

My mom’s family is holdeman mennonite and I very much agree with everything you said. We are close and respect each other’s different ways of life
I grew up in Melbourne Australia. I now live in Montgomery Texas. Until 3 years ago I never knew Hutterites existed or even much about Amish. I was
happy to visit a Heritage weekend market in Waco and started learning more. It’s so interesting to learn the history going back to Central Europe. My ancestors left Prussia and settled in South Australia due to religious persecution… around 1850.

I am descended from Pennsylvania Dutch. Which are actually German. My mom canned, did laundry, with a ringer washer, and stored canned goods in the basement. We also had a family room, my father built. I found many of these things common in our house, in Illinois. We weren't Amish, but the living tradition lived in my home.
My understanding is that the Pennsylvanian Dutch were so named by the English speakers who interpreted the word "Deutsch" (pronounced "doytch") meaning German, as being "Dutch" (Netherlanders)
The deeper society sinks in parallel with the snowballing of technology the wiser these groups seem.
I grew up in a Mennonite home and town in Canada ... there are different 'levels' of groups -- some are very strict to the point where at church the men would sit on one side of the church and the ladies on the other side ... in my home, we were brought up with much love from the parents ... my parents dressed however they chose to, not conservative ... my mother was a wonderful school teacher and my father was head of a warehouse for school supplies ...
I went to University of Waterloo for my undergrad degree... Also enjoyed the St Jacob's farmers market just north of Waterloo, plenty of Mennonite produces to choose from...

Orthodox Christians are very quaint....went to a Greek Orthodox Church on an Island called Volos and was stared at till I realised there was segregation of men and women
Good analysis of the two groups. I grew up in the Mennonite church, my parents weren’t Mennonite, but its where my Mom took me as a child. When I made my confession of faith, I became a part of that congregation. At that time, mid 70’s, about half the men wore the plain coat and the women wore the cape dress. The other half just wore regular clothes, but the men didn’t wear ties and no one wore jewelry. Now if you were to go into that church, the congregation would look just like any congregation in a Methodist church or any Protestant church. I visit occasionally and am still warmly welcomed, even though I’m part of a nondenominational church now. I still hold to many of those values I was taught as a child.
We also have Old Order Mennonites in one of the communities in my area, the Shenandoah Valley.

Mennonites were among the very first non-native settlers to cross the border into the Niagara Peninsula after the American Revolution. I recall that sometime in the 1980's the two hundredth anniversary of Mennonites in Niagara was celebrated. I've known a few people who are descendants of that group.
my mother's family is from that area but they only got there in the 1920s after they got kicked out of ukraine and russia
I live in Northern Ontario Canada and we have a large community of Amish and Mennonites close by. I love their sales fares where they sell all kinds of goodies. Home made bread, canned goods, pickled everything, quilts, you name it. They are awesome people but pretty darn shy. They don't talk much to the outsiders.

I'm from Ontario as well. Most are well aware of the communities in Kitchener-Waterloo.
I didn't know there was a big community other than there. Which city in the north is it close to? Their food is amazing. I have a great cookbook by a lady who was great friends of the community in K-W. "Food That Schmecks"

Wow--I didn't realize how many different Mennonite groups there were, esp the ones located in Mexico! As I was watching this, I suddenly remembered I bought a book a few years ago but never read it while visiting the Bird-in-Hand area; I'm going to have to actually read the book now! Nice job of sketching the wide range of styles in the Mennonite world. I grew up Mennonite in the midst of the large Amish community near Shipshewana, IN. I get back there now and then and am amazed at how much Amish life is changing. For one thing they have become very prosperous and that is changing lifestyles and attitudes. There are also a lot of very entrepeneurial young Amish. The home place I grew up on is now owned by a young Amish man who has a thriving solar business. Every Amish homestead has at least 1 or 2 solar panels that they use primarily to power a heavily insulated freezer. All you need is a solar panel and a bank of 12 volt batteries and you've got frozen food! I'm also amazed at how widely Amish communities have spread around the country. Last week I discovered an Amish community in Elkton, KY when I delivered some farm implements to an Amish owned business there.
In Elkton, KY there is four groups of horse and buggy people. There’s the Amish and then the rest are Mennonites. Wenger Mennonite , 35s and Mid -West connection which recently split off from the Wengers.

Decades ago, while in high school I worked part-time in a hospital cafeteria. The hospital had a nursing program. I noticed one student wore a gauze cap, being curious, I asked one of the students why, and was told she was Mennonite. Years later my delivery territory would take me to Kouts, Indiana, south of Valparaiso, which had a Mennonite church. Whenever I passed it, I always thought of that student, 60 years ago. The Hospital was West Suburban, Oak Park, Illinois.

Good job and sharing the cultural aspects from both groups.
In the early 90's I attended the University of Waterloo, known as one of the top "tech universities" in Canada. It was only a 10 minute drive from the St. Jacob's Farmer's Market. St. Jacobs and the surrounding counties were known for its large Mennonite populations. It was an interesting dichotomy to see graduate and PhD students talking and buying goods from Mennonites early on a Saturday morning (great food, always fresh, free from preservatives, etc.), only to see them again later in laboratories doing some of the fundamental developments in mathematics, electronics, computer science and more at the time.
I live in Owen Sound not far from where you were. I attended college in Kitchener and on my way home on weekends we would stop at a "convenience store" run by a nice Mennonite family :) they had the greatest pepperoni sticks you could find anywhere. And they were cheap too. Occasionally we see them in town buying stuff, and they are always polite :) I really wish I had some friends from that community :) I would love to live their lifestyle for awhile, and see a barn raising. I wouldn't actually do anything because I'm a lazy A^& person :P but I could supervise while holding my Timmies coffee :)

From what I remember they had a lot of interesting stuff :) I can never remember where that convenience store was (I wasn't driving) When leving Kitchener I remember Picard's Peanuts on the left of the intersection, and we turned right and went a few miles. I'm not sure if we made turns or what, but we would always stop there :) It was in a very small settlement from what I remember. Not in Mennonite territory. **sigh** Twas a good pepperoni stick :P. It's like a legend the way I tell the tale to my friends. The Legend of the Best Pepperoni in the world may, or may not have happened. I am no longer sure as my memory ebbs and flows in and out of clarity :) :P

I used to work with a Dude who was a Mennonite, he claimed there was a bit of a rivalry between Amish and Mennonites. I asked him if it was like The Bloods vs. The Crips but that seemed a bit over his head.

Within 20 miles of my house, I have old and new Amish, Beachy, old sect and modern Mennonites, along with Hutterites. MCC has their relief sale here at the Kansas State Fairgrounds every year. It's a great place to live. Good neighbors all around.
The town I went to high school (Buhler, KS - about 10 miles NE of Hutchinson) had 3 churches - they were all Mennonite - they were all slightly different... but it was referred to as the North Church, Middle Church, and South Church - to figure out which church you were talking about!
I live in west Texas and my town has a very large Mennonite community. Many of them are from Canada and Mexico originally. They range from very progressive groups to Old Colony Mennonites. To my knowledge the Old Colony groups here do not use horse and buggies for transportation, but they do use limited technology, if any at all. This was interesting. TFS.

Marry becomes the medium to connect the Angels or (an) Angel as the binding or bonding of man and woman to manipulate the DNA of a child to get to the closest results if ( Host or embodiment ) to Control, cause they don't always get what they want cause the authority doesn't belong to the Angels!

Give your authority that God granted / gave / Authorized/ provide/ allowed/ to you to be born to be in Authority / live with the Image of the authority of God! It's your choice Humanity God or The Angels or live your life to the fullest and let God judge you when you pass on cause remember you are not supposed to actually die?
I’m a Mennonite from oklahoma and I have a bunch of family in seminole texas! I grew the same as any other American with cars and all the technology with no restrictions. It’s cool seeing how different some mennonites are from others!!
@@user-nm9kn3zs6s I live in Seminole. I think the majority of the Mennonites here are just like anyone else. The exception being certain restrictions on a few of the old Colony groups. I know of one lady whose family doesn't own a TV, computer, etc. She and her daughters wear head coverings and always dresses and skirts and blouses, no pants. Love that you shared here.
Seminole has been a real challenge for the faith. I came here in 1983 as the bust was bottoming out. Comanche Trails and east if town was ghettos. Things have changed. Mennonites joining the military and becoming police officers.
They are good people and are dedicated friends.

I used to live in Wisconsin. There were Amish groups all over the place. They were always the nicest people. They would do open air markets so you can buy their food which is just outstanding. Their carpentry and woodworking skills are next to none. They are a very hard working people. There was the occasional Amish hate crime. A couple of awful people would beat them up on the side of a road or kidnap their children. In the winter time, believe it or not they would play hockey on the frozen lakes and waterways. They are pretty good as well.
You were in a great state for Amish in Wisconsin there. Unfortunately the Amish as a group have been a target for those types of even violent crimes you mention, from time to time. There is a decent amount of bigotry out there against them. There are also different Amish groups which can be more or less engaged with the non-Amish. That engagement and also things like how conservative they are can affect people's attitudes towards them. But on the whole I think they are positively viewed.
@@AmishAmerica You are very correct. People seem to think being Amish is some kind of disease to make fun of or physically assault. They really aren't all that different then anyone else. It's just they choose to follow a path that others don't understand and the Amish have been in America a lot longer than most of these idiot hillbillies who try to pick on them. I had found that an Amish woman will make her wedding dress. After words she packs it away. When she dies, they community dresses her in that dress. I have always wanted an Amish quilt. Those quilts are amazing. Unfortunately they can get real expensive and it does take time to get one made. I forgot to say, they teach their children German before they teach them English
My sister lives in Northern Wisconsin and when I visit, we go to some Amish stores and they have nice stuff

Shawano County in Northeast Wisconsin has a very large Amish population. There stores (Yoder Bakery) are filled with the best and healthiest foods. Well, my wife and I are partial to the Pecan Pie. Uh, maybe sugar is their one vice!

We have both where I live in Indiana. They have a Mennonite college in Goshen and a church in Topeka. I also have seen the Amish buggies. This was a very interesting video about a topic that I was wondering about.

Thank you for this video. I grew up in York County, PA, across the Susquehanna River from Lancaster County. Every time I would venture across the river or shop at our local farmers markets, I was well aware of the two cultures but never really understood the differences. Only that the Mennonites were a little more progressive. I'm really not familiar with your series, but living now in Florida, I know that there's a rather large Amish retirement community in Sarasota. I think your followers would be interested in a video about that. Who knew that some Amish actually retire. Especially to Florida!

From what I've heard, and I could be wrong, Mennonite people tend to believe in the assurance of the knowledge of salvation while here on Earth, but the Amish do not.

Working through my family history. I have discovered many Mennonites in my family tree. I have found some buried in Mennonites church yards. Many came over from Switzerland and England.
I'm a old colony mennonite but I guess you could call it a new old colony mennonite church. I live in kansas and our community looks quite different from the old colony mennonites in Mexico. I grew up in Mexico and my parents moved to the USA in 2013, when I was 13 years old, so I know exactly what the old colony mennonites are like. Some pretty big differences from Mexico to here in kansas. I grew up with amish teachers in Mexico, and they were extremely strict and made my school years very dull. We were never allowed to color or draw or read stories, except on fridays for 30min. You would get in trouble for smiling at a boy because that was flirting..

There is a Mennonite hospital system in Puerto Rico with 12 hospitals/clinics/ER’s mostly in Central and Eastern part of the island. It was started, from what I’ve read, in 1944 by a group of Mennonite missionaries who came to the island to minister to what was still definitely a depressed economy. I’ve only seen a few Mennonites in what would be considered traditional garb in PR, and I’ve never seen anyone using horse drawn buggies there. Interesting videos.
Isn't the application of Meidung the most significant difference between the Amish and the conservative Mennonites? If somebody is banned by a Mennonite congregation, it means they can't attend church functions but they can still meet and interact with other church members. But a banned Amish member is shunned entirely and can't even sit at the dinner table with members of their own family.

We have Amish to the east of us a couple of miles that only use hand tools, and Amish to the north of use that use electric tools - as long as it is charged with a generator (or they don't know how it was charged). One group made the tin for our new post frame building, and the other installed it. The installers used all hand tools. it was a pretty awesome sight.

I worked side by side for several years with a number of Mennonites from Mexico who came back to Canada to live and work. They were from a settlement of Mennonites from Manitoba who had gone to Mexico in the 1920's after being offered land. Most have moved on now but one is still here. He's pretty much lapsed though. At least one still had hereditary Canadian citizenship.

My 10th Great Grandfather, Hans 'The Martyr' Landis, was an Anabaptist / Täufer (Baptist). To make him stop re-baptizing adults that the Protestant Church had baptized as infants, the Protestant Church beheaded him September 30, 1614, in Zürich, Switzerland. Most of his followers then went with Menno Simons. All my ancestors that migrated to America were Mennonite Ministers. --- I live in Northern California and most my neighbors are Mennonite.
We also have German Baptists near Covington, OH. One group is horse and buggy and one group drives cars. The churches are across the road from each other. My grandparents were part of this group.
I believe I've been to several homes in that community maybe 15 years ago. It struck me how much the men's appearance resembled the Amish

I really appreciate your videos. I learned the Mennonites span from Anabaptist. Half of my family are the Joder/Yoder's. My 8th great was my immigrate. His family was slaughtered by the Anabaptists in Switzerland. He fled to Germany. There his nephews Hans and Jost Joder brought him to America in 1751. Not trying to may any group look bad or complain. Father has a plan for the good in everything. May the Father bless you all.
I attended Grove City College in northwestern Pennsylvania in the mid 1960's. There were what were called the 'black bumper Amish' in the area. They drove cars with the chrome painted black so as to not appear ostentatious.
Grove City is a nice college. It's beginning to get more developed up there now. Not all farmland like it was in the 1960's. Malls and hotels up in Grove City now.
I grew up near Holmes County and with a heavy Amish & Mennonite community. I actually had a Mennonite teacher in school!
Near where I live there once was another group (1805 -1815.) Known as the Rappites or Harmonists. They formed the Harmonist Society.
Johan Georg Rapp was a German-born American ascetic who founded them. The town is known as Harmony.
There is a cemetery for 100 members of the group. They did not mark their graves either.
The cemetery was walled in around 1869 by a group of Mennonites.
There is another group i habe heard of called the Hutterites.
The Rappites of New Harmony Indiana ceased to exist because their religion forbid them to reproduce as sex was forbidden.
My mom's first language was Plautdietsch and grew up in a Holdeman Mennonite community in Kansas. She gets really angry when she sees photos of Mennonites because it isn't permitted there. You seem like a person who would ask permission before taking pictures :) They take "no graven images" very seriously. :)
No graven images AND worship them ....these people live accoring to partial Bible texts. They bind themselves with religious laws and sadly oppose God's Spirit in doing so.

We have both Amish and Mennonites where I live in Ohio. You have to go out in the country to see horse and buggies because the Amish have people drive them into town to shop and the Mennonites drive.
I live in north mississippi my house took a direct hit from a EF 4 Dec 2015 the Amish came from Pennsylvania and helped me rebuild i worked with them fellowshipped with them they are some of the finest and hardest working people i have ever met also not one ounce of help from Fema or Red Cross but then that's our government Thank God for the true help and work also they took not a penny of pay

This sounds right to me. I had a roommate once who was Mennonite and she seemed like just any other modern American. I didn’t notice any differences in how she did things than anyone else. But yeah I’ve heard of more strict communities too.

4:30- I heard on another documentary that Amish services last up to four hours without a break followed by dinner on the grounds of whom ever was hosting the service in their barn.
The elders are chosen by the people and the entire service is in Dutch.
The most conservative churches - eg Swartzentruber Amish - have services of that length, but most Amish have about a 3-hour service. There is a simple fellowship meal following the service. Pennsylvania Dutch is the first language of most Amish though it is in fact a German language ( a bit confusingly some will call it "Dutch" for short)

It’s very interesting that despite being religious groups this documentary only touched on cultural differences/similarities rather than theological differences/similarities but then that might require more detail.
I knew a Mennonite community in central Michigan in the 70s. My parents retired to the area when I was in my last year of high school. I worked in a sawmill pallet factory owned by one of their families and got to know a few of them. Very friendly people, allways cheerful. They all drove cars, had electricity in their homes, used machinery etc. Listening to radio or watching tv was not allowed.
They had telephones too!!!!!
The simplest way of defining a Mennonite from Amish was told to me by a Mennonight once that depending on which variety of the Mennonight they can be basically considered the diet Coke version of Amish! 🤠👍
Living in South florida, we had a horse track that drew sulkies. That's the little cart behind the horse and the driver sits in the cart. From time to time, I would see the Mennonites at the race course because they wanted the horses that could pull wagons or carriages because they were used to it. I'm sure they were shrewd negotiators.
(I'm a gardener. They have a huge seed collection for farming. Maybe do a piece about that. It's the heirloom varieties everybody wants.)
There is a VERY small Amish/Mennonite community in Central FL, where I grew up. On rare occasion I'd see Plain people at stores, etc. There also used to be an Amish store/restaurant near me that I loved. I also read Amish themed Christian novels by Beverly Lewis as a teenager. I've always been interested in the culture and I love your videos.

I saw a group of early 20-something Mennonite girls refinishing the side of a house. It was insane the work ethic they had.
It was so weird to see that, and all of them were in the traditional dresses and bonnets, but with colors add sneakers, and they used power tools.
It was definitely an interesting experience.
Yeah, as compared to the average American girl who thinks power tools are a smart phone, a maxed-out credit card, and a curling iron. But they have an insane work ethic too - at avoiding work that is!

God is not Christian. He is. I am that I am. No religion at all in Heaven.
What the commentator means without explicitly starting so is that in the conception of heaven as envisioned by those who have taken on the beliefs of Christianity, there is no one in heaven but Christians. It's simply a definitional statement about that person's Christian belief structure, not the final word on what heaven might be. It's exclusionary by definition, not by who or who won't go to heaven, if in fact such a place even exists.

My father’s family are Dunkards which is similar to Mennonite and Amish. For example they use “Modern” farm equipment such as tractors but they only use like metal tires. They can’t have rubber on the tires. Similar to the Amish buggy’s wheels. Both sides of my family is very heavily Pennsylvania Dutch. My father is able to speak to some of the Amish we have near us. “South Central Pennsylvania”. We have a cabin on the New York/PA border and there’s a small Amish Community there which we’ve become friends with. Very lovely people they are!
I lived in Harrisonburg, Virginia. There is a Mennonite university there. They wear regular clothing. Then there are women that wear prayer coverings. I thought they looked like white upside-down baskets.These folks rode bicycles a lot. Then the old order would drive the black buggies and dress all in black. Very nice people,hard workers and big eaters although you rarely saw an over weight person.
I know these groups strive for plainness to avoid vanity, but having finally met some of these people, I now wonder if the obsession with plainness is a form of vanity in itself.
Yes there can be a one-upmanship in that sense with some people. Almost a pride in plainness. Amish are aware of that danger, at least some of them are. Lot of different Amish groups but I'd say most are pretty even-keeled about it though, and don't lean on plainness as a source of feeling superior (meaning over English or other Amish). But humans are human.
@@AmishAmerica That was well put. It was some Mennonites that I had the chance to meet. Still have yet to meet the Amish. I still highly admire their lifestyle, but having been raised in a cult, I suspect I'd probably be disappointed if I lived amongst them. I'm sure there's really awesome individuals amongst them though. Really appreciate all your videos on this topic. Always been really interested in the Amish.

Very cool video! I Just learned about my families Mennonite roots this week while doing some ancestry research for my mom. All she knew was that her Grandparents and mother spoke some form of German and the family immigrated from Russia in the 1920's to Canada where they all adopted modern westernized lifestyles after spending their entire lives in colonies for centuries for a new life of liquor and sin.. And when I say that I mean you know fancy clothes, cars, cigarettes, television, etc.
Ironic that I've always been drawn to plain clothing myself and that for a time when I let my beard grow local Hutterites and Mennonites I'd meet in the grocery store thought I was one of them.. I guess to some degree I am..
we knew a Mennonite couple who were interior decorators, and very good decorators, too!
