- After trying so many exhaust setups, we finally found the perfect E92 M3 V8 sound, high pitch F1 exhaust note with no rasp or drone noise. I made a custom double forward x-pipe with catless test pipes, two resonators, and EBay valvetronic mufflers. Paired with my custom velocity stacks, the combination of induction noise and S65 exhaust sound really sing together in perfect harmony.

This is the best E9X M3 I've ever heard, hands down. Do you think there's a possibility this sound and pitch can be some-what achieved with stock main cats > two X-pipes (secondary cat and reso delete) > stock mufflers? My reasoning is I'm pretty sensitive to exhaust gasses (I tried to do a catless setup and had to revert back) and the main catalytics do a great job of keeping this in check.

OEM headers are already equal length and very well designed, there isn’t really anymore sound to be maxed there and really the only upgrade from doing headers is a proper collector

I describe that 3000 RPM range as beans rattling in a can. That’s how my X6M decatted stage 2 sounded. Your car sounds amazing especially in that low 3000 RPM range. This might be a longshot, but would you have any recommendations on eliminating that low end drone/beans in a can? I’ve had a X6M competition for a year and a half now and I’m avoiding doing any exhaust exhaust set up because everything so far has still had that rasp. I know they will have different pitches cause of engine models but it’s how you focused on that low end garbage sound which is exactly what I’m looking for! Thanks bro.
Sounds like you could use an extra resonator in the mid pipe somewhere to reduce the rasp. Good luck 👍
I have a X5M, I got rid of the muffler, it was tinny sounding. The cold start is a bit obnoxiously loud after, but everywhere else is still refined for what it is with the turbos. Its much heavier and nicer sounding then stock at idle under 2k rpm.
so you'll just need a x pipe and resonator to get your 'V8' sound back instead of the deep twin I4s we have at higher rpm; I call it the helicopter sound. With these x pipes though, it makes it clear what is the better sound

Does it make a difference if the x pipe is forward or after the resonator?
Big difference in location, more forward is higher pitch tone and after resonator has deeper tone

rip i was hoping i could just go buy this lol. idk if you have experience with manye xhausts and could point to your favorite stock one. Kinda been looking at the valvetronic V2 which i heard is the same as bomiz for 3k less and wttm3's bomiz is the best thing ive ever heard pretty much. I just really can't be fked to cut things up and stitch stuff together just to dial the sound in perfectly. I dont have the equipment, friends, or money to pay for that.

As soon as put an x pipe that was pushed forward like that on, I had bucking and hesitating issues. Even with a stage 2 tune… :(. Don’t know how to fix it. What tune do you have?
You’ll need a special tune to fix the hesitation. Any tuner can do it if you ask. I use BPM sport.

Did the same setup besides the resonator and muffler, but I’m getting raspiness around 2-3k. Stock muffler and resonator still on. Any ideas to what resonator I should get to get the same sound as you?
I have the resonators I bought linked in the description. 12 inch length. My cheap valved mufflers also reduce the raspiness for a nice smooth sound. Stock muffler tends to rasp.
It takes me to an eBay link of a catless x-pipe, not a resonator. Would you recommend the eBay mufflers?

Been begging for a less muscle car sounding E9X M3? Any other setups you know of which moves away from the Mustang-y sound to something closer to a Ferrari?
No other setup has that kind of sound except for what I have linked in the description. Corsa rear mufflers can help. Good luck 👍

This is tame compared to my setup, if you want even more of an F1 sound here is the secret:
Take a bimmerworld X-Pipe that has the "X" moved upwards like the Valvetronic V2, with two resonators attached, or you can choose to not have it (like i have it) and then let that go back to a meisterchaft super gt ultimate, the muffler itself has an X-pipe. That's double X-pipe with even better sound.
Would love to hear a video of your setup. Sounds great on paper.
