I straight piped my e92 m3 but with dual resonators and I thought it was way too loud. I noticed the power gain immediately, but I couldn't enjoy the sound of exhaust because it was a screaming banshee after 5k RPM. Took off the dual resonated mid pipe and put back on the stock mid pipe, and now it sounds perfect. Imo, a screaming exhaust gets old quick lol, but the welding looking beautiful though!
Yeah, very odd. Sounded mint and very specific before. Now it's a bustle of noise. It's that 11pm Mustang shitbox noise you hear down the road trying to sleep lol
It’s sounds utterly gash. Just because it’s loud, doesn’t mean it actually sounds good. It’s lost the distinct note that E92’s have. Definitely taken too far.
Ciao from Western Australia. Loved the sound of the older system but it’s all personal. I have owed 3 e90 en e92 M3. Supercharged etc. tried a bunch of different exhausts inc a full meistershaft system. Honestly for me the best was stock mid section , catless test pipes Remus race mufflers. Cheers.
it sounds like any old shit ricer car now. The beautiful and unique deep note has gone. It sounds like a fucking awful screech. I bet he gets rid of it soon.
Agree. I think it may have been too loud for the audio equipment for fully capture. I've literally never heard a V8 with a straight pipe that didn't sound good. Good work Luke, don't listen to the haters
Nice welds, but nothing else nice about it, tips are too big and still needs a pair of resonaters especially with the cats being removed as it sounds shockingly shite
I’m certainly getting old stock sounded nicest to me 🙈 valves closed tbf is probably better than stock inside the car which is where you the owner spends the time lol 😆
Lmfao what's wrong with a car from a council estate going for donuts? Modding cars ain't just for rich kids that got money to blow posing and pressing the exhilarater peddle
@@thewho9112 yes exhilarater peddle, as the sheer excitement most people get out of pressing their foot down on the accelerator peddle far outweighs their capability of using the accelerator peddle for its intended purpose lol

With the valves open, you have every chance of exceeding the speed limit. As good as it sounds, you almost can't stop yourself from pressing the accelerator
Got a hard wired button next to my headlight switch for mine, don’t like that key ring thing you got. Also don’t your valves open automatically when you get up in the good revs? They should I think, mine do.
Hi Luke, got myself an e92 M3. I have the valved system however not catless. The sound is amazing with valves open. I got them most of the time after warming up open. Do you experience any ‘drone’ in your exhaust system in the cabin?
I wasn’t 100% sure about the new sound when it was being revved prior to taking the car out. I thought it’d lost some of the S65 tone, but then when you started driving it and started going through gears I realised that S65 tone was still there but multiplied, a LOT 🤣 Sounds awesome man, I’d love to hear this in the flesh!
Sounds better OEM, nothing personal at all but between the wrap on the m140 and this exhaust... when you get an idea, give it serious thought before pulling out the wallet.. perhaps its me thats out of touch.
Welding is super impressive 👏 but the car now sounds like a C63 AMG .. which is kinda sad When it's an E92 M3 😕 Used to like the content when it was Modding Golf R's to the degree you'd expect hot hatches to be modified (each to their own of course) but now taking arguably the best Last made NA V8s and boy racer-ing it really takes the True M power status away from it, keep it tidy Maintain it, OEM + it and drive it how its meant to be driven ..but all this leary exhaust faff is small d*ck energy. Let the V8 speak for itself.
Saw this beast in action on the M3 today. Proper Asbo….in a good way! Cheers for making my kids day with the downshifts Luke (Golf R estate lapis blue driver)
The after sounds a bit brash it does, the welds are a brilliant work of art init. Perhaps the before mix and the after would have been a ideal situation, cheers!
Cant beat high reving V8s I've got a JHM exhuast on my RS4 B8 and tbh it sounds better with the valves closed which open as you go up the revs. Really makes these era cars sing
@@taemzaa247 How old are you? Are you aware there's more to an exhaust then volume. There's tone, rasp, deepness, drone etc. This has turned a smooth rumbly but screaming V8 into a raspy droney shitter. No one said the car should be silent. Just slightly quieter and less droney also should go back to the stock tone but just amplify it.
That little laugh came out again Luke so I can see you're enjoying it 😂 Sounds superb! I'm surprised at some of the negative comments, I can only imagine it was possibly a little too loud for your audio equipment to fully capture the tone. Out of interest, how are you finding the M3 compared with the M140i? I've owned an M3 in the past, now have a cayman gts, but part of me is looking at the BMWs again.

e92 for the win bro ! Loving it soon I will have one also , you should go for a underbody wash if anyone offers that around where you live , atleast getting rid of all the gunk from over the years and make it clean and fresh again
They were going to fit the new exhaust with the old gaskets?? Wth? Those should just be changed by default! (unless they had been replaced recently, which yours clearly hadn't). Oh and the standard exhaust is not really restrictive, lol. And your new exhaust has no cats at all?? Nice, pumping out poisonous gases for us all! 😛 Also an MoT fail (or should be!). And it's obnoxiously loud, with valves open at least. Lovely looking welding and exhaust system though!
Sounds amazing 👏 love it! And those downshifts 😉 I have the Asr controller on my pfl Rs3, on stage 3 with Milltek downpipe. I'm constantly closing/opening valves dependant on mood 👍
The E92 doesn't need valves. It needs four resonators and mufflers to sound good and not drone.
Which set would you recommend to compliment an ESS
Don’t say that too loud they won’t the idea of a proper exhaust setup

I'm a welder, that's some better welding than I see on the big exhaust companies. #weldporn and how anyone can say it sounded better before amazes me.
I was told theres 2 kinds of welders. A Welder and a Grinder. One has to always clean up their mess.
Im not a welder by any stretch but that looks impressive welding skills
Maddp is one of the best tig welder in the country. Maybe the best🤣 he's the one that put Deutschtech in the map for the best welds.

Not feeling it, I think the system on Devin Niemla’s M3 has nailed it with sound but it’s not obnoxious
