While Lae'Zel is convinced that the Absolute is a Mindflayer front, it does seem as though she is more likely the central antagonist. Another of your well narrated videos that continue to add to the lore surrounding BG3 that I for one am new to, although I am now enjoying Exile.
I love your DnD lore videos. It's really helped me understand it more than from trying to learn it playing the games and reading what I can. Not sure about anyone else but I sure would love more DnD lore stuff. I literally have you in the background while I am work. It's amazing.
One of the relatively recent R.A. Salvatore novels had an Illithid hive mind corrupted through what was inserted into the collective consciousness by a single Illithid. Kimmuriel Oblodra eventually helped uncover it.
It's super interesting how undeath allows an illithid to become an actual person instead of a subsection of a hivemind. An Illithid Lich can basically avoid the pitfalls of being an illithid by not having to rely on keeping slaves (who end up rebelling against them all the time anyway). Truly, it seems to me that undeath is literally the only form of salvation for an illithid. However... there are various interesting questions that arise. Illithids are not supposed to have souls, because upon the birth on an illithid, the host's soul is extinguished. So how does an illithid become a lich? They need a phylactery where they store their soul. Except they don't have one.
In the opening there is a sight of Dead Mindflayers littered all around the Brood Brine pool....this was before the Gith attacked and what i thought intresting is how the remaining Mindflayer took in the sight of its dead brethren. What could kill all those MFr's and is it connected with the Parties strange acting tadpoles." Tools " indeed maybe enslaved by the Dead 3
I hope Omellum stays safe from the others, so he can help us later on.

One of few examples where becoming a lich is the most moral option.
Your narration made me want to play an Illithid Mage. Maybe one day.
Interesting. Thanks for posting this

Good tidings my friend it seems the al'gor'ithm has blessed ye and a new subscriber ye have received!
Thanks!
Thank you for the video. I think the Illithids that are working with the Absolute might be a branch that broke off from the rest of the Illithids.

I plan on talking about other Illithid variants later on, including the Iich variants.
some illithids the soul takes over the body meaning it never killed the host. These forms of illithid scare the mindflayers on a whole.

I for one ...am looking forward to our Illithid overlords taking over. At least we will have functioning healthcare and job market.
Won't need it, be over for their dinner first probably 🙂
Do you think we would have to feed them our current masters?
It would be interesting to actually play a mindlfayer as a PC; I know that there is a mod for BG2 that adds a mindflayer NPC.
I remember seeing that mod, think the mindflayer NPC was a bit underpowered but it has been years.
For those first two minutes I thought I was watching a video about the WEF. Word for word their view of the world and other races.
What music are you using in the background? It's so beautiful
As a long time viewer I have always wondered where your accent is from.
Nowhere in particular. I have moved around a lot in my life. I would say it is at best, a me-accent more than anything else.
Omeluum is renegade?
Not who keep his mind after tranformation?
