As someone who knows even a little bit about the series, that was very amusing. Law: "You sneak in and grab the guy" Luffy: *proceeds to knock down the front door and punch guy head on*
@phatpat63 Yes I immediately thought of poor Law making all these plans just for the Strawhats (Luffy and Zoro) to just do whatever the hell they want anyway. Lol
As I understand Taz Skylar, who plays Sanji, specifically asked for Craig Fairbrass, who plays Zeff, to play that role because they had worked together acting as father and son in a previous role. “We hadn’t found a Zeff yet as we were auditioning, and Taz came to me one day and he said, ‘I don’t know if this is appropriate or a big swing or whatever, but you guys [should] talk to Craig Fairbrass. I’ve worked with him before, I love him. I think he’d be down.’ So we reached out. Craig read. Craig got the role,” says Owens.
I've watched a lot of reactions of One Piece... and it's always interesting to see how surprised people get about the fish skin on Zoro's wounds! This procedure is very real and it work wonders: wounds, cuts, burns! But of course there's a little treatment on the skin... it doesn't go straight from the fish! But it actually works... yes!! Although I've never heart about yellowtail skin... we usually use the tilapia one. :)
at 16:20 The "person" who designs a lot of popular designs for the fishpeople is a starfish named Pappag. You can actually see his branding on some clothing in the live action. The bright yellow star!
Plotwise, it is actually quite easy to know Luffy is Garp's grandson because Luffy keeps telling people "I am Monkey·D·Luffy, and I am going to…", while Garp's full name is Monkey·D·Garp.
Fish skin has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties that promote healing of certain wounds. Also a good thing to keep in mind with One Piece, a person showing off a superhuman ability or having an unusual appearance is not always because they ate a devil fruit. devil fruit users tend to telegraph they have eaten one or the narrative hints or explicitly tells you they have.
Was used by many fishing cultures including the Egyptians, but yes the Brazilian's were the 1st to clinically study and show the mechanism and benefits. Many other studies since have proven their results. Google "Fish skin heals the toughest wounds Researchers from Iceland to Brazil investigate the healing powers of fish skin, providing a low-cost and improved solution for treating wounds."
Arlong didn't eat one, Fishmen are just a species, and they're stronger than humans with tough skin. There's tons of different ones, but one in particular, I'm very excited to see in live action
While it's not explicitly stated, there are small yellow eggplants that look a lot like child Sanji's hair in the anime, and it's assumed that's why Zeff calls him "chibi nasu" (little eggplant). I'm glad they correctly translated it in the live action. Often times it was dubbed and subtitled to "little brat" which loses the sentimentality in translation.
@@OrdinaryCritic I will always go sub over dub, but it bugs me reading "little brat" when I can hear Zeff saying "chibi nasu", and other translations similarly. 😜
One trait I love about Sanji that I absolutely love that my partner (a massive OP fan) told me is that he only fights by kicking because "Hands are for cooking". I love that they translated that into live action as well.
"Oregano is for savages" is a great line, and it's perfect for the character. Sanji isn't actually French, because France doesn't exist, but he's coded as French. Zeff is coded Italian. In our world there is a big culinary rivalry between the two nations. Oregano is not really used in the French culinary tradition, as it's mainly a southern Italian herb. Zeff seems to put oregano in everything, even dishes where it just doesn't make any sense. Sanji considers him uncivilized because of it.
Happy to learn the "backstory of this". And as it happens, I agree with Sanji. With thyme, rosemary, marjoram, etc. being on disposal, oregano is indeed for savages.
If i remember well it's in Brazil they found and used the fish skin to help the heal of wounds. And at 15:40 , Arlong hadn't a devil fruit, he could swin in the sea if he had one. In the Anime and also the Live Action, if someone have a devil fruit, the person will say.

16:13 There is actually clothes for fish-men. There's a brand that does that, human (and other) clothes too. The logo appears in episode 1
16:22 This could be considered a small spoiler but there's a starfish (I kid you not) who's a fashion designer and he designed all of the clothings for fishmen and mermaids of this world
In the live action only Luffy and Buggy have devil fruit powers. The Fishman are naturally stronger than humans and these Fishman know Fishman karate. The rest of the strong people like Garp, Shanks, and Mihawk all have a certain martial art that hasn't been mentioned yet.
I enjoyed your reaction to this episode. So, here are some things to let you know. Don Krieg, the pirate Mihawk killed in his introduction last episode was actually the main antagonist of the Baratie storyline instead of Arlong in the original anime and manga. And also, the actor who played Buggy was a Marvel character named Deke Shaw in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
4:10 Just for some perspective Mihawk is so powerful everybody displayed and alive in this season(with the exception of a couple whom could beat or match him one on one) could team up to fight him at once and he'd win.
It is kind of funny when you reference Mihawk and go "well who is literally going to stop him?" Well Garp probably could. It is hard to break it down, but trust me when I say Garp is very powerful. He might have lost a bit due to age, but he is still beyond powerful. If it was a younger Garp? No question he could take down Mihawk.
Unless it's specifically said (for the live action it's Luffy and Buggy) then the powers you're seeing are not devil fruits. Fishmen are a physically stronger species and others such as Mihawk, Garp, Zoro etc have achieved their power through training (which you'll get more detail about in later seasons)
Aarlong could never swim in the ocean if he had a devil fruit power. there is a way people can be powerful without a devil fruit, they kinda hint on it in season 1 but if you don't know, you won't really see it. The scene where shanks saved kid luffy and he says get lost to the sea monster, he used a variation of this power, also garp uses this power at the end, but explains why garp or shanks a "normal" human can be so fearsome in a world where there are devil fruit users. the live action will probably not show it but it also explains why garp could constantly beat the hell out of kid luffy even though he is made of rubber. Fishmen on the other hand use a technique called fishman karate.
As gross as it sounds, fish skin is Anti inflammatory and Anti bacterial. While it won't do much for Zoro's blood loss it will prevent infection. Also who ever went so hard on Arlong's beat, I mean damn that theme is cold as hell.
A little lore that shouldnt be a spoiler but after you eat a devil fruit the water of the sea basically drains ALL of your stamina andf THATS why Luffy has such a bad time
they were super nerfed in this series tho. luffy flinches and gets hurt from blunt forces (except sphere bullets) and it only takes few splashes of sea water to weaken df users contrary to the requirement being having soaked halfbody or more even people that dont have df gets nerfed like kuro, kuro should've shown wrecking the room interior on his monologue while fighting luffy (like how he blindly cut everything in the og) but all he does is dash around the room
You need to understand that not everyone that's unique or different in this series has eaten a devil fruit. Characters will usually make it very clear that they've eaten one. Kuro did not eat one. Mihawk did not eat one. Arlong did not eat one.
Once you've finished the live action you should react to The Breathtaking World of One Piece. It's a short video that does a good job of showing the world without spoiling.
@HollowKonpaku Yeah I guess but I don't think it's a huge deal. Plus it will be many years before live action reaches that point so it will be forgotten by then. It's just a few seconds of the video anyway.
@@emmanuelhuerta607 I understand. I just remember the wonder of discovering that those islands exist along wit the Strawhats.
