The machine is for separating the honey from the honey comb, you put in the blocks you found, turn the wheel and the honey comes out of the comb. My mother grew up thinking the more things she acquired, the more for me when she was gone. Kind of like an inheritance, she even made me promise not to get rid of any of it. The fact is, as children we can’t take in all of our parents earthly treasures as we don’t have room or time to self them. I had to throw tons of beautiful treasures because I could give them away. It made me sick to do it too. I kept the best of course, but I still have 4 storage units full, so I can see why family might leave behind so much! It’s very daunting to deal with.

Hi Matt and Andy. My grand father used to have bee keeping. He made some incredible honey and used the wax to sell. He taught me that the bee wax had many uses, including helping softening callus under your feet. The barrel you found that you weren't sure about, is actually a spinner to spin honey out of the frames. You would put the frames down into the barrel, specifically inside the centered metal basket you saw. You'd spin by hand power, causing the honey to be forced out of the frames. Honey will collect in the bottom. These barrels has a small drain pipe that you can open and drain the honey into whatever containers one might have at hand.
So if you stumble upon a house in the future with such equipment, you know what you're dealing with :)

Taylor Brawn and Flood Chemists were also mineral water manufacturers. They also sold good, drink and tobacco and were in operation between 1820 and 1937. The wheelchair was manufactured by WH Bailey and Sons who made hospital furniture and medical instruments from 1880’s until 1940’s. There are many exhibits of theirs in the Science Museum.

My cars are all named. I’ve had Freddie, Sandy, Pooh, Bertie, Rosie, and I’ve now got Himmler. You’ve got to make your car. Am I the only one who talks to it?
Why there’s half a bed hinge in the house is weird. What would happen is the bees would fill the comb with honey, when full, you’d swap them over and collect the honey and put it in jars. Honey eaten from the bottom of your own garden was just gorgeous. Mum would always make me honey or homemade jam sandwiches after I was poorly.
Those tiles in the fireplace are so beautiful

It is amazing how much stuff people have in their homes and a dam shame they have no one to leave the house or items to. All the great photos' and antique furniture that once was polished to the highest shine and to just be left to disintegrate over the years from damp and wet weather getting inside the broken windows and such. That hiss you heard was very spooky indeed and could be a snake or dare I say a spirit of the owner long past who is still in the house as you both look around.lol. awesome video Matt and Andy and great to see you both back in action to face the unknown. The "spinny thing" is for separating honey from the honey comb. You picked up part of the been hive just before this clip. The cells are taken out of the hive and placed in the drum, put lid on and turn the handle. The honey is then forced out of the cells, it's a good work out but the honey taste good.

#Matt, the report card thing ... The word was neatness, as in writing! And the white "wedding dress" was not a dress at all, it was a slip.

And I also believe these people were into some cultish stuff!!

It’s such a shame when these houses and contents are just left , some of these items could be in a museum, we collect so much stuff that means so much to us at the time but then we die and it’s left to be rubbish,so sad xx
