Hi. Great explore! Good thing you didn't have Bear with you to give you away. In that first room the doorway with the groove into the wall was for a large bar to go across the door. Maybe it was a cell or larder door? The carved mouldings would be from doorways, window frames, corridor arches, library shelves, stairways and bannisters, fireplaces and mantelpieces - I think probably to be used for the restoration. Hope someone finishes it. I would say they were planning on either plasterboarding or timber-lining throughout with insulation for warmth, and then using the mouldings to make it look more authentic. I agree that I'd have used the old fireplace as as a feature. Loved the sweep of the staircase. It might well be that the restoration was stopped because of the bats, being a protected species. You're not allowed to boot them out of a roosting place, or even disturb them. My mother had problems with just pointing a barn because there were bats in the roof. Another scary exit! Pity the explore was cut short, but I think you were wise - farmers or locals might not be as forgiving as police... I didn't see the woman. Were you thinking she was a ghost, or someone living there/keeping it safe?
Oh my you 2 can find all the trouble can't you!!! And the Bats instead of pigeons! It's always one or the other!😂🤣 It's to bad they were covering up all the real beauty of the stone and fire places! And that you couldn't get any farther than you did! Damned people coming to get you! Run Matt and Andy ... RUN!!!! Had me laughing so hard with the hiding games you play so you don't get caught!😅🤣😂I did hold my breath for a minute tho! Was a great effort!Love love l❤ve my finders beepers guys Matt and Andy! Everyone tell 2 friends to watch, like, comment, hit the bell icon and share so these guys get the recognition they deserve! Also find beepers beef and beepers bits! Yes for an endangered species there seems to be hell of alot of them every were! were I live go out at night throw a random rock your going to hit a bat. How much is the fines for disturbing bats now? cha-ching!
I was once a housekeeper in a similar sized house. The small bricked area at the end of the wine cellar would probably have the big doors on and spirits/ expensive wine would've been in there , the butler would have the only key. The large safe door with the smaller safes inside would most likely be where silverware and possibly jewellery and money would be kept. Now I'm away to watch the rest :)
@@FINDERSBEEPERS .. .. Luckily I don't have to think too far back as I only stopped working there in 2010 :) Loved seeing the plug/waste on the bath and just remember in the "big houses" if the paintwork's painted a shitty brown colour then it's servants quarters. We still had the outside game larder, under ground icehouse in the garden, copper, wooden and enamelled sinks in the different pantries for different purposes. All the bathrooms had the original fittings from when they were first put in in the Edwardian era and the laundry was amazing. I'll probably drive you bonkers with chipping in! I'm just trying to catch up on some of your other visits as I only just stumbled across you both... I maybe gone sometime :)
This place has been explored before. When they were leaving a woman appeared in the right hand window one storey up from the front door and there was definitely movement there.
I have seen several Ghost Hunters there and they always get something intelligent. And Bats too! I want you to know, and you might already, that I watch you a lot, at least one vid a day, because I just love what you do, love history, love how you speak too. Very soothing after watching something creepy and spooky, although your videos can be like that as well , with humor spun in. Just love you both!
Another great video guys All the furniture and effects may have been bought from auction to do the place up the pictures are Victorian ,the door led down is a wardrobe door without the mirror the square wood panels are to go on the studded walls lucky you didn't get caught
You know, dogs are known to bark like that when there are spirits around. But, to be fair, when Ouija Bros. was there, a man walked up with 3 dogs outside. He was nice and didn't tell them to leave. I wonder if it is the same dogs?
Hi, guys omg you 2 don't half get yourself into some pickles! So funny 😄 And it's heartbreaking seeing hundreds of year's of history going down the pan devastating!! and you were both down here in wales too ( obviously not Newport though lol ) love you guys and love the boots Andy 👍 🏴 x x
Andy & Matt...very interesting Explore of this old Manor House...The Structure itself was probably quite Grand at one time, but the inept "renovations" inside have almost ruined it...Looks like someone started & ran out of funds to continue...Or too frustrated bringing the inside up to today's building codes...TY for the Laughs on "bag of arses"!...Take Good Care!...😊👍🙃!...
I would love to go with them into a fantastic old building but I live in Florida. Not that I'm invited ! They sure don't make them (houses) like they used to. Old Good. New Bad.
I can't believe how quickly people trash a place, this place seemed more put together last time I saw it. Either that or there are things missing. That view there and the vibe, just the countryside is so beautiful. Is this where you are from? That slug is like the ones we have here in Oregon! Our climate looks a lot like the UK's to me.
The photograph that shows Henekeys and the tram is Enfield Town in North London. It is less than a 10 minutes walk from where I live. Many of the buildings are still there, including the fountain which can be seen on the right. The Henekeys building is an old coaching inn and still exists and is now a restaurant. The tram is on Church Street. The road heads straight into what is now Southbury Road, but probably Nags Head Road when the picture was taken. The tram tracks curved to the left and head north into Silver Street. The Lloyds Bank on the corner is still there. The road going off to the right is London Road.
In fact, the church is also Enfield, Windmill Hill. And I think that is the old windmill on the left. The next photograph is of a pub called the Rose and Crown, Clay Hill, Enfield, and that still exists.
@@FINDERSBEEPERS No idea. I suppose whoever owned the house in Wales may have had a connection to the area. Trams made it to Enfield Town in 1911 and the windmill was demolished in 1904 so maybe the connection dates to around then. Thanks for the video.
Gotta say yall did a wonderful job both being respectful while exploring and on being safe as the crazy situation unfolded, love the work yall do, new subscriber here came from Nukes Top 5.
It must have been a grand place at one time, don't know why anyone would want to cover up the fireplaces or all the stone. Thanks for the video and the laughs ❤
I bet it all boils down to warmth, because fireplaces cause draughts, stone is cold, and the spaces are so big that heating it would be a nightmare. The stairwell alone would cost a fortune, so it would be a choice between lining plus insulation, or possibly massive tapestries. Either would need some form of heating as well. Plus double-glazing or secondary glazing as there's a lot of glass (some broken), which is also cold. I bet the double-layer of old parquet flooring was an attempt to reduce cold as well.
@eveskey7982 Agreed. If it's a Listed building they can be very fierce. My suspicion is they had to stop restoring it because bats are endangered in the UK and you're not allowed to disturb their roosts.
Henekeys (in the picture) was a Port Wine and Brandy merchants established in 1695 in High Holborn London where they shipped out to various other city's around the Uk, great find boys!

In Sacramento California, a lane usually has no outlet and no documented lanes. A street , drive has two way marked and avenue always has an outlet by law. WOW!!! Very very cool place & it’s definitely in the middle of nowhere!!! I visited Wales many years ago as a kid & its beautiful!!!!! The arched walls of the basement is super cool!!! The old spiral staircase & all the old carved wood banisters & stuff are incredible!!! Those definitely looked like pigs!!! Do u know when that place was built? 1800’s?
Someone might had owned it and they were forced to make sure remodeling and construction be done by standards of historical period of house. Historical society organizations can be strict. That can be a headache and very very expensive.
@eveskey7982 Agreed. If it's a Listed building they can be very fierce. My suspicion is they had to stop restoring it because bats are endangered in the UK and you're not allowed to disturb their roosts.

Thank you for sharing your videos with us. You two make me laugh. I do think you should try ghost hunting. I think you would definitely get responses. You guys keep it real and have fun. Be safe. Love from Iowa, US.
1778 and a young queen Elizabeth visited here before she was Queen
You guys ever tried using red flashlights/torches exploring these places. supposedly that color light is harder to spot from a distance.
I wonder how many people have slide down the banister.
Great video
Really looking forward to an awesome explore video as always 🙂👌🏻
Someone might had owned it and they were forced to make sure remodeling and construction be done by standards of historical period of house. Historical society organizations can be strict. That can be a headache and very very expensive.
@eveskey7982 Agreed. If it's a Listed building they can be very fierce. My suspicion is they had to stop restoring it because bats are endangered in the UK and you're not allowed to disturb their roosts.
Love u guys from Dublin x
How do you find these amazing places?
