Hi Justin thanks again for another great video! I purchased a decant of pdm herod last month, loving it 😀, will probably get a bottle for the autumn to add to my slowly expanding collection.
I have only sniffed Aventus off a coworker, but couple of weeks ago I bought my first decant of Royal Oud. OMG! The dry down!! Good God..it's so awesome. I totally agree with you on the opening. Besides the Christmas tree feeling in the opening, to my nose, it felt like an enclosed room but someone smoked a cigarette and left it closed for several days before someone went in. But that lasted like 15-20 mins and then it's absolutely wow stuff. P.s.: I don't smoke.
@@kennydfresh9747 i have L'Aventure (some say it's an Aventus clone, but I won't compare since I don't have Aventus). Does Aventus and L'Aventture share things in common? Lemme know if you've experienced it.
@@brian19869 I never got my nose on it but other Aventus clones I have are Scent for Peace, Hacivat, Cedrat Boise, consort, club nuit intense man, monc blanc explorer, and supremacy(don't own)are all basically Creed Aventus.
Nicolai also has new York intense. It's honestly tied with mfk masculin plurial as best fougere I've ever smelled. Special juice. Great vid as usual, Justin
Happy you talk about "aimez-moi comme je suis"from Caron. Quite easy to find where I live among designers' scents, but definitely niche quality, because of its uniqueness ... gorgeous hazelnut note.
Annicke 2 by Eight & Bob also has a great hazelnut note, although they laughably still suggest that the fragrance is 'for women'. Pfft. If you dig hazelnut, maybe check it out. Why guys haven't figured out that women like edible things and then really capitalised on this by hunting out gourmand compositions which they enjoy and know as a fact most women would (on a man), well, I have no idea. 'Insulo' by Jeroboam and 'Memories' by The Gate Paris are another two GREAT 'masculine leaning' gourmands which I don't smell nearly often enough on men. Delicious.
Oh you're a good guy Justin. We all need our peers to give us food for thought and give us something to ruminate upon in our quiet moments, right? Otherwise we might as well live with a Kazuo Ishiguro AI robot we program to be our friend and tell us how great we always are. It's when someone overreaches and damns a stranger wholesale or twists the only measley bits of information in the public domain that are out there, y'know, without knowing the details of the matter at hand...well then I would always advise a hearty and healthy chuckle (I suddenly pictured Axel Foley's laugh when the Michael Jackson jacket guy walks past him in Beverly Hills Cop). There are more of 'them' than there ever will be of 'us'. If you know what I mean. ;) When people are incredibly rude in how they phrase things and get inappropriately personal in, say, a comment section delivering an unsolicited reply comment that my eyebrows raise and I just feel such pity for this unsettling volume of humans who arrogantly and carelessly treat strangers like dirt online. They wouldn't DARE, wouldn't even THINK to speak and behave this way in person when socialising. What worries me is how they are THINKING, both on and offline; are they THINKING with some intellectual curiosity and able to pump the breaks and resist busting through to a rapidly formed and ultimately worthless opinion? @@stayfreshproductions Thank you for reading my alternative option to War and Peace. ;) Hope you're excited about exploring Portland this summer. I'm excited FOR you!
Try NY Intense from Nicolaï, citric spicy turning fougere like animalistic. Classy. And you also should try Yatagan from Caron, quite a trip and not as easy as Aimez-moi but what a damn manly good one. Cheers, nice picks! I'm going for the patchouli from Nicolaï 👌
I'm a huge fan of Caron, particularly Le Troisiemme Homme (you'll also sometimes listed as both "Le 3e Homme" or the English translation "3rd Man") - it's the closest thing I have to a signature scent. Though no tobacco note is listed, the accords always make me think of it as a "tobacco-clove-fougere." To some it smells dated, which would make sense as it's from 1985, but I think it's a hugely versatile all-weather scent that works casually or formally, but I prefer to wear it for events that are in-between those two.
Whew, Patchouli Intense. Man, I tell ya - that stuff last forever. I have worn it and could still detect it 2 days later. In fact, I think it's the longest lasting scent I've tried to date. Too bad I don't like it. lol. That green patchouli comes across really sharp to my nose and smells as if I've been chopping green peppers all day. However, for fans of that type of stuff, the longevity would be hard to beat.
Great video homeboy. I agree 100% don’t blind by fragrances. It is a recipe for disaster. However you just reminded me I need to get a bottle of that Harrod! Thanks 👊🏾
Nice picks Justin! Curious about those first two now, the other 3 I have. What is it with ladies gifting Herod? I got my first full bottle of Herod for our anniversary last week. With newer 81%vol alc formulation still a stunning scent that to my recollection smells exactly like the older formulation, but performance is a bit hit or miss. My sample performed terrible, gone after 4 hours. And that was directly from PDM themselves. But the bottle thankfully does perform a lot better, 8-9 hours on my skin. Also, while it is less designery than Layton or Percival, it's still more of a luxury designer profile to my tastes. Royal Oud is great! Like you mention, the name doesn't quite match, it's more Woody than oudy to my nose, but such a nice versatile classy profile! And Overture, well, that was a Semi-blind buy that I most certainly don't regret. Amouage is a house that I really like and Ms Vinchon Spencer has done some great other ones for them. And those notes, it sounded really interesting. I already ordered my sample when I saw the bottle at my fave discounter for a little over half the normal price. Couldn't resist placing that full bottle order. It's nowhere near as versatile as the Creed or PDM, but I think it's great! And with very careful sprays, I have worn it to the office on colder days and received only positive reactions. But certainly a try before you buy, it's quite potent and not everyone likes the opening I've noticed. I love it on colder days!
Overture man is def on my radar! Can’t wait to have a high paying job after college so I can buy all the frags in my wish list haha that’s good motivation for me!
Royal Oud is the best of Creed for men, I know several women along with myself that adore this fragrance on a man. So, a ladies' humble opinion..if you're thinking about getting it, get it!
@Gainzmaster lol I'm not, I'm just giving an opinion from the opposite sex point of view. Aren't these fragrance channels doing the same? Giving recommendations, based on their opinion to help people decide what to buy? And you're here to listen to that obviously ...so I don't know why me saying one of the fragrances Justin mentioned is really good sounds like an underhanded sales pitch. I do not work for creed or have any ties to any fragrance houses, I just like how that one smells.. I guess I can't give an opinion on one of these mentioned in the video lol
My best Creed is Viking Cologne and Royal Oud is a close 2nd 🙂 It's crazy how many other fragrances under the Creed house don't get recognition for how good they are.
Well, Parfums de Nicolai is one of those houses I feel needs to be talked about. I got to smell many of them and they're nice and artistic. Definitely worth the $! I'd recommend you Cuir Cuba! Big hugs to you, Justin!
I am surprised you haven't checked New York Intense by Patricia de Nicolai yet :D I think it would be more up your alley than Patchouli Intense. Both great fragrances though
Herod is my favorite of all Parfums de marly! I don’t know why but I get such a sexy, seductive, smoky and intoxicating cherry out of it, I’m so in love with it and I don’t regret spending so much money on it. Big Luv!
I wore my sample of that new Caron today… very unique and classy. I’ll be picking up a bottle as soon as I find it for a decent price (hopefully around the same price as the rest of their line)
Didn’t really like Patchouli Intense, but tried six other fragrances from Nikolai, and the only would I would really get as a bottle is Eau Mixte, a great one.
I have Caron it has a light metallic note that kind of throws off the scent to me. It seems to remind me of eight and Bob nuit de megeve which I enjoy a bit more though I don’t own a full bottle. Give that one a try if you get the opportunity. And if I may make a recommendation give Nobile 1942 Fougere Nobile a try it’s not in the same vein as the Caron. But it’s a Niche scent that stands out in my collection with notes of Anise lavender tobacco musk and an interesting soda water accord. The soda water accord give it more of a fizzy texture then a smell if it makes sense. I recommend for anyone looking for a great sleeper scent. Leans mature.
Great video Justin Creed Royal Oud is my absolute favorite fragrance, and has special memories when i was in Canada. and love the picture on the wall of the John Hancock building in Chicago.
Aimez moi comme je suis is a masterpiece for me, and so affordable too. The longer it stays on the skin, the better it gets. Edit: Affordable in Europe where I am ,apparently it's more expensive in your part of the world.
On my buylist, the most expensive scents I currently have are Sahraa [FDB], Nefs [Nishane], and Haltane [PDM]. Some cheaper Kilians, Xerjoffs, and Goldfield&Banks' in the mix too. For these scents, tried that Caron and it certainly is unique, I wouldn't buy it though (lack of brand strength, low price entry, relatively designer-ish vibe). Have a bottle of Herod, it's not as mind-blowing for me as it seems to be for you, do think it's a good fragrance to have as a winter grab-n-go. Tried Royal Oud, not a fan. Tried Overture man and I smell a lot of the same DNA in what Carner does in their amber fragrances.
Great video is always JC I think I’m about to take that new step into the niche see what I can do pray for me 😂 But I had a question if you had the opportunity to make another fragrance would you do it again or are you past that point been there done that you know
Layton, Carlisle and Herod are top of the line. Layton is the brother whom has his stuff together and is going places. Carlisle is the middle child with all the confidence, self-esteem and self-worth and none of the middle child syndrome. Herod remind me of the big brother referred to as Future Man.
Finally smelled Overture a couple of weeks ago and I was surprised by how much it reminded me of Ormonde Jayne Montabaco. I've never heard that comparison before and the notes don't even look similar so it was very unexpected. Have you gotten your nose on Ormonde Jayne fragrances yet?
Agree. Herod is hyped for good reason. It's one of those fragrances where the over-exposure makes sense. It's a 'Tobacco Vanille' for people who want to pluck out the vanilla pod from their pouch of sweet pipe tobacco and smell a little more aromatic and 'gentlemans club', don't you think? Still has a bit of sweetness to it, but it smells juicier to me and a little less dense than Tobacco Vanille.
Patricia de Nicolai is a genius! Her fragrances have a classic structure with a modern intelligence. Anything is worth a try but New York is my favourite. Guerlain should have hired her!
Hey Justin I have 3 weddings this summer and was wondering if you or anyone reading this have any fragrance suggestions. One of the weddings will be in an actual castle so I want to make sure I come correct lol.
There are so many different options you could go with. What I would recommend is you pick something you love from your collection, something that is appropriate for the weather and the attire, and something that makes you feel confident and ready for the event! Can’t wait to hear how it goes! 👌🏾
@@stayfreshproductions makes sense. In that case I’m thinking fan your flames / l’homme ideal / Fahrenheit . I’ll give those three a few more wearings to become even more familiar with them
Really have trouble understanding the appeal to overture.. too obscure and animalic for me. Luckily i found joy in Epic man.. gives me a similar spicy leather vibe but more clean/fresh and way easier to wear
As long as you're transparent i.e. "I bought this myself", "I received this for free from the brand", or "I received this for free from a fan": it doesn't matter to me. Love the content and especially the Jazz even though I will probably never buy anything niche.
ive learned my lesson with cedrat boise. BUY A DECANT lol. I have a particular nose i guess. A lot of frags that were raved about, i didnt feel that strongly for and wound up giving them away. like " i put in a box on the porch come get it" lol. NOT SAYING YOU but after owning a few frags extremely hyped on other frag channels :I realized most these guys are just trying to get you to buy and that's ok now that i know that. Either that or i just dont have the same nose as other people but there are some frags WHERE I CALL B.S! lol For example i just recently smelled mont blanc spirit and loved it. clean, fresh, un-intrusive, inviting ,but not trying too hard. Not to be dressed up suit and tie but jeans and a t-shirt or a polo will be fine. I hear reviewers say " it smells like a deodorant" B.S! lol. where the heck are these guys shopping?? Find me a deodorant or a shower gel that smells that good PLEASE....you cant cuzz there isnt one lol....stop with the crap lol. not saying there arent synthetic compounds, but it didnt smell cheap at ALLLL. ive never smelt a deodorant that didnt smell like a cheap frag. Thats my rant for today lol...i let it all out lol
"ABSOLUTELY DID NOT LIKE IT" to "ONE OF THE BEST FROM THE HOUSE. PERIOD" Listen people... Pleassssse take these reviews from 'reviewers' with a "100Lb Bag Of Salt". lol No shot at Justin because I've heard him say on many occasions "Buy it. Give it a try. Just because I did not enjoy it. You might...." But in general, its great advice. Never NOT buy a fragrance because you hear your 'favorite' Reviewer say its trash.
I"M BAAACCKKK the biggest hater of Creed Royal Oud on youtube. It STINKS, DO NOT BUY IT!!!! I own over 100 fragrances. Herod is really an ok fragrance that is very very unisex. Overture man is awesome, its a very mature scent though for the older gentlemen.
I think people need to understand getting free is ok. Doctors get free samples of medication, fashion brands give free clothes for people to review, and make-up brands give free for people to review their make-up. It's the best way to get your item out and if you have a person with a big platform they will showcase your item. I'd take the free fragrance if I was reviewing them.
Thanks for the flex. Again! Congrats on the move to the new location!

I am curious what you think about Haltane. When I wear it, sometimes I love it and others I can’t stand it.
Great video is always JC I think I’m about to take that new step into the niche see what I can do pray for me 😂
But I had a question if you had the opportunity to make another fragrance would you do it again or are you past that point been there done that you know
I’d love to do it again bro.
Layton, Carlisle and Herod are top of the line. Layton is the brother whom has his stuff together and is going places. Carlisle is the middle child with all the confidence, self-esteem and self-worth and none of the middle child syndrome. Herod remind me of the big brother referred to as Future Man.
Hahaah! "Here's the story/of a man named Brady/he was bringing up three very lovely boys..." ;D
I’m getting a back up bottle of Overture. It’s that fabulous to my Nose-Brain connection.
I’ve smelled Man and I like it!
Perfums de Nicolai is fantastic. Everything I’ve smelled from them has been great
Patchouli intense! Been banging this drum for years! And royal oud is amazing. Love your intro xxxx
Thank you Rachel!
Yeah that Caron is on my wishlist!
Yes! Herod is excellent. You need to hold on to that bottle this time, Justin!
I will!
Parfums de Nicolai Patchouli Intense as well as New York Intense are the ones that intrigues me.
Patricia de Nicolai is a genius! Her fragrances have a classic structure with a modern intelligence. Anything is worth a try but New York is my favourite. Guerlain should have hired her!
I need to try New York!
I have royal oud and exclusiv.both tough wares for me here in Sc I like Carlisle and Layton more.
I love Herod….a wonderful fragrance.
You have never tried Caron pour un Homme de Caron. It is beautiful and I guess it was created in tue 30's or 40's. A Beautiful Classical Fragrance
You MUST try Bread In Chestnut by Scents Of Wood. It is incredible. Delicious.
I like your point of view it’s more genuine
Thank you 🙏🏾
I gotta catch 1 of your sets, man! When are you gonna do NYC?
I hope to get back out there!
I can have amiez moi comme je suis de caron for 53€ the 125ml! I think I am gonna buy it. For what occasion do you wear it? Thanks
I’ll give those three a few more wearings to become even more familiar with them
Hi Justin, do you have any plans to do your top dark and mysterious fragrances?. I'm supper intrested in your personal list.
I may have done lists similar to that…but I’ll look into it!
still love the Jazz part.
I'm thinking about buying some Argos! Heard of them?
Yep! I talk about them in my videos all the time.
Really have trouble understanding the appeal to overture.. too obscure and animalic for me. Luckily i found joy in Epic man.. gives me a similar spicy leather vibe but more clean/fresh and way easier to wear
Nice playing!
I from France my friend! Your French is not that bad😁
Hello Justin, I just got my Caron AMCJS and I noticed that there is an obvious metalic scent in the opening. Do you know where does it come from?
Maybe ginger?
It might be ginger! I kind of get what you’re getting.
@@stayfreshproductions Thanks!
Hey Justin and frag heads. Which blind buy from ATH is worth it??
Don’t blind buy full bottles! 😎
@@stayfreshproductions I meant it for the 10ml bottles. It’s cheap enough that I won’t hurt if I don’t like it.
Off subject but what are your favorite women’s ( unisex) fragrances?? 💜
Planning to do a video on that!
I'd like to get your take on Nicolai's Amber Oud.
I talked about it in this recent video:

@@stayfreshproductions Thank you for the reply and reference.
It would be great if you started to note the song played in the intro
As long as you're transparent i.e. "I bought this myself", "I received this for free from the brand", or "I received this for free from a fan": it doesn't matter to me. Love the content and especially the Jazz even though I will probably never buy anything niche.
Thank you Truman!
ive learned my lesson with cedrat boise. BUY A DECANT lol. I have a particular nose i guess. A lot of frags that were raved about, i didnt feel that strongly for and wound up giving them away. like " i put in a box on the porch come get it" lol. NOT SAYING YOU but after owning a few frags extremely hyped on other frag channels
:I realized most these guys are just trying to get you to buy and that's ok now that i know that. Either that or i just dont have the same nose as other people but there are some frags WHERE I CALL B.S! lol
For example i just recently smelled mont blanc spirit and loved it. clean, fresh, un-intrusive, inviting ,but not trying too hard.
I feel ya, i take reviews with a grain of salt. Just try to sample as much stuff as i can
@@VocalStorage indeed
Shweeeeet. There are a definite one... at least that in time, when the price comes down - overture man.
Creed Royal Oud! 🔥👑🔥👑🔥
Where can I find your music, Justin?
It’s on every major digital platform…but I need to put more music out there.
Best summer fragrances (fresh) 2022 including all time perfumes. Not just 2022 releases
Is this a video suggestion?
@@stayfreshproductions yes please
Herod is the best fragrance from the house of PDM.
Patchouli intense is just ridiculous not for me but ridiculous performance
"ABSOLUTELY DID NOT LIKE IT" to "ONE OF THE BEST FROM THE HOUSE. PERIOD" Listen people... Pleassssse take these reviews from 'reviewers' with a "100Lb Bag Of Salt". lol No shot at Justin because I've heard him say on many occasions "Buy it. Give it a try. Just because I did not enjoy it. You might...."
But in general, its great advice. Never NOT buy a fragrance because you hear your 'favorite' Reviewer say its trash.
My videos are simply a journal of my journey. With it will come changes, some of them drastic. And I will share them. That’s all.
Privet Justin, kak dela??? 👋🙌
Is royal oud in any way similar to tf oud wood ?
They are very different!
Overture 👍👌❤❤❤
Bad ass intro
🙏🏾🙏🏾
EWF horns intro...if YOU can blow that horn Bro!
No fragrance is for everyone. Just because you don’t like something doesn’t mean everyone will feel the same way. I figured that might be obvious!
