A lot of people get caught up on the price per milliliter and that's just not the way to think about fragrance. Justin, you've said it many times: For the casual wearer it will take two lifetimes to get through 100 ml of a fragrance. Buying 3 to 5 ml samples of quality fragrances is more than enough for most people to get 6 to 10 wears of something. Then, you can save up for the one you know you really love. Also, for people who are nervous about shelling out the money for quality fragrances, just know that the secondary / gray market for high-end fragrances is pretty strong and there is a good chance that you'll get most if not all of your money back reselling a high quality fragrance that you don't love. At least, that has been my experience on my fragrance journey.
This video spoke to me. Been clearing out a massive amount of bottles lately and leaving only my favorites that I wear. I want my collection to be intentional, not massive for the sake of it. Feels good to look on your shelf and see nothing but scents that you love, chosen by you.
Me too! I was just thinking that as I'm watching. His content is so much more original and not beating a dead horse with all the same obvious items that the other cats continue to produce.

But you can get just as much quality in a cheap bottle, if you just know what to buy. Here is one - Giorgio Beverly Hills Pour Homme - if this was Roja everyone would jump the hype train on it. But it cant be that good for 20 bucks right?!

Recently I do not buy new mainstream, I do not buy niche. I buy vintage stuff, before sissies from IFRA decided to "save" us from allergies and skin irritation and made every noticable scent blander and weaker. I agree on searching for quality rather than quantity. If for any reason it’s too much money. Too much clutter. What I do now is buy 2ml decants, or discovery sets, test the scent first. Believe it or not, out of almost 90 samples I bought, I ended up buying only 3 full bottles, and have maybe 5 on my wish list. The rest are good but not worthy of a full bottle purchase to me. I can live without them.
There's always that balance between quality and price. Most niche fragrances are overpriced. It says a lot when clone houses can make similar scents at a fraction of the price. It speaks on greed. Do your research and find value.
@@tim_koch14 I can respect that but are the prices justified? Are these fragrances 10x better? Some literally cost 10x more than their clones. I want to support the originator but not at those ridiculous prices.
i really love your direction to put the finger on some downsides of fragrance collectiing and how to get caught up in it. i found this passion (as many other people) during quarantine in the pandemic. i consumed many videos. made lists and was tricked into thoughts i need this and that. best way i guess is to really visit a parfume store. go there often and enjoy your hobby. spray some things on testers. the things you like go ahead and test on skin. if you liked for a long period of time its a good buying choice. and never forget to not buy everything you like. no matter your budget but it will destroy your hobby. my categories: work (1 scent) gym (1 scent) free time (2 scents) date night (1 scent) summer/holliday. (3 scents)
To be honest, I’m not a big Niche guy. I love my designer fragrances even though some people call them generic, basic, synthetic, I don’t care 😂 personally I think if you’re spending hundreds of dollars on a bottle of Cologne just because it’s “Niche” that’s just bad money management in my opinion. I buy decants of niche fragrances to wear on special occasions but that’s about it. I do own a 120ml tester bottle of Mancera Cedrat Boise but only because it’s a beautiful fragrance and I got it for less than $100 off FragranceNet. At the end of the day not trying to offend anyone, just my opinion 🤙🏽
Great list Justin. Ganymede is really unique and has great Quality. Im looking at Narcisse Taiji and Etruscan waters from your list. Thanks for the suggestions :)
Perfume is art. I don’t think so much in terms of price per mil instead like if I’m going to enjoy wearing it. Love your jazz intros. Keep paving the way in this genre 💪🏼👌🏼
I only buy bottles of easy reach fragrances, Elysium and Scandal Parfum Cologne, Hacivat etc. For the occasional and special occasion fragrances I'm good with 5 to 8 ml decants.
Agree with you Justin. At the moment, I mainly wear Halfeti and Cedrat Boisé depending on my mood. And from time to time, discussing with selling assistants & shop owners feed a growing collection of samples. Black phantom for instance is interesting (ticks your 3 boxes), but I don't see myself buying a full bottle. Lord Georges is a wonderful fragrances, but the poor performance on my skin pushes my away. BTW surprised you didn't mention Halfeti Cedar ;)
Thank you for not jumping on the bandwagon like every other reviewer has been doing. Especially lately what's with all this love with Nautica all of a sudden???🤣
Some of these niche suggestions 👌🏽 in this video are fantastic. I’ll try to get my hands on some samples. This is an older video so some of the links are no longer active. I’ve seen a few in some of your more recent content. Either way, I’ll do more research to find them. - Thx as always for the great selection to review. Wondering if you’ve reviewed any of these brands? - Electimuss Gladiator Oud -The House of Oud -Blackcliff Parfums If you haven’t, hope I’ll catch a review on some of these sometime in some of your more current content. 🤞🏽 😇

I wore signature Royale X today. Turned a lot of heads with it lol. And I can get behind Francesca Bianchi too; Under my Skin is my favorite out of the wines I’ve tried and the only one I own . Great video Justin
Another stellar and educational video I do feel like people who just dived in will still make the same choices and figure it out on their own But it is nice to have an expert give them honest advice. I gifted away most of the cheapies because all they did was take up space for me.
I'm so happy that you featured Russian Tea. Masque Milano does some spectacular fragrances but doesn't get mentioned a whole lot I think... L'Attesa is also great and is my favorite from the house..
- The price issue is more complicated, sometimes you’ll find niche dropped the prices so huge - The most common thing with the cheapies is the health issue, sometimes cause a headache, so the joy of wearing turned into bad experience and saving money turned into wasting money.
Dude Ganymede came back in stock jumped on it quick and look forward to Amongst Waves coming in. Looking into Gallagher's selections the lineup looks very promising. Thanks for the recommendations.
So the man is a world class jazz trumpeter😎 I got tired of the cheap and mass available fragrances that everyone has and I’m now looking into fragrances fit for a king. I’m ready to spend $2-3k on a tiny collection and very likely headed towards Roja fragrance house
Hi Justin, Thanks for bringing Ganymede to our attention. I recently purchased a sample pack from the house of Marc Antoinne Barrios including all three of their releases. I love them all but Ganymede really spoke to me and it's uniqueness has to be tried to be appreciated. I will pick up a full bottle soon. Justin! You come across as a brilliant businessman, and you are right quality over quantity, as Luca Turin said poor quality perfumes are like loudspeakers whereas some artistic oriental creations are the definition of elegance, all the power to you.
Very good topic here Justin. I found myself recently buying multiple bottles of fragrances that almost became redundant for either smelling very similar or they would be bottles that would cover the same occasion. But this video came a the perfect time as I found myself filling back into my niche that I hadn’t had the time to wear bc of my growing collection and I realized the more unique scents garnered me crazy compliments just this past Saturday that I came to the EXACT conclusion that this video is making. QUALITY OVER QUANTITY!!! Thanks for this post Justin and I loved the recent sketch about back up bottles lol. That’s me also as I have 3 bottles of Dior Homme Eau and MUGLER Pure Malt and Havane 🤷🏻♂️
I'm seeing this problem now.. just 2 polo frags blue Parfum & the newest green just because it's was at the racks.. what's the best spots to resell colognes without the boxes
The thing you don't mention is someone new hasn't developed a nose for those fragrances, part of the journey is progression. But yes I agree no need to be buying up the rack stores. At the same time staying within your means.
Bro Copeland! On the intro picture you have Guess 1981 on the bad list. Nooooooo....it's one of the best cheapies at $20! Scent and sillage! Justsayin... Appreciate your channel! 💯
Great, Justin. I've been having this dilemma lately: quality or quantity? This video is timely and is actually for me. Thanks for the guidance. I now see why I should go for QUALITY now.... Having plenty of fragrances to choose from, I think it makes sense to go for quality. Most of us Fragheads already have more fragrances than we need in a life time, so it's high time to really ponder. Thanks again, Justin. My regards.
Thanks. Niche are mostly good quality. Though at times we find designer frags costing much more than a similar scent in niche- they hype from Y-tubers. Goes indie all the time. Much cheaper than the known expensive brands. Ganymede is in my to get list this year. Hv a sample from lucky scent. Nice scent. Saving
Hey, Justin! No worries. But I think you'll likely want to know. Genuine question. What style of music are you playing in the intro? To my ears it sounds like you’re playing out of key. I’m self taught and I don’t know much about music theory, but this kinda sounds like me trying to jam over a random backing track and struggling to find the key and hit the right notes, which happens all the time sadly haha.
The style is a bit irrelevant, it can be whatever it sounds like to you. I am intentionally superimposing sounds that are outside of the key. Rather than focusing on the notes, I’m focusing more on phrasing and melody. It’s more of a macro perspective than a micro one.

Awesome ideas.
That set was sounding tight, you was deep into that groove. I wonder what the whole piece sounding like.
Thank you
To be honest, I’m not a big Niche guy.
Where do we get niche decants?
Great list Justin. Ganymede is really unique and has great Quality. Im looking at Narcisse Taiji and Etruscan waters from your list. Thanks for the suggestions :)
Thanks Edgardo! I think you'd enjoy Francesca Bianchi's work.
Perfume is art.
I don’t think so much in terms of price per mil instead like if I’m going to enjoy wearing it.
Love your jazz intros. Keep paving the way in this genre 💪🏼👌🏼
Thank you so much Celia. I totally agree with you
I only buy bottles of easy reach fragrances, Elysium and Scandal Parfum Cologne, Hacivat etc.
Thank you! I could have mentioned Halfeti Cedar! I just forgot.
Great stuff per usual, would definitely like to try out something from Argos this year..
Thank you for not jumping on the bandwagon like every other reviewer has been doing. Especially lately what's with all this love with Nautica all of a sudden???🤣
😆 🤣 😂 😹 I really like Nautica-Voyage but to be almost I have idea why everybody is pumping it up a lot lately
This is super useful, timely content. Thank you!
You're very welcome!
- Electimuss Gladiator Oud
-The House of Oud
-Blackcliff Parfums
If you haven’t, hope I’ll catch a review on some of these sometime in some of your more current content. 🤞🏽 😇
Thank you! I’m curious which links are inactive.
I haven’t reviewed Electimuss but I have a discovery set.
I have reviewed Blackcliff several times! If you’re on a desktop, you can actually do a search on my channel and find the videos I’ve featured them in.
Great video. I appreciate your perspective.
Thank you Pedro.
I wore signature Royale X today. Turned a lot of heads with it lol. And I can get behind Francesca Bianchi too; Under my Skin is my favorite out of the wines I’ve tried and the only one I own . Great video Justin
I bought Cremo bourbon 508 body wash from Walmart and let me tell you it smells good like a barber shop reminds me of parfum de Marly
Nice!
Another stellar and educational video
I do feel like people who just dived in will still make the same choices and figure it out on their own
But it is nice to have an expert give them honest advice. I gifted away most of the cheapies because all they did was take up space for me.
I'm so happy that you featured Russian Tea. Masque Milano does some spectacular fragrances but doesn't get mentioned a whole lot I think... L'Attesa is also great and is my favorite from the house..
L'Attesa is also beautiful.
- The price issue is more complicated, sometimes you’ll find niche dropped the prices so huge
- The most common thing with the cheapies is the health issue, sometimes cause a headache, so the joy of wearing turned into bad experience and saving money turned into wasting money.
Having to Notice lately that my cheapies actually give me headaches in comparison to hind end stuff like Chanel etc
Overture is a masterpiece.Amouage has made a really modern based formulation and mixing it with oriental signature of Amouage
Dude Ganymede came back in stock jumped on it quick and look forward to Amongst Waves coming in. Looking into Gallagher's selections the lineup looks very promising. Thanks for the recommendations.
So the man is a world class jazz trumpeter😎
I got tired of the cheap and mass available fragrances that everyone has and I’m now looking into fragrances fit for a king. I’m ready to spend $2-3k on a tiny collection and very likely headed towards Roja fragrance house
Thank you!
I feel you.
Hi Justin,
Thanks for bringing Ganymede to our attention. I recently purchased a sample pack from the house of Marc Antoinne Barrios including all three of their releases. I love them all but Ganymede really spoke to me and it's uniqueness has to be tried to be appreciated. I will pick up a full bottle soon.
Francesca Bianchi is a house I will be exploring soon too. #FreshSquad
It's so good! :)
@@stayfreshproductions it really is! 😂
I've got a meeting to attend next week and I think I'm going to rock in wearing Ganymede 😁
It's certainly on the shortlist but I would love to see a video from you on this first world problem that us fragrance collectors have in trying to decide what to wear! It's tough enough on a daily basis but especially when you have functions and events to attend 😩
#1stWorldProblems #FreshSquad
I agree, great advice Justin ,been doing the same recently and it's a real difference to me.
Thank you Sean, happy to hear it
Love the channel!
Considering buying le labo for the first time. Any recommendations for men?
Santal 33 is pretty good.
Tabac 28, The Noir 29, Bergamote 22!
Greatly appreciated!
Justin I fully agree with your arguments in terms of buying niche fragrances! I probably think about achieving the best Argos fragrance! Amazing presentation of the scents Justin!!
Just a quick question about a fragrance from the house of ACCA KAPPA Black Pepper & Sandalwood. I really would like to get to know your thoughts about this fragrance Justin.
Keep going mate!! 👋🏽👍🏽🙋🏽
Thank you Adem! I enjoy BP&S. I spoke about it in this video:

Good counsel young blood. Love what you doing. Keep up the good work. As a quick aside, just left the Dr office and a bangin' sister, at least 15 to 20 years my junior gave me a complement on my Club de Nuit intense man. Let's Go ...as my son Justin would say.
Thank you Emile, I did it! Happy to hear about another Justin 👌🏾
Justin! You come across as a brilliant businessman, and you are right quality over quantity, as Luca Turin said poor quality perfumes are like loudspeakers whereas some artistic oriental creations are the definition of elegance, all the power to you.
Thank you! Great to see you!
Thank you Jose.
I love Untamed Fragrances especially Mulvena!!
They are beautiful!
Dope vid bruh 💪🏾
Thanks bro 💯
I’m lucky… I don’t get any skank from Amouage Overture. I love the beautiful woody scent it dries down to
As a formal heavy metal neo-classical guitarist, I saw what you did with your intro, but thats fine 😅
I'm seeing this problem now.. just 2 polo frags blue Parfum & the newest green just because it's was at the racks.. what's the best spots to resell colognes without the boxes
I've sold mine to my followers here and on Instagram. You could try Mercari
@Justin Copeland Thank you JC 🎺
Russian Tea is such a gem of a fragrance! My favorite from the entire house (Times Square a close second).
I'm glad you like it!
My regards.
Glad it was helpful!
Hey bro Justin, good video yeah I have amouage overture man in my collection and have a wonderful week peace
Thank you bro, take care
Thanks. Niche are mostly good quality. Though at times we find designer frags costing much more than a similar scent in niche- they hype from Y-tubers. Goes indie all the time. Much cheaper than the known expensive brands. Ganymede is in my to get list this year. Hv a sample from lucky scent. Nice scent. Saving
Thanks Kriss. I'm glad you enjoy Ganymede.
Hey, Justin! No worries. But I think you'll likely want to know. I just used your link in the description box and placed my first order with MaxAroma: two Manceras and two Nasomattos I didn't have for under $400. But your discount code didn't work. I'm guessing because they were "sale" items but I don't know. It just said that the code didn't apply to the items in my cart. So I'd suggest checking into that for others sakes or changing the wording in your description from "all items" to "all regularly priced items." Just a heads up. They didn't seem to have "Eternal Flame" either! Your content is awesome, as always! 👍❤
Sorry about that! I found out from them that the code doesn't work for on-sale items.
@@stayfreshproductions No worries! Still great prices. Hope you keep coming out with more frags as well, Justin... Even if I can't talk you into sharing any of your masterpiece, Eternal Flame! 😊👍
Justin, Love your videos.Your mention of Overture Man reminded me of Northwest Scent. What happened to that guy? Big fan of your collabs with him. Be well. Thanks for your lovely content. P.S. My most recent "discovery": boss bottled oud aromatic. Had zero experience with Boss fragrances. This one impressed.
He's been busy with the military, but I think he'll be back in the Spring.
Never in my life would I ever spend $300+ on a single bottle of cologne. I would pick up the dior homme parfum for $200 tho or some mancera for $150
Mancera you can get a hellava lot cheaper especially on sites like Maxaroma.
Clive Christian X is so dope that it almost hypnotizes me to pull the trigger on it
I like the idea of a Niche Parfum house being focused entirely on fragrances. Rather than just a line of product to go along with a brands seasonal Jeans and Handbags.
Why does that lamp in the background look like the top half of John Varvatos Vintage?
Lol
Love this one. Wish I'd discovered this myself earlier
The only way for me to obtain any of those niche frags where i am from is to blind buy online and at those prices not gonna happen!
I understand!
My collection is 92% designer 8% niche
Tbh alot of niche is over rated and alot of designer is boring
Its a fine line but you new deep pockets for niche generally but the quality is better
Having niche won't make you a better& more attractive chap
Shock horror
I agree with you. Niche is not better than designer and vice versa. There is no better or best when it comes to subjective taste. But I’m curious-what are some of the niche fragrances that you own?

Just glancing through some of your past videos. This video ties into your request for subscriber feedback about topics for future videos. Reduce the number from 10 to 5, then this topic could become a recurring video theme throughout the year.
Thanks Mark!
Looks like they got the ribbon mic on the horns🤘 shout to the audio engineer. Now you said something about frags?? 😆
Haha!
Hey man, concerning the new Argos. What seasons would u say would be best for it?
Anytime outside of the heat!
@@stayfreshproductions 👍
3 am is just diffent and I love it .
I almost fail into that trap with the exception of my buying cheap was designer from discounters verses rack store cheap buys. I have about 100 in my line up and it's maybe 3 I really regret. Bentley Intense for one. I have allot of Smokey stuff and I could have kept the 30 bucks, but after all it's only 30. RIGHT?
I bought Bentley-Intense right after opening it I sniffed it and gave it to my big Brother 😆 🤣 definitely not for me
@@delaneypeterson1433 Its super funny you mentioned Bently Intense. I literally did a video on it for my Chanel yesterday and was putting up the bottles just now and gave myself a few sprays. That's crazy.
Etruscan Water smells like my great-grandparent's house, specifically the wooden walls. Good review nonetheless.....
Awesome video
Thanks!
Can you do a review about
Dusk The Woods Collection?
I'll have to try them
I chose quality over quantity in most things in life. Fragrance. Friends.. Food. Females... you name it. I "F" with quality.
😆 🤣you the F BANDIT
I just bought a 20 dollah bottle of sean john playboy. I got a 60 dollah bottle of diesel on the way. Variety is the spiiiiiiiiiiiiice
Do you know any Dua fragrances that clones any of the Profumum Roma or Jovoy fragrances
Not that I know of. Maybe do a search on their website.
Good review good idea 👍
Only problem I have with saving for the big dawgs is I’m a fashion and record guy which both also can get pricey 😅😅
I’d chose quantity over quality only because I like variety if that makes sense
A just went from buying up every cheapie in sight to buying anything niche that looks interesting.
I'm trying a couple niche fragrances, I tried to tell one my childhood friends he should try something different but he insists that he's good, he's gonna stick with Dior Sauvage I'm like yeah it smells nice the same as 1million but you should wanna smell different from other men... That's me I don't wanna dress & smelled the same, we may have the same shoes but not the same swag you know... Thanks again J. Copeland stay fresh in these streets 🎺🎷💈💰
Yo that's crazy me and my buddy had the same conversation yesterday
Thank you Elijah, I agree with you.
